Cernos Prime... make the default shot horizontal spread and charge to be vertical. Give it that total damage on every single arrow instead of splitting it out between the arrows too so it can actually compare to the dread. It *should* be cool but it just isn't, and its outclassed by its non prime variant the Rakta Cernos atm because it takes all that base damage and splits it between all of it's arrows, half of which usually miss unless you use it like a shotgun and push it up against your target, It's supposed to be a true aoe bow, like a non-explosive Lenz, but in reality its a shotgun-esque very super short range bow with low individual target damage that looks pretty but doesnt function in real situations.

I mean it goes for 30 plat atm because its mastery fodder the way it works now.

I've been playing this game a long time, and I've complained about ALOT of weapons. Every single bow for its charge speed and why we should use anything but Rakta Cernos, the Latron Wraith being better than Latron Prime, so many weapons being absolutely trash to the point where they weren't even usable *cough* Tiberon *cough*. A lack of Akvasto Prime (nudge nudge wink wink), no mastery rank scaling for weapons that are really strong, and just lots of other little things with different weapons. But this ONE patch, when it comes through, is literally fixing more than half, quite possibly even more than 75% of my complaints. The only thing I really didn't like about these changes the Akmagnus reload speed but eh, Ill live, Ill take the extra damage. I have a reload speed riven anyway.

Props to the weapon designer, he's done an amazing job.

And on a side note, it's refreshing to see alot of new numbers in the stats, it used to be static multiples of 5% for critical and status chance and it just felt a little stale and unimaginative. Modding eventually became going through the motions. But these little increases and decreases could be the difference between one mod being more worth than another. So hopefully we'll see some more build diversity coming through.

Also, anyone who noticed the buffs to "certain weapons" that didn't NEED buffs. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Did Paris Prime just get a buff making it have better damage than Dread?

Not saying it is better than Dread due to slash still being generally better but that 260 from 200 charge damage is nothing to blindly ignore in the war over what is the best bow.

Also this just made the Riven i have for Zenith combined with 1 dual stat mod get 100% status chance up from 94%. Really hope it's Riven disposition is not changed.

Question: since you changed Explosion to Impact in Kulstar will it no longer explode in my face?

It's good you are changing mastery required for some of the weapons. When I first started playing I didn't know which weapon should I build because there were too many available.

 

On a much sadder note. @[DE]Rebecca why do you mock us? The cult of Tonkor God King. Hasn't Tonkor suffered enough of your cruelty?

Yes, make it a generic launcher... Bouncing grenades is what I loved about this weapon. Why not revert and add back bouncing grenades? While you at it pls make a timer for grenades or a sphere of impact like in Lenz.

This might be the longest list in Dev Workshop history, so we'll give some quick explanations and let you un-spoil CTRL+F your favourite weapons (Melee + Beam currently not included) to see what's coming.


Why?

Well, we are revisiting all weapons and adjusting their stats to fit into some Mastery Rank grouping guidelines based on DPS and Crit/Status split total.

Some general notes:

  • Some weapon crafting costs will be revisited, and PoE resources will be used if it makes sense to better integrate a mix of resources into the game.
  • Not noted here are BEAM weapons - they should be ready soon, but we are revisiting them to be more 'like they used to be' in terms of damage instances over time but with a fixed fire rate. Fire Rate mods and their effects are still being determined.
  • Conclave Weapon damage has not yet been touched - will be done once all changes are set!
  • We calculate DPS based on sustained DPS which also takes Critical and Status values into account so our values may be different than yours!
  • For those of you in the Riven Market, please be aware these stats will not affect Riven dispositions. Player popularity / usage stats will continue to be the metric for that.


So what are these Mastery Rank grouping guidelines?

We sketched out Mastery Rank groupings of 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15 for each weapon type with a minimum DPS and amount split between crit and status for each group. Using existing stats, weapons were sorted into the groups. If their stats were too high for their current MR it was raised along with any other properties to match.
 

Example: Tiberon

Its damage places it in MR 10-12 but its crit and stat split is way too low. MR is increased along with status and critical chance to match its new MR. Increasing status and critical boosts its damage so it's reduced down to fit back into the MR group guidelines its original stats dictated

 

The end result is the high performing/popular weapons stats remain untouched outside of being placed into their intended MR group and the rest of the weapons are brought up to equivalency.

 

Additional Notes

  • Projectile based and low fire rate weapons were given more crit and status allowance when appropriate.
  • Some outliers exist that either don’t meet or exceed their Mastery Rank's allotted DPS and Crit/Status split allowance because of additional properties and/or features.

    Examples:

  • Grakata - exceeds Crit/Status split but is extremely inaccurate
  • Strun Wraith - DPS is lower than its Mastery Rank group but it has forced stagger on hit and high status chance
  • Free weapons like the Dex series have been given Mastery Rank values to match their stats! We know these are grandfathered in inventory regardless of Mastery Rank, it's just for consistency!

EDIT: If you're a player who doesn't meet the new MR requirements for their favourite piece of equipment, don't fret! If you already own the weapon, you will be able to use it regardless of the higher MR requirement. These MR tweaks will only affect Tenno who newly acquire the weapons listed after these changes make it in-game.

Also, removed a duplicate Lex Prime entry. Its new MR is 8, not 14 as incorrectly listed.

No synoid simulor buff? Its really just mr fodder at this point ;-;

I guess this is good.... Although maybe make it 3 or 4 seconds? It's quite hard to hit headshots when the enemies randomly decide to sprint right whilst walking straight towards you...

Can you add an alternate trigger for Ferrox? I mean the one from Javlok, teh option to change it would be in apperance for example.

Also, Akvasto treatment is disgracefull, reload speed was not 3 but 1.8s. And 3.4s is insanely bad idea for a weapon that fast. Its a Pandero, but now with 3.4s reloads now... It also deserves the full crit chance buff to 20% and both Vasto and Akvasto should have 2.0x crit damage base.

Also, not changes to gammacors? Why?

Why is the Lato Prime a higher mastery rank than Lato Vandal when currently they are at about the same power level? Please bring the Lato Vandal up to the same mastery rank as Lato Prime.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining here, but why Pandero. Pandero is my baby. Everything got a buff except for Pandero. Pandero was the only weapon on the list that got it's CC reduced, it's CD reduced, and it's Status Chance reduced. Poor Pandero, this weapon was my baby. It was one of the rare cases of rivens making a weapon actually hold up to higher tier weapons and fun to use. 
Why not just raise the MR, and if necessary, the crafting requirements. This is such a good weapon but these nerfs ruin the gun. Please consider raising mr and not nerfing it

I see many players calling out that it may actually now be very difficult for new players to get new weapons and I kind of agree with that. But just as a thought, couldn't it actually be better the way they are changing it? If MR requirements are now raised for a lot of weapons, this could provide a better guideline for new players on what to focus next.

Like, if a new player went into the market nowadays, they see a lot of weapons available for them and it might overwhelm them. But if there are only 20 weapons available, they might be better guided into higher MR and consequently better weapons. For example, Spira and Spira Prime are pretty good sidearms, which are available very quickly to new players (currently MR1 and MR3). If a new player accustomed themselves to that and then went ahead and tried out the Stradavar later on (which sits at MR8), they might feel kind of betrayed by its weakness compared to lower MR weapons, if you know what I mean. I really like this new meaning of high MR requirement = good weapon, because IMO it gives a better feel and guideline for how strong weapons are.

I would be interested to hear what you think.
