Guide To Playing The New Nightmare Mode

So, maybe you haven't logged in to a NM mode mission yet, or you haven't done so since they were first added to the game. I thought I'd make this extremely helpful guide to how the new NM mode with the recent changes is actually played by most players, so that you can hunt for those very useful new mods like we do.

First, locate the alt and f4 keys on your keyboard, they are your newest, bestest friends. Sure you could abort missions, but that would end up on your profile.

Step 1. Load into a nightmare mode game.

Step 2. Look for your minimap and shields, either one not there? Alt+F4

Step 3. Reload Warframe and log back in to your account, then repeat step 2. This is potentially going to take a while, hope you like it. It's a "feature".

Step 4. You have shields and a map! Complete the NM mode mission. You just got your 12th copy of focus energy! Congratulations!

Step 5. Think about doing another run. Contemplate suicide as an alternative. Think about how much you really want Blaze, and go back to step 1.

I really don't think I should have to mention that this is a joke, but this being the internet, I will.

no mini map is most annoying and $&*&*#(%& feature atm.

you can play void with no radar and its no problem. but you cant play big grinner map without it.

and i see they still don't fixed it. oh dear...

i haven't played a single nm since this "fun-killer" patch

no map sucks. it doesn't add challenge, it wastes time.

no shields sucks too, but at least it's doable against infested, even better with Vampire. i'd rather not run no shields tho on grineer or corpus tho.

and keep grinding this patch, before U10 adds more mods to the nightmare pool and Blaze and Hammershot will be naught more than dreams.

No map is actually fun. I assume that those who whine and complain about it are those who simply go to the objective and ignore everything else.

No, it isn't.

It's an extra hour of you running through a first person maze trying to find that one last enemy, who the game accidentally never spawned. It's an hour of pointlessly wasted time. It is purposefully taking away vital information from the player. It is equivalent to having no skills on a Loki and spawning 500 rollers in the room he's in.

For every person like you who doesn't hate it, there are legions who think it's a horrid abomination. So, as I pointed out above, we just don't play it. What's the point of having a mode in game that most of your players are just going to skip out on rather than put up with?

Just because those who like it are not praising it and those who hate it are raging all over the place does not mean that you are right on that statement.

An hour to find an enemy? What are you using? And what are you doing? If the enemy does not spawn, having a map or not wont change anything, you wont see it in neither case. And personally I have found a non-spawning situation only once (Truth be told, I don't play extermination very often). Tip, enemies make a sound. You will always know if there is one nearby even if you don't see it. Hard to pinpoint? Yes, Probably even impossible to do so, but you know it is near. Also, It is nowhere to be a maze. It is usually ridiculously linear. Maybe some dead roads here and there, hardly enough to get lost.

I wonder if people need the minimap to find the butter on the fridge or that shirt on the closet too...

Edit: My apologizes. After reading my own post I realize that it might sound a bit harsh, maybe even insulting. That was not my intention. I guess that to express my opinion I will need a better english or a wall of text to say something without sounding that bad. I just tried to respond the comment with some sarcasm and a counter argument and I think I failed to express the sarcasm properly and the argument can be hard to follow or even understand.

We should have a NM where ALL the ground is burning (not the current ship on fire). This burning ground does 50 damage per second. Players need to play like ninja to perform jumps from point to point onto crates and do ninja wall walking almost the entire session!

Hyperbole: Giving arguments undeniable credibility since never.

No map isn't actually a problem. I always get fast through nightmare missions even without minimap.

The real problem is the shield debuff.

Since I'm using Nova.

I'm too lazy to swap out my mod loadout.

Meh.

do you have an idea where the exit would spawn? or just lucky guesses? sorcery?

I've played this game for 400 hours, and the grineer galleons are the same every.. damn.. time.

I am tired of searching through them. I enjoy the fights, not the rerouting, random vent in the wall I'm missing, and general bullS#&$.
