What Happened To Grineer Eviscerators?

Personally, I hate the amount of staggering force the Grineer units already have, but the Eviscerator was one unit I was unhappy to say goodbye to.

In mid-lower level Grineer missions, we see a sea of blue and tan (with the occasional heavy, scorcher, powerfist, or cleaver-wielding bullet-sponge), but the Eviscerator was finally a unit that didn't shoot bullets and didn't look like a recolored medium-sized unit. They also posed a threat when it came to higher-levelled missions as well (Decent scaling, IMO).It was refreshing to see a slightly different unit on the Grineer tilesets, and I'm surprised I haven't seen any threads about this thus far!

On a side note, I'd LOVE to see their unique weapons as a part of clan research; something about a shotgun that fires crowd-controlling, staggering blades makes me giggle on the inside.

Constructive support/criticism is widely appreciated on both ideas; if you "+1" or dislike them, tell me why!

Hope they didn't go the way of the informer :(

Well, that event was tailored to specifically destroying those pesky drones, and a lot of players didn't like them. They have a lore-supported reason for not coming back.

True, but still hope they didn't go extinct though. (and some informers could have survived... they could be used as mobile alarms)

They were my favorite units to fight, but I don't think the grineer saw cannon fits into any of the clan tech categories, and as such shouldn't be clan tech. It doesn't utilize chemical incendiaries or explosives, is obviously not a corpus weapon, and definitely doesn't fall into the biological research tier. It should be a weapon accessible through the market as opposed to the dojo (even though I have all stuff researched).

I'd like to see a small number of eviscerators spawn. They were terrifying to fight and I had a lot of fun with that, considering you had to prioritize killing eviscerators over other enemy types. Eviscerator might also be an allusion to the ripper, an Unreal Tournament weapon from 1999 (which DE had a hand in developing/porting).

DE did not disappoint with this enemy type, and I'd like to see it return.

Perhaps saw cannons utilize a chemical means of propulsion? The reason I'm debating this is because we lack Grineer (and Infested for that matter) research weapons in comparison to Corpus tech. Building on that is the fact research "shotguns" do not yet exist.

That aside, thanks for the ideas and support!

I found them too threatening compared to other Grineer units. They were more dangerous than heavies yet they didn't stand out nearly as much, but they were still tougher than lancers and seekers.

I think they needed some tweaking... something didn't fit there.

The reasons I didn't particularly find them threatening are because of their lack of accuracy and they're not nearly as "scary" as heavies because they have significantly less armor, shields, health, and they lack the radial knockdown.

Having killed somewhere around 18,000 Grineer myself, it becomes easy to pick "Waldo" out of a crowd. Also, low-levelled eviscerators were introduced; newer players would find and recognize their behaviour in earlier missions.

Though they can be perceived as a threat, I see Eviscerators as another diverse challenge we'll need to overcome whilst decimating the Grineer army.

You sure ???

They are definitely not that threatening when compared to heavies.

They are inaccurate, they only they can actually score a reliable hit if you are standing completely still, they don't have splash damage (Napalm/bombard), they don't have hit scan weapons (most grineers even heavy gunners).

This is compensated by their power and ability to ricochet which seems to miss me all the time.

The eviscerators were actually the band members aboard the fomorian ships. So they remained on board, playing their musical saws as the ships went down.

they had the hearts of a true sea space captain going down with the ship, on a side note grineer has a strange taste of music

Woa woa guys, calm down.

They are not gone. (Well ... for now they are I guess.)

The evisceraters where shown way back in the grineer settlement concept are and the model in the live stream with the notification that is where you would find them.

In other words; wait for the grineer settlement map to unlock.

For those of us who haven't seen this, could you provide us with an img or link?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm.

It was in livestream #6.

The summary (list) is on the wki here:

http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Tnargraef/Livestream_6_Highlights

It shows the images shown on the bottom. (including the face of the eviscerators)

This is the live stream, should be in here somewhere.

Can't be more precise, was a good while ago:

http://www.twitch.tv/warframe/c/2349550

Could be more parts of in in the later live streams, not sure though.  (I'm a scatterbrain >.>  )

Well, they'd take 500 hp away from me in one shot, so yeah, I always targeted them first (after stunning heavies with some electricity of course). They were not particularly accurate, but they made up for that by spawning in droves during the defense operation!

I wonder though, when (not if) we get the Eviscerator weapon... will it be clan research?

As people said, decreasing their spawn rates can be good because of how ridiculous it can be having all those saws flying around. They could do like Bombards and Napalms; I rarely see both these heavy units in the spawn roulette of a mission, which means they could make it so that Eviscerators replace Scorches in some missions, or Seekers.

I would like to see them back, and I'm sure they would. If you guys read about the "Victory" page in the Lore, under the Operation Sling-Stone, there are foreshadowing of the new event I believe (in direct relation to the Fomorians), which may be the Grineer Settlement:

http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Grineer_Settlement -- I believe we'll see the Eviscerators again when we unlock that, like somebody else mentioned too.

In the livestream, Steve talked about unlocking the Grineer Settlement through a future event (next weekend?). He also said that it's possible, just like the Fomorian event, to fail it and block us from this new map or something. So let's get ready for what's to come.
