Xylia
First off, I'll give my suggestion, before explaining it: Serration: Uncommon -> Common Hornet Strike: Uncommon -> Common Point Blank: Uncommon -> Common Killing Blow: Uncommon -> Common Point Strike: Common -> Uncommon Pistol Gambit: Common -> Uncommon Blunderbuss: Common -> Uncommon Organ Shatter: Common -> Uncommon True Steel: Common -> Uncommon Why? For a couple reasons: 1). Crit Mods are all you find when you do Mercury, Venus, or Earth. Maybe 1 in every 20+ mods will be something other than Ammo or Crit. Ammo is useful to a newbie; Crit is not. So few weapons benefit from Crit mods, that these really ought to be "advanced" mods for experienced players looking to make a Crit Build (weapons that this can be done with are usually later-game weapons). 2). Weapons a newbie has access too, are all low-crit weapons (the best being Strun at 7.5%). A Crit Mod is an absolute waste of Mod Capacity (especially with a weapon that has no potato). 3). Newbies really need a leg up, especially after the Sawmen change, and other changes made recently. You can't even craft a new weapon (other than Orthos) until you're able to do Saturn, Jupiter, or Mars which are all Level 25+. The Damage Mods would really give Newbies a leg up. 4). These changes would not change a high-end player whatsoever; they already have their maxed Serrations, Hornet Strikes, and Killing Blows. This would not make an OP player any more OP. It WOULD, however, allow Lowbies to catch up a bit easier so they can start doing higher level stuff where everybody else is at, and it might mean fewer "leechers" at Xini for example. EDIT: Shoot, meant to put this in WEAPON not WARFRAME Feedback. Clicked the wrong link, sorry about that. Edited August 7, 2013 by Xylia
NanoDecerto
However, making serration and hornet strike common, would mean experienced players get a LOT more, making it easier to power up our weapons even further pretty easily instead of using a lot of credits and fusion cores. I think damage mods that apply to everything belong in uncommon because they are so powerful and universal, while crit mods are more common because they are so situational, that you may as well have it on a high level when you use it. Jugganatha
Newbies get the bad end of so many changes/features. Armor scaling, mod rarity, material costs, gear selection... the fact that you could only choose one from three different frames in the whole lineup really sucked to me. The fact that you had no choice in your class of starting weapon also sucked majorly (for me Snipetron>MK1 and Bo>Skana if could have chosen). I can see your (very simple) suggestion softening that really sharp cliff curve you have to get over in this game to start out, but it's only a step. Keep thinking about the noobs man, I remember their pain well.

Again, MANY high-end players already have theirs maxed or near-maxed. Meanwhile, newbies have unspent capacity because they really don't have anything useful to stick in their weapons... Yes, high-end players have their high-end mods and that is the point. Plus, it is better to give new guys power once they know how to use it. I'm not understanding why you seem to think Newbies shouldn't get Serration, Hornet Strike, etc. Especially when we have Sawmen chopping people up everywhere while having ridiculous amounts of shield (seriously, Sawmen now have more effective health than Troopers in low levels).
