hatebringer79
I think it would be nice if we could customize where the different HUD box's are placed for EXAMPLE: the team health bars always over lap the chat box on me and while i can move the chat box during that mission it will go back to its original place during any following mission. This would allow ppl who are used to mini maps from other games to transition to this game easier because they can just put it in the spot the are used to looking. Last Edit:10/1/13 If they make the HUD customizable they should also... -add a place so you can see your melee weapons affinity bar and level. -allow team health bars to be visible the same time as the gear items. -allow the displays to be placed anywhere on the screen that the user chooses. -allow the option to view sentinels health/ shields -i have seen games display loot pick ups in the chat box this may be a good place to put loot pickups so we can look over the things we have looted while doing a mission. ( with the new carrier sentinel looting i now have no idea the things i pick up anymore untill the very end.) If they DONT make the HUD customizable they should at least... -move the default spawn location of the chat box so it doesn't get over lapped by the team health bars when you bring them up. -Add blue bars for shields to team health box. (i will add to this list as more ideas come to me or are suggested to me via this forum.) Edited October 2, 2013 by hatebringer79
Meenmu
A million times yes. I would be ecstatic to see something like starsiege: tribes had: hit a button to toggle on hud edit mode, mouse is freed, and you can drag around and enable/disable all of the hud elements so you have exactly what you want exactly where you want it. And the positions and their enabled/disabled state are all saved and persistent between games. Would save a lot of headaches especially with trinity, when I often want to have the z menu up all the time, but I not only have to bring it up manually every mission start, but I also have to re-move the chat window so it isn't obstructed, and I have to disable the z menu if I want to use any items from that menu. The hud, overall, hasn't really changed that much (as far as I can tell) in a while, and it could really use some love. MofineBovine
If they DONT make the HUD customizable they should at least... -move the default spawn location of the chat box so it doesn't get over lapped by the team health bars when you bring them up. This x 1000 Squad hp should show hp AND shields blue bar over red bar, also when you look at a squadmate. Team hp and chat shouldn't be displayed at the exact same spot on the screen. How the hell that has stayed like that for so long is confusing to say the least. there is enough room along the left side of the screen for 3 individual portraits with separate hp and shield bars AND have a chat window all at the same time. When you see simple things like a minimal squad display overlapping chat while so much screen space at the side and top goes unused, it makes you wonder about who is driving this bus. edit. also lotus's messages are in the same spot. 3 things. 3 things in the same tiny square of the screen... jesus. 200 hours of game play and i only just learned you can move the chat window =/ Edited September 26, 2013 by MofineBovine
