A List Of Dojo Ideas And Additions

Here is a list of ideas people have submitted in the Dojo Feedback section of the Warframe Forums. I am merely listing and summarizing the ideas I have seen.

Dojo Navigation

-Teleports
Many Dojos are extremely large and labrynthine. Perhaps set a Teleportation node in the middle of the Clan Hall. Once activated by a player, a map is brought up of the Dojo. Whichever room the player selects is the room he/she will be teleported to.
-Dojo Map
The addition of some sort of directorial map of the Dojo that can be placed in certain locations of the Dojo.
-Directories
As mentioned, many Dojos are maze-like structures. There should be a free decoration where the Dojo Architect or whomever has permissions to build can place directories over doors or in hallways that direct players to certain areas of the Dojo. For example, there are two rooms on either side of a T-Shaped connector. A directory would point and name which room is which.



Dojo Decoration

-Decoration Editing
Give the option to edit Dojo Decorations after they have been placed and built.
-More Refined Dojo Decorating
Provide the option for Dojo Architects or whomever has build permissions to enter a better decoration/building view. An example of this would be the editing modes in Far Cry 3 or Halo Forge.
-Greater Natural Decoration
Considering players already have the option to place a Koi Pond, players should also be given the ability to place larger foliage akin to the planters in the Void; Large trees, gardens, Waterfalls, etc.
-Holographic Clan Emblem
Since players can place banners, the option to place banners displaying the Clan Logo would be an appreciated addition.

-Sentinel Nursery

A purely aesthetic Dojo addition. Contains "infant" organic Sentinels such as Shade and Wyrm, as well as a building station for the mechanical Dethcube.

-Dojo Pet

Adds an aesthetic pet of the Warlord's choosing to the Dojo. Pet can be either Wyrm, Shade, or Dethcube. A Wyrm pet will move around, cleaning the Dojo floors will jets of air. A Shade pet will drift lazily along the ceiling, occasionally stopping to attach itself to a pillar for a nap. A Dethcube pet will hover along corridors playing music and emitting beeping noises.

-Interactive Dojo Decoration

Some players don't enjoy the fact that the current Dojo Decorations are just... there. To fix this, the current dojo decorations should be able to be interacted with (such as lighting incense) and/or adding new, interactive dojo decorations.

-Door Editing
Provide the ability to remove doors in certain areas of the Dojo. Some players would have an easier time navigating if they can see what is ahead of them; a door blocking their view of what is ahead doesn't help.



Dojo Additions

-Oracle Additions
Give the Dojo Oracle something to do either than simply acting as a wall between players and research. Perhaps give specialised research such as Dojo upgrades, power and capacity efficiency, etc.

-Bounty Room

Addition of a room that will allow access to clan challenges such as assassinations, captures, runs, etc. Challenges would scale to clan tier.

-Dojo Docking Bay

An optional tile in the Dojo similar to the Grineer Docking and Corpus Docking Bays. Window out to space and docked Tenno spacecraft.

-Orokin Laboratory

Additional research lab for Orokin weaponry such as the Orokin Laser Rifle.

-Ghost Barracks

A barracks for Ghost clans. They need some love too.

-Matter Forge

Used to upgrade a lower tier resource to a higher tier resource, downgrade those resources, and transmute one resource into another resource of equal value.

-Dojo Library

Include the ability to access and research Game Lore in a Dojo Library.

-Museum

A dedicated room for Clan Statues, both the standard statues and the statues earned in events. There should also be the option to mount decorative clan weapons on walls, among other things to show off for the clan.

-Sentinel Laboratory

Add a terminal or room where it is possible for players to research upgrades for their existing Sentinels, Sentinel Weapons, and Sentinel Abilities. In addition to this, give players the power to create new Sentinel abilities and weapons.

-Dojo Bulletin Board

A place for Clan Warlords to place Messages of the Day, event ideas and times, among other things.

-Dojo Armoury

Some players would like a more interactive Dojo. One way of accomplishing this is a Dojo Armoury, where players can complete their own personal research, weapon building, blueprint purchasing, etc.

-Dojo Shooting Range
Add an in-Dojo Shooting Ranger where players can test the range, damage, mod power, etc of their Regular and Clan-Tech weapons.
-Dojo Map Room
We've all seen this one. Either provide a dedicated map room with a map of the Solar System, or have it be a decoration addition that can be added to the Clan Hall.
-Addition Dojo Duel Rooms
Give different kinds of duel rooms, akin to a Danger Room. Provides different locales to fight in such as Grineer, Corpus, and Infested Tilesets.
-Clan Vault
We've all been asking for this one. Since all refunded clan building resources are kept in a non-physical clan vault, many players would enjoy having an actual vault. With this vault, players can donate directly to it, making it easier for Warlords and Architects, or whomever has building permissions, to more easily begin construction of facilities.
-Dojo as Main Menu UI
Add an option for players to use their clan dojo as the Main Menu UI, complete with Mission Selection, Contact Selection, Arsenals, and everything that is available in the Main UI. This will only work with players both in a clan and possessing the proper hosting permissions.
-Additional Dojo Obstacle Courses
Self-Explanatory
-Dojo "Danger Room"
Give players the ability to test out weapons, abilities, and their teamwork in a "Danger Room" complete with boss battles and multiple kinds of gametypes such as Endless Defense, Survival, Capture, and Rescue.



Dojo Changes

-Setting of Dojo Spawnpoints
Many Warlords detest how adding a new location such as a Great Hall or an additional Clan Hall to increase capacity also sets a new spawnpoint. Therefore, give Warlords the ability to set Dojo spawnpoints.

-Unified Dojo Research Terminal

Instead of having research spread across multiple rooms and taking up space, set the Oracle to be the unified research station for the Dojo.

-Dojo Launch Room

Combine the Ui with a room in the Dojo so clan members can access locations directly from the Dojo.

-Decoration Docking Points

Special points in the Dojo tiles where decorations can automatically lock in place, for those Symmetry OCDs.
-Dojo Designs
Give players the ability to choose the design of the Clan Dojo, as the current Tenno-Orokin theme is at times rather dull. Many players have been calling for the extravagant style of the Orokin Void tilesets, so these would be the go-to alternate design.
-Room Upgrades
For some Clan Dojos, having to build multiple rooms that can increase capacity and energy takes up tons of space. Instead of having to build many, many halls and reactors, players should instead have the ability to simply build one and either upgrade their energy and capacity from there, or give the Oracle a purpose and perform Dojo upgrades there.

-Clan Emblem Pooling

Many players are bringing up how expensive the Clan Emblem is. Instead of each person paying an individual 30 plat in addition to the initial 150, there should instead be the possibility to pool clan resources in order to buy it for everyone.
-Better Dojo Redesigning
As it serves currently, redesigning a Dojo requires whomever has building permissions to destroy everything and start over again; a long and tedious process. Instead of this system, there should be the ability for whomever has building permissions to enter a "Redesign UI" where that player can simply click and drag rooms and pieces around, whilst also being able to build and destroy them as normal.

If you're really willing to keep an organize list of every suggested room...

 

A long while back, I came up with a "mod lab" idea once...

(...Which ended up being exactly like the new mod shop idea they recently announced.)

 

Also Ghost Barracks. I like the look of the room, but am upset that I can't build one without upgrading tiers.

 

Then there's... umm... The Mission/Ready room someone suggested once, (which Steve liked) and also the Shrine/Polarity Worship room Steve brought up. I'll go look for those in a bit.

 

...Also an Archery Range.

I would like to be able to define rooms other than the starter hall as the default login spot for my members. One of the additional halls would be ideal or even a central hallway next to our labs and elevators.

What I would very much like to see is the option of changing the base-texture of the Dojo. I find that it gets very depressing to see this grey-brown; especially after visiting an Orokin Tower. That's why I'd like DE to create style-options. So a clan leader could choose between the current Tenno-style or Orokin-style.

 

Personally I find the white-gold of the Orokin much more warm and soothing; whereas the grey-brown of the Clan Dojo is very cold and depressing (in my opinion).

 

Also, I would very much like to see a Dojo redesign feature. Currently a lot of dojo's are haphazard hodge-podge collections of twisting corridors, multiple halls, random generators andsoforth. Allowing the clan architect to 'restyle' the existing rooms into a new design would (in my opinion) be a great way to get things back on track. However, we'd need an ingame builder program in order to do that.

 

So basically, you go to this 'dojo builder' and click on 'redesign existing layout'. Then the system lists all your current rooms and corridors and brings up the current layout of the dojo as well as the available Energy and Capacity. Then the architect can use this existing layout to reposition each individual object or even merge a Clan Hall with a Greater Hall so you don't have multiple halls all over the place. If there would be connectors missing after this, the system would allow you to set those up for construction so they would be open for contributions immediately.

 

With this, a random collections of connectors, multiple halls and generators in random spots could be changed into a more functional and less confusing dojo.

So we have been given ornaments which are hard to precisely place if you which to place them in the middle of a room.

 

But we do not have this option to place on walls.

I get lost in my dojo often.

Sure the little unit which gets placed in any random corner does have a message option but it could be done much better by adding the option for the above.

 

But Tenno dojo style.

This is quite important. As of now, there are NO "long hallways," which means you're required to build T-shapes or Cross-shapes to get one point to the other, which also means you're taking up room for nothing (and putting yourself in the risk of encountering unwanted dead ends).

There are a few things I would like DE to consider.

 

The ability to craft 'skins' for your dojo rooms. You basically go to a dedicated room (Oracle pherhaps?) and start the construction of a new look for your dojo. I would love to make a few of our rooms look like forests (like the overgrown extraction point in some Void Towers), something more ninja-y in the Japanese style, or a copy of the Orokoin Void towers! Imagine the possibilities.

 

Another thing I've been thinking about would be a mission control room, you know, with the Solar system map. I mean, when you join each other in a lobby you are clearly kneeling the way you can in your hall, and you are all gathered around a projection. Why not make a room for it so you can team up, set up a lobby, and select a mission from your own HQ? Makes sense right, especcially with all the wonky troubles people have with the invitation system and hosting a group. (Joining the same Dojo is no problem but we can't host a lobby for each other to do levels together... Rrrrright >.>)

I'm going to suggest something.

 

Combat Simulation Room

 

Basically it will be a room which you and some clan mates can simulate combat to test weaponry. (not pvp)

You can select the level of enemies you want, the type and how many that will spawn.

 

or/and

 

Training Room

 

It will contain invincible dummies which you can practice firing at to see the damage made by your weapon. You will be able to adjust the level of these dummies aswell to test your weapons at higher levels.
