A Hint Of Things To Come?

In the last couple days I've probably run about 30 void missions trying to get forma. I've run many more before that. Yet tonight was the first time I've seen the extraction point look like this

Have I just been unlucky in not seeing this before or is this a rare sight indeed?

It seems strange though doesn't it? Rest of the void is fine and dandy but then all of a sudden you run into this. I was actually a bit startled, had a major "what the hell is going on here" moment.

Wonder if this is their way of hinting at a new void with new enemies coming soon. If so hope it comes with some lore because I imagine it'd be pretty interesting.

Currently my favorite sight in warframe. So pretty.

Incredibly pretty. Something about the overall concept really resonates with me.

This forgotten garden, its tenders long dead, goes on in exquisite ruin. That caring hands once moved here is unmistakable. Beneath its verdant doublet, the ancient metallurgy stands in splendor. I find myself gripped by growing wonder. What manner of souls built this place, that it persists unmoved by the arguments of time?

... I could wax grandiose about it for pages, but the art folks (and everyone else involved) have crafted a fantastic piece here. I remember the first time I saw this tile. Takeout had just gotten here. I stopped, turned all my graphics options up to 11, and just walked around it while I ate my dinner.

It was the kind of experience I would pay money for. This is the kind of argument I would give to people who say that video games aren't art. I can only imagine something like this with the Oculus Rift.

I. . . erg. . . there are warm feelings.

Your writing, sir, is a beautiful woman stretched languorously over sheets of finest silk, posture so perfectly expressing the phrase, 'come hither'.

I have a guess. I noticed it in our Dojo, in the great hall, on the ceiling there are 2 "trees", which are glowing, so I guess they are the Orokin "Power Cables", that means they don't use wires like we do, but this organic things.

But as it is with all living things, they grow if they are "fed", so the downside of this method of power transportation could be that you have to keep your cables in shape (like a hedge of some sort), because the "cables" are "fed" with the power they transport.

But because no one has been there for a long time, the grow unchecked, so the rooms we see like this could be very very veeery old, the oldest ones we've ever seen :D

Hrm...I've seen roots on extraction but not that much before...I don't think this happens on raid/exterms?

The screencap was takin from a T2 exterminate.

It's interesting there was less foliage when you saw it. Maybe it's a progression of sorts where eventually the room connecting to extraction will have it, then all the rooms connecting to that and so on until the entire map is covered. That would be pretty friggen fantastic.

I'm just going off a random idea here...but what if this is like a side effect of anti-Infection? I'm not saying it's the cure, but rather it's the Infection's opposite counterpart? The Orokin created the Technocyte to fight the Sentients, so what if they made their own version to wipe out the Orokin? There are many flaws in this logic, I know that already (for example, they have shinier plants growing throughout most of the Void), but maybe this random thought could help provoke us theorising more about the upcoming lore?

not sure whether it is coincidental or the tile design stuff actually referred to the associated stuff, but the orokin map and dojo reminded me of the Five Element/Virtues models originated in Ancient China. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wu_Xing)

Excerpt from wiki:

The five elements are usually used to describe the state in nature:
Wood/Spring: a period of growth, which generates abundant wood and vitality
Fire/Summer: a period of swellness, flowering, which overbrews with fire and energy
Earth: the in-between transitional seasonal periods, ...
Metal/Autumn: a period of harvesting and collecting
Water/Winter: a period of retreat, where stillness and storage pervades

So far, the Void Tower is pretty much Metal and Water, with Wood as all the "potted plants" (and certain kind of tiles/extraction points like OP).
Was wondering whether there will be more Fire/Earth? (Or could the turrets/laser Traps be seen as "Fire"?)

And maybe different Void Towers have different "inclination", e.g. a Void Tower with "Water" as dominant element will have more water ways/ fountains, one dominant in "Fire" will have more laser traps/turrets and one with "Wood" as dominant element will have more tiles that looks like OP, and more Chucks (potted plants). A "Metal" tower could have more enemies (or "gold" thingies). An "Earth" Tower will be balanced, having "normal" amount of features from all other Tower types.

Even if the level designers did not know this, it could be interesting if it can be worked into the lore and design, and potentually add more variants to Void Towers (and potentially more styles)

The Dojo could be expanded in similar way (Either integrated into the room design, or as optional decorations).
