Fate_6
Plastids rarely drop, Nano Spores suck, and Ancients are nearly impossible to kill with slow-fire weapons (Dread, Lanka) because their hitboxes on arms/legs are practically nonexistent. Zareek
I agree with the 2 first statements, the last however... I have no problem hitting ancients in the face with my paris and lanka. Maybe you should practice a little more with them.

Zareek
But you have to hit the Ancients at the right leg... :o I made a topic a while back regarding the new ancients weakspot, and I got a lot of people saying "The head". And so far, that has been working just fine for me. But I could be wrong.

No one has an issue hitting their face ... that's why the OP mentioned the legs/arms. And he's right, the hitboxes are very small on them. I'm not sure if the new ancients have the same vulnerabilities as the old ones, but if that's the case, they need to fix those hitboxes ASAP ! i just hit them in the face as hitting the legs is nearly impossible with those tiny hitboxes. And about plastids, i don't get it, i get tons of them. I do agree about the nanospores ! lol

CeePee
I'm hitting Ancients with a 10k headshot with my Lanka, not sure what you mean with not being able to kill Ancients? With a Lanka, you really should be going for the headshots.
FunkDoctaSpock
Yeah I know, but I mentioned their face because I thought that was their weakspot, and maybe the op misunderstood. But Im not even sure anymore haha Well as it is, it's the best part to shoot at, 'cos trying to hit the legs (old weak spot) like we used to, is like trying to hit a wire or something. Duralumin
Plastids need to be buffed to Alloy Plate levels. Currently to build all clan-tech weapons you need about 9k plastids, yet they only drop in bundles of 20. Conversely, you only need about 2k alloy plates, yet you get those in bundles of +100. I shudder to think how many you need to build non-clan tech weapons. Edited August 4, 2013 by Duralumin
FunkDoctaSpock
Achilles heel Make this test for yourself. Grab Vauban, use Bastille, aim at the legs of the ancients without shooting, watch the health bar of the ancient. Most of the time even with your crosshair ON the leg, the health box doesn't appear. Meaning, the leg's hitbox isn't adapted to its actual size. Thus, please fix DE ; )
Rarnd
Their true weak spot is their right "knee" as far as I can tell. I tend to paint their legs with my Ignis, and the damage goes from single digits (literally 1s and 2s) to double digits (anywhere between 20 and 40) whenever it passed over the "knee" area. This is by far the highest damage point for weapons that don't ignore armour. The head does deal more damage (usually something around 5s to 15s) and deals the most damage with armour IGNORE weapons, but the knee is still the weakest point when armour is still being taken into account. And yes, it is nigh non-existent. That, or the hitbox isn't directly attached to the mesh, as it does seem to move around. Fleetwing
Plastid drop rates are just generally absurd. Agreed. Nano spores are out of control. As for ancient headshots, I think I'm getting headshots with my Hek..it's hard to tell, really.
TrashSpider
first two I'll agree, wish DE would put more use into nano spores, as for the last... my dera can handle that
Annnoth
Shooting an ancient in the head with a weapon that doesn't pierce armor deals normal damage. Shooting them in the leg with a weapon that ignores armor does normal damage but so is shooting them in the body with that kind of weapon. If you use the dread or lanka, aim for the face to do bonus damage.
