Post-It Note

I still think no minimap is a good idea for defense maps. Not mobiles, just regular. It removes a minor crutch and causes you to focus more on what's going on around you.

Secondly, I think no minimap would be acceptable on all maps if a "buff" was added that allows for a better waypoint marker or some other visibly obvious way to point you in the direction you're supposed to go.

"Tenno, our radar is being jammed. We are trying to compensate, but in the meantime, I have added a homing proximity beacon to your Heads-Up Display that should assist you in locating your objective."

Obviously removing the minimap on nightmare was a great idea because it seriously frustrated 99% of nightmare map users. It seems like the main problem was how unplayable it made the game, though. By adding functions to enhance playability, it should remove any cause for concern that you all seemed to have. Thoughts?

Also, as an afterthought, putting a post-it note over the minimap only serves to make you a worse teammate. Putting that note over your own minimap drags the rest of the team down, and it's only your fault. You can't blame the game. "Why are you going so slow X_player?" 'Oh well I put a post-it note over my minimap.' "Are you trying to make us lose?"

My thoughts are you're quite right but implementing the lack of map before you can actually navigate a level visually was stupid as hell

Yeah, that was my thought as well. I was just trying to give a more level-headed response to the issue rather than the majority of players that just yelled "OMG THIS SUXXX KILL IT OMG" without explaining why it was bad or how it could be improved. CoD kids, not giving actual input to developers of games in development, really tick me off.

That could very well be a viable option for not having a mini.map, it could also work with just having a more linear route to the objective. Personally i liked  the exploration that was required to complete the mission, got a bit more tense that way!

No minimap was just bad. Not hard, not fun, simply frustrating. The only thing it did was make extraction and finding your objective a chore. If there were set maps it would have been fine. With the current random size randomly generated map system it was simply an exercise in frustration.

Or... play without UI.. cause this is a thing.

That's actually what I do most of the time, for defense and things. But not for Raid for this exact reason.

I've tried it, but there's way to much info lost in that case.

I have a grudge against Farcry 3 because of their obnoxious UI, feels like someone is poking you in the eye...

I was thinking of using this as an excuse to raid every locker with Master Thief.
