Dev Workshop: Weapons, Mastery Ranks, and Stats!

so, although a lot of weapon is buffed, many's MR is greatly changed. including some weapon what player will never acquire like braton vandal, lato prime. so if people can't get these weapon anymore, what's the point of changing the MR? also, some weapon only received minor change like twin viper wraith, the MR is greatly improved. i feel like if this update is really lunched, it will create a real hard time for new players.

no this is an easy to get gun that will help a newb make it to higher levels and keep them playing instead of hitting a hard difficulty wall yes it is a little too good for its rank but MR 8 is a little too high.

I see what you did here DE, but i see a problem, a big one.

Some weapons that are supposed to be used for new players (Like the Paris or the akLato, even the Dex Sybaris or the Dex Furis, that are supposed to be a lotus gift for the anniversary of the game, are getting a MR increase. What's the meaning of that?), are getting a MR increase, and those "new players" are probably the thing that you need to focus on, if you want to get more audience and players, make the warframe experience the most gratificant videogame experience, but giving those weapons (that are for beginner players) a higher MR, don't look fair for new players.

Sorry DE but this don't look good to me, but the buffs an nerfs are good though

The original post states this:
" Free weapons like the Dex series have been given Mastery Rank values to match their stats! We know these are grandfathered in inventory regardless of Mastery Rank, it's just for consistency! "
So you see, they want to have a unified system, clean up stats, bring a gradient with MR, even if it's just for show, because new players will still be rewarded in the future copies of Dex weapons (unless DE decides to have all future anniversaries be events where you have to work for the blueprints of the weapons).

Also plenty of lower MR weapons got buffs, not to compete with old no MR powerful weapons, but hopefully enough to keep new players happy in using the weapons with lower MR requirement, won't be a lex, but will be better than what it was before.

Not really happy with the Daikyu change - it's a greatbow with high base damage and status chancebut slower drawing speed.
The changes look to me just like a straight up damage nerf, while also trying to make it another generic (short)bow like we already have some in the game.

If I want a speedy bow based on crit, I would play Paris or Dread - please don't destroy Daikyu.

First Impressions without doing a huge amount of math.
I don't like how basically every high-MR weapon is turning into a crit weapon. I'd rather see base damage builds made more competitive with critical builds.
Dual Toxycyst buff might be too short now. I understand the logic, but compared to other weapons around it, this weapon struggles without constant buff upkeep. 3 or 4 seconds is probably a more realistic buff duration.
The lack of Rakta Cernos love is something I see as a problem, as the charge changes across the board make this weapon much less impressive by taking away the niche of a relatively rapid firing bow.
Aside from that, the changes seem very geared into making high-disposition Rivens slightly better, rather than really improving and stratifying weapon performance across the board and giving them unique niches.

Finally, is it wise making changes to weapons before Damage 3.0 comes out? This is just going to make rebalancing them all over again much more painful.

How would you make a base damage build viable on the same level as a crit, status, or hybrid build?

Nice :D

Noteworthy buffs:

Very important to note that it's timer is only 2 seconds. Removes it's main use case of buffing Mesa. That's kind of annoying and 2 seconds is hard to keep up with many set ups. (dual toxysts)

Honestly, the Nukor's fine: It's a nice, fun status weapon that can fry targets with hilarious results.

It is, but its true potential lies in its crit damage capability. You could buff it using harrow, arcanes and cats, but I don't wanna do that. I have a 2 forma status build with a riven in it and while its funny and all, it tends to drop off at stage 3 sortie.

Why do this to Pandero, last weekend i just rolled its riven for 50+ times and polarized the pistol for 5 times. My first polarized weapon, only enjoyed two days!

The Dual Toxocyst buff being able to refresh does not justify a buff duration as low as 2 seconds. I think there would be no problems if it stayed at 6 seconds, but at the very least it should have 4 seconds.

Loving the Daikyu buff though. It will finally be efficient on frames other than Harrow.

I wish they just added a sniper rifle feature on the daikyu. the one that zooms in on enemies, to make it a sniper bow. with that you really wont need to change its stats, even the draw speed.

but still thanks for the buff

AkMagnus

Mastery Rank increased 0 to 12

Damage increased from 45 to 84

Reload speed decreased from 3 to 3.4 secs

Fire Rate decreased

Oooohhh

Those bitter-sweet akmagnus changes are twisting me heart ;p

Why is the Magnus getting a buffed reload speed while Akmagnus is getting a nerf to both reload speed and fire-rate?

If the fire-rate nerf is substantial in any way it just sounds like the Magnus will be the better choice overall.

This "buff list' is awesome. I can't wait to test out some of these weapons I already like and are not powerful enough, including Boltor Prime, Grakatas, Boar Prime, and several other weapons!!

Umm hello DE, are you drunk alright?

The regular Grakata, when compared to the prisma Grakata, has:

  1. The same crit chance
  2. higher crit damage
  3. higher damage
  4. the same status chance
  5. basically the same fire rate
  6. a slightly slower reload
  7. half the magazine

I have been playing with the Opticor for a while now. As someone who is only MR 10, I am worried I will lose access to my Opticor and was wondering whether these fears are valid.

EDIT: If you're a player who doesn't meet the new MR requirements for their favourite piece of equipment, don't fret! If you already own the weapon, you will be able to use it regardless of the higher MR requirement. These MR tweaks will only affect Tenno who newly acquire the weapons listed after these changes make it in-game.

Daikyu

"Damage decreased from 500 to 420"

Is this entirely necessary for the daikyu? although I'm totally thankful for the draw time reduction across the board for all bows, still feel like the daikyu should retain its characteristic of being the hard hitting of the bunch. It would feel more acceptable with it being 450-470 damage range.

Do weapons you already have that are getting an MR increase retain the lower MR? I use Tigris and Tysis and it would suck if I lost access to those [MR6.]

You would still retain access to those
