magusat999
So just now I was doing the Gnathos alert, just a regular alert, no special prize or anything. We had a full squad but one guy decided to run way ahead and do nothing on the way. Guy should have just played solo the way he was rushing past everything. Meanwhile the real players were moving through at a regular, realistic group click. At some point it was announced that the objective was captured. I told the rusher (asked) "Could you at least kill your share of monsters?" - and he rudely replied "NO", and kept going. He had to wait for the rest of us at some point close to the extraction point because the elevator door needed two people to open. So the elevator rose up and the door opened. I stepped off and continued. I tried a locker door to the left of the elevator, and it wouldn't open... "looks like a problem", I thought. Well, I said to myself, at least there's nothing preventing us from getting to the extraction point. So I went there - no doors working, no monsters - nothing. I waited for the other players - I saw some movement. As I waited I texted "At least I know who to ignore when this is over, since you identified yourself, smart-&#!". And still waited. One player showed up. I checked to see if it was the inconsiderate one - it wasn't, thank God. Another player disconnected - not him either. Apparently some players were having more issues than doors not opening - someone couldn't move... I texted "Wouldn't it be funny if the game messed up and we couldn't finish?". At that point I would have felt justice even if I didn't finish the game - just as long as Mr. Rusher didn't get anything. So then the most vindicating thing happened. there was a Host Migration and Mr. Rusher was kicked out of the game! Only me and one player was left - the other one who had made it to the extraction point and didn't disconnect. I had the red capture glow and it was Mission Success! So Mr. Rusher got nothing for his work - as little as he did - his just desserts for being inconsiderate and smart-mouthed to boot.

VER1
Host migration could also mean he could have been placed into a duplicate of the current game without you and the other player. Also if the connection mysteriously started to bog down after you had been mouthing off at the rusher, he may have been the host and purposefully saturated his upload speed so you all potentially failed the mission for not 'being on his level' of space ninja speed. Vilemyre
Dear diary "Dear Diary Today I tried ambushing some Tenno after one of them murdered Vay Hek. I was hoping my arrival would make them tremble in fear but instead I got my butt kicked by a Mag and then a Rhino proceeded to strip search me for these things he calls "blueprints". Now every time I think about that traumatizing moment I have to take a cold shower and cry in the corner. I never thought it would end that way." -Stalker Also OP I don't see how you can feel justice for someone who will have to wait at extraction anyway for the rest of you. Timer only tends to trigger when there is two or more players at extraction. Edited August 1, 2013 by Palkora

Well that is not what happened in this case. The alert ended when we were playing so there's very little chance he could have been placed in another. And I told you in my post that me and the other player completed the mission (Mission Success). this is not a made up story, it;s what actually happened a few minutes ago, so while there are a lot of things that "can" happen, none of those good things happened for Mr. Rusher today. And if he did make it to a duplicate of the game - (by himself, I assume) - that's just as vindicating, he would still have done all he did for nothing - or at least have to play over again, even if it was part of the game I'd still be happy he didn't get to the finish in the one he was playing with me. I'd say it's fairly fair to be peeved when a guy joins a squad, ignores the squad, does nothing for and with the squad and says that he will continue to do nothing when asked to do something. Especially when rushers are the least of peoples worries in this game. I think you and I are looking at two different communities. I'd understand if it were a Vauban part or an energy siphon, etc... But credit alert... =\ Its not about the type of alert - its about an inconsiderate, selfish player getting his due. Doesn't matter what the award is - the fact is he was messing up the game for others, could care less about it when confronted, and he got nothing for it. Now I know there are some "I wanna play the gae the way I want to and forget other players" types, who are going to respond with sympathetic tones towards Mr. Rusher - but you cannot change the fact that he didn't get awarded for his play-style. Sorry but not today.

Stop acting so incredibly superior to him because you have different play styles. When someone says they feel vindicated, that means that they are sued to being victimized in some way and they are expressing an exception to the rule. Don't try to paint me as the "victimizer" - the reason I wrote about this is it is so rare that people who play like this get punished for their inconsiderate, selfish gameplay that when the event happens people like myself want to report it. Rushers, like this guy, are well known to be the ones who think THEY are superior - they think playing like that is "higher level play" and anyone who doesn't rush around like a scared chicken is a n00b player. THEY have no care, consideration or respect for others in their squad, and come in the boards defending their selfishness en masse. You cannot be an explorer, a treasure hunter or even a player trying to build up your Frame or equipment with them around because they rudely rush the game and rush to start the extraction timer. THEY have the superior attitude, not I. I just so happen to win the lottery on this one - they get their way, messing up everyone's game 99% of the time. And there is no way you could have known he if he got put in another map or not either - yet you keep pushing it as if you are holding out for hope that this guy got rewarded for his rude gameplay. There is a mode for people who want to play alone - its called SOLO. You don't join a squad and play like that. When you join a squad you are supposed to be cognizant that there are other people playing too, with all kinds of Frames and reasons they are there. You play for the team when you play with a squad, not just yourself. Otherwise, if your so big and bad and need nobody else, or just want to play your way you can always play solo. So why don't you stop leaning so heavily biased on one side as if Mr. Rusher can do no wrong? Like you said, there are different play-styles, yes? So that means rushing isn't the only one and you should consider THAT, no?

Are you also the kind of person who kills teammates during the ruk fight and never resurrects them? Actually I'm the kind of person who kills my share, stays in the team vicinity, revives people, tries to play so that other people share the points from kills, waits for slower and weaker players - and assists them when they are in trouble. I believe in a team player holding up his end of being part of a team. Its not about being petty or vindictive (did you people even read my post, or are you commenting on what other people say about it?). SO if I have righteous indignation about a player doing wrong its "petty and vindictive" - some of you make me glad I'm not talking about being a torture victim - I guess it would be my fault if someone kidnapped me and tortured me too... Boy there are a lot of high horses in here today - as if any one of you wouldn't feel vindicated if someone who was victimizing you finally got his just due. Cast the first stone people, cast the first stone.

It is easier to side with him when he isn't making posts trying to villianize someone while you express hate and speak so angrily. It isn't a huge deal anyway. The game isnt that difficult. Also, talking down to a person who doesn't agree with you, i.e. me, makes you seem really defensive..

magusat999
Okay here's one that will make all you dissenters happy: i was doing an alert with Rhino, who is naturally gifted with slowness. Two of the other squad kind of stayed with me while this one wonderful super soldier ran ahead, He was so great! He triggered alerts, and as the Pro he was didn't have to lift a finger to cipher them, because we did it all! There were hundreds of monsters left in his path, because being such a gifted, supreme player he could just run past them and leave all the mutated goodness to us! We were so overjoyed that he went so far we couldn't even even him on the mini-map anymore - we were amazed by his superiority! Two players died - but hey, he didn't need to revive them because we were there! So he completed the goal - and guess what - we didn't even have to be there. no opening up those pesky lockers or busting chests open - he showed us the way its supposed to be played. Ancient artifact, smanctient artifact, there's no time for that when your playing behind the fastest player ever! And then the real fun started - he went to the extraction point and the timer started - as we rushed to extraction, facing hundreds of mobs we were so pumped by all the goody-goody action! In the end, none of us got any credits because we couldn't make it to extraction, and one player died whom we couldn't get to because we were swamped with mobs - but we all learned that it doesn't matter. Just as all this was happening our hero was sitting there on the extraction point, being the winner over us all that he is; knowing better than all of us that his style of play is the only way while us n00bs contemplate the lessons we are to learn from the great master player... maybe one day we can be just like him. Does that make you dissenters feel better?

And then you come to the forums and brag because the game borked up and might have taken away and reward he got. Wanting to punish people for the act of playing differently than you is pretty petty dude. Getting angry because he doesn't have the same mindset as you it selfish as all getout. "At that point I would have felt justice even if I didn't finish the game - just as long as Mr. Rusher didn't get anything." This is a messed up attitude to have and your entire attitude makes you seem like a petulant child.

Dwaggie
He's playing the game the way he wants to, and he may not have been rewarded this time, but his time efficiency is surely noted from every other game he ever plays. Also the reason everyone is on a high horse is because your self-righteousness is not particularly enjoyed. Hard to say the rushers have supposedly a more superior attitude when all he said was "no" during the whole match, and you say you called him names. Perhaps he was angry at your playstyle as well? Just because DE says they don't particularly like speed runners doesn't mean you get to bash them. He was randomly selected to be in your match, and there a significant number of people who look to rush through the map. It's not his job to cater to the players he is randomly selected to be with. It's his job to play the game. How would you feel if you were the one slow person in a 3 man rushing match? What if YOU were told to play solo in order to play the way you want? I personally enjoy speeding through maps -- though I usually kill most of the things I run past as fast as possible. But when I'm at extraction waiting for some slower, more loot-happy players, I wait patiently and have time to, say, check the wiki. I expect others to have different playstyles, and I let them enjoy theirs and express my own. Perhaps you should as well.
