Cyrus jumped for joy inside of his mind. Perhaps involving Tenno?

"There!" he called out, pointing towards the road that ran along by the docks. "A taxi is coming down towards us! Let me try and flag it down."

The Corpus bounded towards the road, stepping out a little while waving his hands to catch the driver's attention.

The shape of the crates caught Geordie's eye. Yep....those look like people-shaped boxes from up here....hopefully warframe-shaped boxes.

Geordie took mental note of the warehouse location, planning to come back later if he needed to. Deep in thought, he made his way back down to the street, hoping he didn't look all too suspicious. Once he reached the street, he dusted off his hands and looked around. What now? I can't go in there alone and wreck shop...especially with all the guards. He sighed, readjusting his cloak. The utter....grayness of Perennial bothered him.

Hoping to fend off the mild sense of ennui, Geordie wandered back towards the hotel. Maybe he could find something interesting to do on the way, or, if not, perhaps he could ask at the desk. Maybe I can do some eavesdropping or something...

@bowiespoon should I add more or did it just get buried? 😮

Before he could even get a block away from the warehouse, Geordie spotted the black-clad figure and its handlers again. They were following in Geordie's footsteps, with the armored figure taking the lead. It walked with an odd slump, and its head moved oddly, as if scanning or sniffing for something.

"I just don't get it," one of the two guards whispered, as though afraid of the armored figure overhearing, "What the hell is it looking for?"

"Not the slightest f*cking clue," the second guard whispered back, "Should we force it to go back to its designated checkpoint? They'll be wondering where we are."

"If you wanna try making one of the drowned do something it doesn't want too, go right ahead. They might seem docile normally, but once they catch a whiff of void... stuff... they'll carve through anything in their path to get to the source."

"Then what do we do?"

"We wait until it gets bored, then drag it over to the checkpoint."

As the driver skidded to a stop, nearly hydroplaning over the water, Ebony all but dove into the car.

"Takeustotherefugeedistricthereissomemoneysteponit." she said rapidly, practically throwing a handful of credits at the driver.

The man behind the wheel blinked, and looked for a moment as if he was going to object, but then he noticed Ebony's uniform and reluctantly began to drive towards the refugee district, albeit at a much less reckless speed than the previous cab.

Kamos slipped into the Void disappeared a split second before the armored figure could land a hit, and reappeard a split second later behind the figure. He quickly emptied the pistol's magazine whilst backing up.

Atela reloaded while the figure attacked Kamos, and opened fire again. Even though the shots had little effect, they were extremely distracting, and would likely force the figure to split its attention.

In one fluid motion, the armored figure spun around and backhanded Kamos with enough force to send him sprawling. It then surged forward, strange barrels popping out of its arms and spraying a jet of the same caustic black sludge that coated its claws, causing whatever it touched to dissolve immediately.

Atela's fire glanced off the figure's formidable armor for the most part, but one lucky round managed to land in one of the creature's joints, causing a spray of black liquid to erupt from the wound. As the guards at the checkpoint began to reorganize, they started to focus their fire at her.

Geordie swore internally. He risked some time to circle around and backtrack as much as he could, hoping to confuse or bore the creature or, at least, its handlers. Can't mask it any further, the stupid implant is already cranked up as high as I can get away with...best I can do is make this the wildest goose chase they've ever been on...

He circled around a building, then squeezed between a dumpster and the wall in an alley before doing his best to merge with the passers by on a more populated street. The buzzing in his lower back combined with hairs standing up on the back of his neck to form what could only be described as the ultimate heebie-jeebies. He hated being followed when he couldn't outright run from the thing.

At a loss for any better idea, he continued back to the hotel.

Kamos struggled for a few critical moments to get back on his feet, and he could swear he had broken a couple of his ribs. He finally made it back up, and reentered the void once again. He reappeared directly behind the figure, cautious of the liquid. He quickly fired a wave of void energy (The force-push thingy), attempting to stagger the figure, before emptying another clip into any armor joints near anywhere that looked vital.

Atela, now forced to deal with multiple guards, attempted a risky maneuver, to say the least. She ejected the clip of her Azima, and it landed several meters away, spinning rapidly and hovering just above the ground. Atela quickly threw herself to the ground, as the floating disc started firing off a torrent of bullets. The shots went over her, and (ideally) hit the guards.

(Gotta love that Azima ability)

Jane sprints into the shadows on the rooftops and swiftly slides behind a nearby exit on the building she was on, breathing at a haggard pace. Keeping her red tinted dagger up at chest lever, she digs into her backpack with her gun hand and pulls out a cylindrical object.

Taking a steadying gulp of air, she leans around the corner and tosses the object at the manic in the middle of the bunch, claws being desperately parried by Celeste's knives.

Hearing the incoming weight, Celeste swings an arm and a knife at the manic's frontal head, a roaring explosion of sound tailing the gleaming edge. As she does so, Jane takes aim with both hands, and shoots the flashbang grenade as it arcs downwards half a meter away from the manic's face.

In the moments right as the grenade goes off, Celeste creates a sphere of silence, blocking out all other forms of sound before sinking out of the current world of blood and steel into the dreaming plains and launching herself through the abyss over to Jane's position. Right afterwards, the blind operative tears herself back out into reality, whereupon Jane grabs her by the shoulder and the two tumble down off the roof and into the alleyway below. Even through the rough landing and the two struggling for air through subdued breaths, Jane vigorously keeps her knife wrapped around herself and Celeste in a tight hug, hoping to both of them within it's cloaking abilitites.

They fall hard, landing on the wet concrete below, rain pelting them from above. From the roof, the sounds laughter begin to emanate from multiple sources. But instead of leaping down onto them, the manics remain up top, their chorus of hysterical giggling growing ever louder.

Then, multiple metal cylinders were tossed down into the alleyway, each exploding violently upon impact. They were simply going to let the explosives finish the two off.

Cyrus caught the bullet midair before standing up and bowing. "P'kat'k you yit," he spoke respectfully before leaving the room.

He couldn't help but think to himself as he carried his helmet under his arm how often these people had actually come into contact with veteran Tenno warriors. Tenno were fearsome. They could take out entire ships full of elite Grineer soldiers in a matter of minutes. They alone could stand up against the terror of the Sentients long ago. But...

That was with their Warframes. Without them, they were more vulnerable, weaker. Not invincible, although their power remained immense. As long as they could isolate a Tenno from their Warframe and then suppress their ability to bend the power of the Void to their will, picking them off would be easy. And likely, the Tenno already within the city's walls were without their armour.

So, trying to find out from Ebony the details of a Tenno hideout was definitely the logical course of action. Cyrus scratched his chin as he stepped back into the open air upon the top of the fortress' walls, making his way back to the elevator where he'd come from. He did have one advantage; Cyrus knew Tenno. He'd worked with plenty before. If he could get one of his contacts on the line to pose as a Tenno attempting to establish contact with Ebony, it may allow him into her inner circle. Of course, he'd need to contact one of his neutrally-aligned contacts. Not one of the Lotus' warriors. An outcast, a criminal. Someone in it for the money.

Kapak. That sly, infested, always hungry fool. Halcyon had said yesterday that he'd tried to contact him. Perhaps he'd be able to get in touch with him and explain his case, and get him to pose just enough to convince Ebony.

It was certainly worth a shot.

Once Cyrus had left the building, Carvus' body collapsed against the table, unmoving. A grey nyx stepped out from behind his limp form, shaking her head.

"This is almost too easy," she murmured to herself, sending a mental command to the motionless body beside her, causing it to shudder to life.

"I need to stop placing so much strain on the minds of people I control," the Nyx reflected to herself, "Having to guide them all manually is a pain."

Giving Carvus a pat on the head, she silently exfiltrated the tower, a shade sentinel keeping her hidden from the guards patrolling the fortress.

The Overseer would guide Cyrus to the tenno, and he in turn would keep them occupied. The Hierarchy would be pleased.
