Is she even viable anymore? I mean after that Chaos nerf, i honestly think she has nothing else to bring to the table.  Her chaos doesn't drag Aggro so basically it's useless, and it only does the amount adsorbed, it doesn't have a base amount like it should :\.

Have you used her after the Chaos nerf? She's still very viable, and amazing at keeping the group alive with Chaos even after it's nerf. I use her to what i think is great effectiveness and i've only built her last week.

 

EDIT: It seems you're confusing Chaos with Absorb. Try pairing up with a Vauban. When the Vauban uses Vortex, you use Absorb and it does a great amount of damage because of all the damage Vortex pumps into it.

Maybe you were just stuck in easy mode when Nyx's chaos skill didn't have 'a timer'. Chaos also "never dragged agro" as you put it. It made the monsters fight one another buying your team time, and narrowed down the opponents.

When you see a level 100+ Ancient tear a part entire groups of light infested in Waves above 25/30/35+. Let me know.

But then again. You sound, like you are ascertaining chaos was her only viable skill. Maybe the frame for you? Maybe you didn't try Mind Control of heavy units. Maybe you didn't have Constitution, Stretch, Flow or Streamline equiped.

Did you know Nyx was one of the first frames to get to Wave 100 they used Vauban, Nyx, Frost and Banshee? (http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:83873)

As far as I am concerned with Continuity and Constitution that is 50%+ duration and Stretch covers not half a bad area either.

I honestly think it'd kill 3 to 4 infested before one of your teammates killed it..

I agree with you OP. She was the only frame I ever bought and my first warframe love and yet the nerf killed her for me. They still haven't fixed her skills.

The duration thing on Chaos doesn't really hurt the power THAT much; on a defence mission you can pretty much have it running 24/7 soon as it drops. Chances are, the timer's not going to run out anyway, enemies will die before then. 

 

Absorb...yeah, Absorb's an issue. Thing is, according to the devs, Absorb already has Nyx draw as much aggro as is possible in the game right now. It's literally impossible for them to give her more aggro at the moment.

 

Yeah, yeah, I know, don't look at me like that. I'm just repeating what was said in one of the livestreams. I have Nyx too, I know Absorb isn't performing well enough.

She is a team player. Chaos iss good for giving your team breathing room, absorb is very good if paired with teammates, but does lose effectiveness pretty fast, like most other Ulti's.

 

A mind controlled healer will also heal you and your team-mates.

 

So Nyx is a Crowd-Controller and pseudo healer.

Nyx need a rework on her #2 and #4 no doubts.

 

Mind Control and Chaos are still very effective.

 

One tweak i would do to Mind Control is to allow us to control more than 1 foe at once as we level up the skill (up to 3 on max lvl) it would be awesome.

Apologies, I mustn't be following things close enough. What Nyx nerf are we talking about? Chaos is one of the most fun powers to use, in my opinion.

Back in Update 7 (Have to get the exact notes)

Update Notes 7.10

 

CHANGES:

  • Allow users to zoom out & view entire star chart so long as session isn't public (i.e. user is waiting for random players to join via matchmaking) and final countdown isn't running.
  • Mod Fusion screen now resizes based on viewport size and uses a scroll bar.
  • Charged melee glows now; uses energy color from color picker.
  • All Shotguns get a boost, effective range increased. Hek is boosted further than Strun and Boar.
  • Gorgon rifle accuracy increases.
  • Snipetron now has Armor Piercing damage by default, but with a slight increase to recoil.
  • Burston rifle hip fire accuracy increases.
  • Braton damage buff.
  • Corpus Crewman head shot armor piercing multiplier reduced.
  • Saryn's Moult power now has a timer, was highly exploitable
  • Nyx's Chaos power now has a timer. <===
  • Can no longer join alert missions after they’ve expired.
  • Replaying an alert mission that you’ve already successfully completed will no longer award credits.

The timer wasnt my real problem with the nyx nerf( I still didnt like it of course), It was the fact you could only cast it once, were previously you could cast it multiple times just in case you missed anyone. Also the fact that they nerfed her main skill but didnt bother to fix or buff her other 3 lackluster skills.

Nyx still ='s 2nd best Frame to take on Solo Defense missions with proper weapons, beaten only by Vauban during Infested, Frost during Grineer/Corpus.

 

Simple fact is @ pluto defense against the infested can just sit ontop of a crate and spam Chaos to let the enemies pretty much take care of themselves for 15 waves without much risk to the pod.

 

Nyx = Best frame to go in with low weapon gear on any mission.

Basically just slap on all energy related mods, take your level 1 weapons out and spam chaos as you walk through any ship unhindered and able to use your low level weapon with ease, racking up the kills. 

 

Nyx = Most hilarious frame ever award too!

 

Go to Phorid and drag an army of infested behind you, chaos at the boss room. Watch the cannibalism ensue. Epic.

Nyx isnt viable? I didnt hear more stupid statement, maybe even stupider than "Vauban Bastille is useless, it doesnt kill anything". Chaos scales with enemies levels and MC is always helpful. As i see it, if Nyx get fix to Bolts and Absorb we will need another tier that is above God tier.

 

 

Damn it people, dont spit on the frames before you learn how to play them. If you cannot play some frame because that frame doesnt suit your gameplay, there are other frames. I seen so many "I want to play this frame, but it isnt what i expected to be, so it sucks" threads around.

 

In general, Nyx has the best cc around and only need some tweaks on Bolts and complete rework of Absorb. Even without them she is still one of the best frames in game.
