Just used a Forma to buff the Daikyu for more fun and now it's nerfed. Might as well get a Paris Prime now...

i have 6 forma and one riven on my daikyu, this update is really painful y_y

Only nerf on my daikyu build not a single buff ....

I finally tested new hema and it is bugged. Sometimes it reloads just fine, but sometimes it does not refill "spare" ammo. Reloading empty gun to 9 out of 60 ammo is such a weapon-breaking bug. I have no idea why do we even have ammo in our pockets if gun does not use ammo... It is possible that reload gets buged after relic rewards/choice if you want to stay in mission. Not quite sure

30 crit chance on the daikyu may have been too much but you could've atleast made it a nice little 25 y_y, half of what status is would've been so nice to look at, and sooo smooth :0

 

On a sidenote, daikyu being somewhat faster now is "ok" but now it completely stopped being a unique bow, infinitely holdable and all that...

1 shot 1 kill zen bow feel would be truly nice to have, aswell as daikyu feeling "heavy and impactfull" from its charge and limited hold time

@DE.Rebecca following on from these excellent changes, and the beam weapons changes to come, is anyone looking at melee at some point?

Right now a lot of the very old weapons, such as Fang Prime, feel woefully out of step with their newer counterparts, so it would be nice if those could all be looked at as well.

In the mean time, my Flux Rifle is ready and waiting to be good again.

agree. some melee weapons are in even worse shape than the beam weapons as a whole and beam weapons already were/are in a bad spot. its not the case for melee overall ofc but some really need some love. mire is also such an example of a very old weapon that could use something extra besides a simple stats pass.

3x Critical multiplier

And offcourse damage must be calculated for this position.

While our team has been reading and listening to feedback on Friday's post regarding Warframes, our Weapons designer has been just as hard at work on some changes coming to many of Warframe's weapons!

This might be the longest list in Dev Workshop history, so we'll give some quick explanations and let you un-spoil CTRL+F your favourite weapons (Melee + Beam currently not included) to see what's coming.


Why?

Well, we are revisiting all weapons and adjusting their stats to fit into some Mastery Rank grouping guidelines based on DPS and Crit/Status split total.

Some general notes:

  • Some weapon crafting costs will be revisited, and PoE resources will be used if it makes sense to better integrate a mix of resources into the game.
  • Not noted here are BEAM weapons - they should be ready soon, but we are revisiting them to be more 'like they used to be' in terms of damage instances over time but with a fixed fire rate. Fire Rate mods and their effects are still being determined.
  • Conclave Weapon damage has not yet been touched - will be done once all changes are set!
  • We calculate DPS based on sustained DPS which also takes Critical and Status values into account so our values may be different than yours!
  • For those of you in the Riven Market, please be aware these stats will not affect Riven dispositions. Player popularity / usage stats will continue to be the metric for that.


So what are these Mastery Rank grouping guidelines?

We sketched out Mastery Rank groupings of 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15 for each weapon type with a minimum DPS and amount split between crit and status for each group. Using existing stats, weapons were sorted into the groups. If their stats were too high for their current MR it was raised along with any other properties to match.
 

Example: Tiberon

Its damage places it in MR 10-12 but its crit and stat split is way too low. MR is increased along with status and critical chance to match its new MR. Increasing status and critical boosts its damage so it's reduced down to fit back into the MR group guidelines its original stats dictated

 

The end result is the high performing/popular weapons stats remain untouched outside of being placed into their intended MR group and the rest of the weapons are brought up to equivalency.

 

Additional Notes

  • Projectile based and low fire rate weapons were given more crit and status allowance when appropriate.
  • Some outliers exist that either don’t meet or exceed their Mastery Rank's allotted DPS and Crit/Status split allowance because of additional properties and/or features.

    Examples:

  • Grakata - exceeds Crit/Status split but is extremely inaccurate
  • Strun Wraith - DPS is lower than its Mastery Rank group but it has forced stagger on hit and high status chance
  • Free weapons like the Dex series have been given Mastery Rank values to match their stats! We know these are grandfathered in inventory regardless of Mastery Rank, it's just for consistency!

EDIT: If you're a player who doesn't meet the new MR requirements for their favourite piece of equipment, don't fret! If you already own the weapon, you will be able to use it regardless of the higher MR requirement. These MR tweaks will only affect Tenno who newly acquire the weapons listed after these changes make it in-game.

Also, removed a duplicate Lex Prime entry. Its new MR is 8, not 14 as incorrectly listed.

It seems like all the major primaries and secondaries got buffs except for the ones I own.

I will commend you for giving the Vulkar Wraith a damage buff.

however I'm very unimpressed with the bow re-work. The increased speed on weapons like Daikyu just doesn't seem to match up with the damage loss. I still need multiple mods to make the charge time/fire rate decent (including multi-shot which still seems lackluster on bows).  Quite Frankly I feel running with a volt would solve both these issue and the flight speed far better. Even with one free forma for every nerfed weapon, it still doesn't seem to measure up to its former self. I'm noticing at least 200 points of damage missing on full rank with a potato mod and Multi-shot/damage mod. That's just on I.P.S. and not even getting into the Status damage thats been lost. the crit buff is definitely welcome, and it feels like one of the few weapons crits are actually reliable on, but that's still only good on maybe one enemy tops. Especially with all the reworks to the stealth system.

I don't understand why shotguns get buff's for their falloff damage and yet a weapon using sniper ammo doesn't and gets nerfed. While we're on that topic, why did the AK. Bronko get nerfed? It was barely usefull as a shotgun to begin with and seems inconsistent with all the other shotgun reworks. Having extra spread on a secondary is a huge plus when it comes to bled outs and revives, because the actual radius you have to aim is very small and slow while in these states. Especially if you consider the cover fire the person reviving you needs during the process.

The Attica feels so wimpy I want to throw it in the waste-bin and The Harpak's secondary fire mode still doesn't reel in capture targets, synthesis targets fish or airborne enemies. In addition the Harpak really feels more like a puncture based weapon to me similar to the Bolto, Boltor etc. I still feel these weapons would be more useful if they could pin down a target.

I feel like you could do much better reworks on these systems if you tried. Especially adding options to fishing, (which surprisingly seems like one of the most fun components of the game after all the glitches, nerfs and reworks, disconects and host migraines). Giving us the option to bow fish, or use electricity, and at least use blast to gain fish parts, (like we can't legally do in real life) would be greatly appreciated.

Let me clarify. I like the shotguns the way they are, and any nerfing at all is subject to rage quit.

Hi there fellow Tennos..

New to this(posting here), but read some over here and just must say I LOVE the game.. Have a question though, and sorry if this isn't the right section...

Here goes....  As I'm working my way towards MR 25 and trying to get my hands on every weapon in the game to get me there.. I have used the Codex in the game to "know" what weapons I didn't have.. But it seems not all weapons that you can use to gain "affinity" towards MR is added there? Shouldn't ALL weapons "obtainable" in the game show up in there? Or ALL whatsoever, at least until next update or until new weapons is added.. But still shouldn't it reflect like the codex do on "objects" in the game which you can scan or enemies? Should help you as a Tenno extreamly as they check which weapon you have been mastered or not.. 

As for me, MR 24 and checking codex to find which weapons I don't have yet to master.. But my codex told me that I mastered all there is, except for the Zaw, which I know I have been mastered(twice).. Still my MR "points" didn't add up.. there where still some 27.000 point I was missing.. And after some googling, I found MK1 furis was one of the weapons I had yet to master.. Wasn't in the Codex, as one of the weapons I was missing.. But as soon as i bought it, it showed up in the codex..??!! Is this the way the codex should work, or am I just "picky"? 

Would love to hear other Tennos thoughts about this and maybe some help on where I could go to find what weapons I still miss towars my MR 25.. I figuered out that I should be able to have 1.569.669 point towars my totalt MR.. And so far I got 1.542.669(still have to master my MK1 furis though)..

not sure why the furis did not show up. there are however weapons that are not available that also do not show up.

Dit you gild all 4 amps? Amps do not show up either but do give affinity after gilding like the zaws.

Yes, I master all my amps, warframes, AW, AW weapons, companions and their weapons.. So I'm guessing there is some weapons missing.. Looking up weapons right now at Warframe Wiki(Mastery Rank and weapons) Hopefully I'll find some weapons there.. :blush:

agreed, i played it only once after the change but even if it refreshes or stacks to be frank it shouldve done that from the very start with the original 6 seconds. dual toxos damage is by far nowhere close to high, even with its additional toxin damage. even if it stacked now it wouldnt really be worth it with 5 stacks simply because its quite the work to get it going whilst other weapons are better even without any such mechanic. dual toxos damage is not rivaling currently strong secondaries no matter if with its toxin buff or without. relying on headshots so very much should better be worth it and even the 6 seconds from before werent really long. lesion is fine due to the simpler requirement, but this weapon isnt strong enough to justify that requirement of landing headshots. base dmg could very well sit at 150 and the buff could very well last for 6 seconds again and stack 3 times. this weapon will never crit well with its current stats so base dmg is all it has, of which it has way too few imo.

No love for my Hek?

 

Also looking forward to some beam weapon buffs.  With the exception of the Hek, i exclusively use quanta and amprex.  Atomos is the only secondary i ever use.  Beam weapons have been seriously nerfed lately, though.  Or maybe its just element based weapons to begin with.  Used to be able to one shot high level grineer with my quanta.  Now i have to spend several seconds hosing down level 20s. Whats up with that???
