They are a special type of neutron stars which generate roughly a 1000 times the magnetic field of a neutron star. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetar . i will probably use this as a reference for an emblem, the theme being star quake triggering a "magnetar flare" similar to solar flare, just that one on the other side of the milky way was able to disrupt communications of satellites and blind them on earth. :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SGR_1806-20 source Blazar- already suggested by someone else, but very closely related to quasars. These would be my suggestions, i will try to come up with an image suitable for the Magnetars soon. Quasars are very bright, the brightest objects in the known universe to be precise. Was thinking in terms of this clan beeing a map of searching towards Quasars. ('Zodiac' is another option, it's a collection of constellations) Good luck too other contestants and hopefully we will be able to find a fitting name!
