MXultra Posted August 2, 2013 Share Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) After having played Nova, I have been converted to the anti-nerf campaign. It is clear Mprime needs to scale with the enemies so as not to make it boring for her allies at low levels or have her be relegated to a support frame at high levels. But simple damage nerfing is not the way, so how do we do it? I've read some good suggestions such as having blast damage be based on enemy health. But I think there might be some other clever options so I made this thread to compile possible solutions. I will update the first post to add cool suggestions even if this turns into a 10 pager. To be clear: THIS IS NOT A NEW THREAD FOR ARGUING WHETHER OR NOT TO NERF. The list: 1. Blast damage based on enemy health - This will require a lot of tweaking on DE's part to make sure that it works reasonably at start, mid, and end game. 2. All connected blasts trigger when an enemy dies but survivors remain primed - This would require lowering the damage of individual blasts, but it would allow the rest of the team to contribute by making kills that effect the primed group instead of one person triggering all the kills immediately. 3. AOE blast from Nova whenever a primed enemy dies - She primes a group and then must stay in the vicinity of the group as her allies cause her to explode repeatedly. This would require keeping the glass cannon in dangerous situations and thus good Nova players would be admired by their allies. Any change is going to effect Nova's playstyle so we need the community's brainpower and individual experience to run imaginary testing simulations of these ideas and respond with their assessments. If you set it on 20% of enemy hp it will mean that 5 blast will kill any enemy while atm heavy gunners 130lvl will still stand while their whole weak escort blows at their faces. Point "2" with "1" will make it a real killing machine. Point "3" will promote recklessness and thus make her unviable for anyone but the best of the best. Right now enemies only explode when they die, the survivors didn't actually explode themselves. Okay, maybe having her explode while downed promotes recklessness, so we'll scrap that. Otherwise, I think it would be reasonably skillfull. She has the speed to run circles around enemies, and if she could rely on her teammates to be making the kills, she could focus on evasion. Right now, there can be survivors of other enemies explosions, but they didn't actually explode themselves. True i misread and changed that as soon as noticed. But also you need to remember that frames should be viable in both solo and squad. Making her so dependable on allies is bit too much i say.
