Because if you keep killing everything with Ogris only Primaries get the bonus exp. Not Secondary, and not melee. That is why Defense heros exist. That is why I run off to be alone from you so I can level my secondary... and not be in range of your Ogris/sniper/other long range weapon. I don't want you near me, but I want you protecting the pod. I don't want you killing my kills unless your using a secondary when I use Secondary, or melee when I use melee... The exp is great and all... and I love the bonus exp on my other weapons, but sometimes I really want to level something badly along side the other weapons... not just the one type of weapon. If someone ask nicely please do it for them... Venera, and Kiliken are so easy a secondary, and melee could easily dominate... its not like I am asking you to play Xini with melee for the first 5 waves.. I would never ask that at Xini, but I would at such easy beginner level defense missions like Venera, and Kiliken because the first 5 waves are EASY... so EASY a level 1-6 weapon can easily mow down enemies in waves 1-5. Infact most players take beginner gear to Venera, and Kiliken.. I do it all the time after at least play the gear through Caloris on a single run solo all out using that one weapon only, alone... Then after a good solo exterminate, I run off to Venera to speed level the gear, properly mod it, and then use it some place else. Someday you will be glad you helped a player level their gear... cause they might just save your butt some time down the line... Treat others as you wish to be treated they say... Heck I had a bad day trying to level gear on Caloris online today... why? noobs ditched me when Stalker came so in that room where we infected the generator I climbed up to the ceiling and used that area to kill him since he can't reach me, but seriously... Venus, and Mercury are levels for building up gear at their lowest levels. Help out on leveling gear once in awhile. If I use Secondary the entire mission, and everyone else uses Primary.. my Primary exp goes through the roof, and my secondary barely gets a dent of exp in it when I can't get a kill and Ogris steals all my kills... its what I have seen over, and over... BUT you should form your own team rather than act like you are the PUG Team Captain. I do work with a lot of people, especially when asked nicely. But don't come in here ranting because you didn't get your way.Also, be thankful there are people out there that don't constantly Rhino stomp, or fire Ogris 2 feet in front of you no matter where you are, or constantly use Nova's ultimate simply because a modded Nova is swimming in energy in defense missions. I could be an &#! and tell everyone to just stand at the pod so I can cast the ultimate and kill everything so all of the drops will be in one spot. Makes sense (for one), but not going to happen. If someone goes in to level a weapon, you have no right to tell them whether to use primary or secondary.Please be considerate when expecting others to do the same. If other teammate kills anything, you get 25% xp on all your items. If you kill anything with a primary , you get 50% primary xp and 50% frame xp and squad members get 25% on all stuff , if you use ability to kill something you get 100% frame xp. ^Why people like to be leechers. I just can't seem to level Broncos when I still don't have enough mod points for higher magazine count even with two cards stacking the magazine 5 bullets isn't enough to get the Broncos to kill something and level it at all... I am not 100% on this but I think It doesn't matter what weapon other people use, if they get a kill 25% of the xp goes to each weapon+warframe. So overall while you will not be getting as many kills with your secondary you will be getting more xp because you will be in range of the others. edit ninjaed Edited August 2, 2013 by Finch. From now on I'm playing Nova with an Ogris in defense and all the kills shall belong to me. I once did a test, Stomped in Kappa so much I got over 700 kills. Result? Team members got around 50k exp for each weapon, while I only got 5k.
