Aspari
The AI you have to cart around with you can't do anything but get in the way of enemy fire or get caught by chargers. I have to find a way to glitch the AI into staying in one place where enemies won't bother it so I won't get a fission mailed. If the hostage was actually smart and tried to stay away from combat I'd probably enjoy the mission a ton more but as it is now I'd rather Rescue be deleted instead of Raid. PsychedelicSnake
They're making rescue less of a chore (I don't know specifics). And Raid is essentially a Capture mission with an artifact instead of a person.

We need to de-rez them like capture missions so they are "protected". Why cant we de-rez a hostage!?
NanoDecerto
Check the hot topics. Rescue is getting a makeover.

If I remember correctly, instead of taking a hostage with you via follow or de-rez, they will be launched out of the station via an escape pod immediately. Afterwards, you'll just have to go to the extraction. There may be more, and I may be incorrect here, but if memory serves this is what DE has in mind. No one likes poorly made escort missions though. To really make rescue good you would need a reason to actually care about the hostage. We get no intel on them, they don't talk to us, and they have terrible pathing. The result is guide the dumb puppy/race to the finish mission that you have no reason to care about. From an improvement standpoint its a no brainer, delete Rescue, make Raid more fun cause its far easier to improve. Both in injecting lore and improving how it plays. LazyKnight
I agree with the topic axe recuse keep raid. Rescue is just a chore being solo or with a group doesn't change that and it is the least fun mission type in game for me.
Numot
If we can digitalize capture target, why cannot we rescue? No clue, humorously enough it results in having missions be the same, rescue becomes a capture, its just a friendly capture.
legionufo
Why can we do something with the prisoner like we do with the captain in capture mission? Something Lotus said "Good! The captain safely in your head! Get to extraction point" Edited August 7, 2013 by legionufo
Bakercompany86
also, the hostage has a gun but doesn't use it -_- Always found it funny that he runs out of captivity with a loaded pistol... Yeah Rescue missions could disappear altogether for all I care. The AI is horrible, and I'm tired of failing them. Super agile run and gun space ninja shock troopers...but here lets prod along at a snails pace because we're rescuing some person who can't navigate a hallway. The rescue missions remind me of something Claptrap says near the beginning of the BL2 tutorial: "CONGRATULATIONS, MINION! Your ability to walk short distances without dying will surely be Handsome Jack's downfall!" *shaking my head sadly* Seriously, the worlds' most annoying robot valet has better pathing than the rescue target, and he's less pathetic, even when you have to deal with the VERY depressing birthday party mission, which is 3 minutes of standing around, watching Clappy be an oblivious little twat. Xenrax
Whoever put these damn escort missions in the game needs to be taken out back and beaten with a rusty spoon! WHAT PART OF 'ESCORT MISSIONS ARE BAD' DID THE DEVELOPERS NEVER UNDERSTAND!? Jeez, have they EVER played any other escort missions in their life!? Please remove escort missions (aka 'rescue'). They won't be missed.
