Lek5tacy
Does Warframe need the introduction of a weight component for weapons? I think it would add another level of customization and also balance out weapon choice. Each Warframe would have to have a base weight carrying stat, and if your weapons exceed that then your stamina recharge and drain is increased and overall speed is reduced, alternatively, if you have a reduced carry load then your stamina recharge and drain is decreased and your overall speed is increased. This would also open up the door for new mods. Weapon weight reduction mods and also carry weight increase mods for your warframes.

Angius
Nobody will reduse their weapon weight with mods, it's better to add Metal Auger, or anything.Besides, I imagine Loki running slower than Rhino, because Rhino took Fang, Viper and Braton, and Loki took Seer, Flux and Gram...Just no. Probably because people want to be running at full speed with their Nova's carrying an Ogris, Dual broncos and a Scindo. Weight, I would imagine, might make people actually consider taken a non-dual version of a secondary.

We are space ninjas, we should be floating around anyway..... Secondly even artifical gravity wouldn't be comparative to gravity on some of the planets. also wearing super advanced power armor, weapon weight is nothing to a warframe. By that logic, why bother having different run speeds for warframes and the Stamina stat, after all we are wearing super advanced power armor? But we do have those stats, so shouldn't our choices have an affect on them? Edited August 1, 2013 by Lek5tacy
Wormyish
By that logic, why bother having different run speeds for warframes and the Stamina stat, after all we are wearing super advanced power armor? Doesn't change the fact that warframes like rino and frost contain more mass, making them heavier when gravity is there.
Lek5tacy
Doesn't change the fact that warframes like rino and frost contain more mass, making them heavier when gravity is there. That's the point, an Orgis will have more mass than a Braton.
Wormyish
That's the point, an Orgis will have more mass than a Braton. Of course, but not as much as the difference in warframes.

taiiat
That's the point, an Orgis will have more mass than a Braton. but if you have a living suit of armor that augments your physical abilities many times over, you aren't going to care about the weight of your gear. please keep in mind U.S. Marines are usually carrying 250lb of total gear on them when out in missions. and marines can run, jump, scale walls and cliffs, climb ropes, etc - just fine. now if we augment humans, that amount vastly increases. so the 'carry limit' of any frame should be a couple tons, and a set of 3 weapons most certainly won't weigh that much. thusly, this would be a useless feature. Angius
in any case adding weight for loadout will make you think twice what you want to bring with you and what kind of missun you are up for. I'm playing for fun. I'm jumping into a mission with Fragor, Vasto and Gorgon, and I'm making meatballs from enemies with my Rhino. And I want, that we'll keep it that way. I don't want to look through tables, comparing weights to damage, choosing between Supra, which weights more, but has also more DPS, or Braton, which is lighter, but don't have as much damage. I don't want to not being able to take heavy meele and heavy primary at once, because they are too heavy. And I don't want to loose mobility. Besides, we have goddarn space suits, with shields, nano-armor, fancy powers, and God knows what else, but we can't carry some more kilograms? Thats the thing, that I call bull***t. I'm sorry, but I have to say, that you are wrong. I don't have problems playing RPGs, RTSs, turn-based games, logic games, etc. It's all about which game is made for what. Warframe is made for pure fun. C'mon, we have space ninja in biomechanical suits, shooting lazers and rockets, using insane powers and fighting with oversized battleaxes. Sounds like pure fun, isn't it? Why are you guys trying to make this game more complicated? If you want intelectual challenges, go play Fez or Vessel. If you want to check your eqipement every mission, to check, if maybe you can change something on lighter version to increase speed/stamina/powers/libido, go play Mass Effect 3. Or Skyrim. Or - I dunno - Far Cry 3. Warframe is not one of those super over-sophisticated games, where you have tons of tables telling you weight, length, densiy of used materials, manufacturer, date of production and two pages of lore. And it's better to keep it that way. If I want to use my intellect, I can go on MENSA forums, and solve Einstein's Riddle, or discuss about Grandfather Paradox. Here I want fun. And let me quote myself: Besides, we have goddarn space suits, with shields, nano-armor, fancy powers, and God knows what else, but we can't carry some more kilograms? But this isn't an rpg. It's a light-hearted shooter. Name me another fast-paced shooter that requires more inventory management than the "Primary/Sidearm/Misc" that we have here. From CoD, to Planetside 2, this is pretty standard. The only thing I can think that takes it farther is Borderlands, which is far more of an rpg than this game ever will be. Also, while the die-hard players, and the min-maxers might be fine with more restrictions, and making it harder, pushing to new builds - This game's playerbase is mostly people who are relatively casual about it. Which also means that most of DE's money comes from those casual gamers, who could be scared off by a change as massive and possibly build/fun-crushing as this. I think that this system works fine - in other games. I just don't see any need for it here, since there would be a handful of people happy about it, a horde of people who didn't care, and a decent chunk of people who would leave or play less/stop paying because of it. Tsukinoki
@HoboHobo Exactly. I play this game to have fun killing things and trying various weapons. When I want to worry about weapon weight, accessory weight, and mobility and armor and how they all interplay and affect each other I'll play MC/MW/AC and have fun trying to balance out to something that works for me. This game isn't made with the idea of being super complex and requiring a lot of tactics/specialised builds. And DE has actually stated in a few places that the reason that they haven't included some things is that they would prefer that their game be simpler and therefore more accessible to a larger audience of people.
