TheJiggliestPoo
There should really be a potato remover in the shop; 10 plat for a remover that has 100% chance of keeping your weapon while there should be a 100-300k credit version that has a 50% chance of destroying your weapon upon removal. Not only is this a credit sink it solves the issue that we have currently where the majority of prime weapons or event weapons are straight up upgrades of their normal counterparts like the braton/latron prime being much better or the snipetron vandal beating every other sniper rifle in the game. This leads to people potato-ing their guns then finding out theres a much better version coming out that even looks shinier which results in more people being afraid of potato-ing their current weapons. Drusus
The moment what you propose is a platinum purchase, it has to be priced comparatively to the Catalyst or Reactor. The moment that happens, it is really just not that different to buying\building a catalyst or reactor. Which means, the dev time needed to construct the special case you describe above is really not worth it, nor is it at the point of play, really different from putting in another catalyst. There is no materials preservation here as they can be created with infinite quantity via platinum, unlike where we are trying to recover materials ONLY gained via rare drops or other difficult game play centric challenges. Now, if what you were describing was something achievable through credits only, it could have merit. But as before, it kind of undermines the shop unless it has materials needed to build it in game, similar to the catalys/reactor itself.

Drusus
10 plat is cheaper than 20 plat Cheaper. That's not 'comparatively priced', which is my point. If it's as good as a reactor/catalyst, but costs less (and if you are just trashing the weapon, that's what it is, a cheaper catalyst than one for 20 plat) it undermines the catalyst value itself. The idea really only works if it's outside the platinum shop and with a lot of requirements to acquire/create. That was the point. :) Edit: Not saying I like it this way, merely conscious of the economic issues associated with such an option being created from DE's point of view. TheAscendedOne
How about it just costs a $&*&*#(%&ly high number of credits? Like 500k+. Something that most Void-running players wouldn't flinch at, but at the same time would help drain unneeded currency.
