i have not used a weapon that did not have armor ignore in awhile and after i got one and started using it on ancients on xini and some grineer .. it sucked

to my understanding armor pierce does not pierce armor and only makes u do more damage if said enemy is weak against armor pierce

dread did well over the thousands on unarmored things like light infested but the damage was reduced so significantly against armored foes

i know armor scaling is freakin broken but i still see people suggesting the grakata  or saying deras awesome and i see alot use gorgon.. i never tried those but based on my experiences should they be crap?

kinda...very.. limiting cuz the list for serrated blade/physical impact primary weapons is small

an armor ignore mod would be lovely >___>

You would be mistaken then

Armor piercing doesn't have armor applied to it's damage calculation

It's the same for other damage types, like the charged attack in melee weapons or flux rifle (both serrated blade damage i believe). Search for more info about that if curious.... or better yet, test it and convince yourself =D

Dread has 3x damage on light infested. It is buffed on light infested, not debuffed on everything else.

And I think Armour Pierce is better than armour ignore. It deals bonus damage, and on many enemies has a damage multiplier. Not to mention basically every enemy has a weakspot that has no armour or a damage multiplier than makes their armour rating useless.

grineer tend to be fully armored, no weak spots

(ancients dont have armor on there lower limbs right? foggy memory, want quick confirmation)

and arent corpus pretty much armored all over except they take alot of armor peirce damage to the head

and i suppose that makes up for damage lost from the buttload of armor they have?

i dont normally host(craptastic internet) so i dont see all the numbers  fly out :l

I don't get the logic behind No Return, Sundering Strike, and Piercing Hit.

The very act of piercing armor doesn't do damage, the projectile itself does more damage as a result of the armor being pierced. It makes no sense.

my despair is the only non armor ignore weapon i use...

it has a innate 100% armor pierce damage

i dont know how it works but it just does...

but then i heard it works differently for the despair...

so at the least i can say this armor pierce does do damage

but all the elements means more damage flying out D:

The thing is, enemies gain more and more resistance against fire/ice/electric damage the higher level they become. At some point those elements are basicly useless if you don't hit certain weakspots.

AP will do consistent damage. Many enemies resist fire/cryo/electric so using them against a specific faction is just a waste.

Cryo is the best of the three since it slows all enemies and does double damage against shields.

Personally I like AP/Cryo/Fire since the boxheads are pretty easy to take out with AP and Cryo, and since fire = electric against Grineer.

And in general if you plan on facing level 100+ enemies you are almost better off going with an AP/Cryo crit build since AP is pretty much going to be the only damage you deal, so you want to max that out.

That's why i told you to read above my other post, since i had told you that armor piercing damage type is not affected by armor

Impractical at best.

And a worthless reduction at higher levels.

If I did my math right, 30% armor reduction applies after the enemies have their set armor, so 25% of their armor is always going to be gone. I'd never call that useless.

I'm also the type of player that really doesn't care about everyone having Energy Siphon.

The damage you gain from corrosive' is less than what you'd get from constant buffs/debuffs.

Constant energy helps your team more if you have a buffer/debuffer.
