The Temporary Future of Warframe Trials

It seems every big update, DE find a way to smack vets across the face for their dedication so they can pander more to new players.

I get that new players help pay the bills, but remember that vets kept the lights on when the game was in it's fledgling days.

If there was ever a signal to vets that they aren't appreciated in this game, it's this one.

I have played warframe since March 2016 and have been getting burnt out quite a lot recently, but that's a normal stage to go through. However if theres one thing that kept me sticking to the game, it's raids and this situation does not apply to just me either. I know many, many, many other people like me that are in the similar situation, that simply can't throw this game away due to this one game mode. I rather have raids completely broken then removed.

Well, in my opinion this is a bad idea. Principally for 3 reasons: first, making this, probably a lot of players (veterans and speedruners mostly) will not play Warframe anymore, this a hard knock in the face for them (included me); second, this is an interesting way to fragment or, in the worst case, destroy some groups exclusively created to help new player to do lors and jvs (reference to RSB, and these ppl who spend many or her time teaching the cominity); and third, but not less important, extract content to place it somewhere else (new eidolons in this case) it goes against the philosophy of DE to always give players new content.
Suggestion:- Not remove the trial missions (and avoid a great dislike to the community)
                    - With the new fragments released by the new eidolons, buy blueprints of certain arcanes (it would be great if they introduced new ones) and build them in the foundry.

DE is the king and queen of "If we can't fix it, we'll remove it." This seriously makes me sick when I think of all the money I've thrown at them.

Kinda gives me the feeling of "now that we've got your money, we're done with you. So long and thanks for all the fish"

Seriously some people need to dial back their elitism a few notches. Cause it really makes it hard for people like myself who really don't feel strongly one way or the other about the raids to support keeping them.

Elitism? What...

Okay, so, the main thing I don’t understand is why the raids have to be removed from the game. I mean, why not just let people continue to enjoy them while you work on changes? It won’t make any difference to the main game, and it keeps a large community of dedicated players happy.

I mean, to name an example of how ridiculous this sounds: Imagine if back when you changed from fusion cores to endo, you said “We’re not happy with how Fusion Cores work at the moment, and want to work on a better system, so we’re going to remove them from the game for a couple of years to work on them”. It sounds preposterous. Surely, you can just leave things as they are for people to enjoy until your new vision comes into play. You did it with endo, you did it with the change from void keys to relics, what’s the problem with letting people continue to enjoy the content that they have spent months working on and building a community around?

With the most recent post by @[DE]Megan, Trials will be removed on February 28th, 2018. I am not going to beat around the bush here. Calling this a temporary future is a complete lie. Focus Transference and Dark Sector Armistice have also been "temporary" over the course of multiple years! The outrage over trials being removed has already taken shape, but aside from a few comments, I want to gather all Trial runners together here to voice opinions. I do not care whether you can do sub-12 minute speed-runs, casual 20 minute runs, or even 1 hour. If you enjoy trials, you have something in common with me and many others. Removing this content will be the greatest mistake since Specters of the Rail.

The Raid School Bus, also known as WFRSB has been the top driving force in helping people complete raids, as well as create an environment around them. They have shown through dedication from the beginning that Trials are not perfect, but they are definitely a chunk of this game that many players play. It is heart-wrenching to see this change being discussed. When [DE]Scott discussed pausing development on Trials, it made sense. Removing them is outright dumb and it creates a major hole for veterans just like Specters of the Rail did when it killed the Void.

Another sad death will be the Warframe speed-run community, which although small, is still a growing part of the community. They have even organized a charity stream "Tenno Without Borders" managing to raise an outstanding $1,551 dollars for the charity "Doctors Without Borders". If this change was to be implemented, this will kill the speed-run scene. This could also put on hold TWB event this year since many speed-runners are active raiders.

End-Game content in this game is very few and far between. You usually need to make the most of it by yourself or with some friends/clan mates. You have everything from spending money or platinum for cosmetic hoarding for Fashion, to pushing your limits in endless game modes. With Specters of the Rail, DE made it quite difficult for veterans to do endless missions while still feel rewarded for their effort and "blood sweat and tears". Trials provide this as well for people who wish to do meaningful content with communication and team cooperation.

I have to say, being a Veteran for 3 years now has been one of the greatest times I have had in games. I have a big concern though. The remaining end-game content is slowly dying, and the challenge of this game is completely disappearing. End-Game has become running Star-Chart missions with extremely overpowered gear and steamrolling mobs. The core of the game is repetitive with little variety. Newer players are handed the tools to reach "veteran" levels faster and faster. Replacing trials with Eidolons is almost identical to when DE killed the Void for Fissures. It frustrates many players, including myself to see anything with challenge go down the tube so "everyone wins". Plague Star killed the leader-boards for events, Fissures killed endless missions, and now a large, over-hyped, repetitive, tile-set on Earth is replacing one of the last examples of end-game for players. This has to stop. People need to have variety, and killing it so people play Plains of Eidolon will only push players away.

I want to bring everyone together to help give proper feedback and stop these changes from ruining a part of this game (no matter how big or small it may be to some people).

I Fully support this message in it's Entirety. And so do Alot of members of ours Moon clans.

I agree ,with every word. As a veteran i feel left behind , no raids , no leaderboards events.I know DE has put so much effort in POE , but this is about to become the worst update in my  list so far. Making the game purely casual friendly will push away actually good players.

Disagree with you. Raids are completely unfun and provided nothing to this game, if they removed this and conclave and focused more on the horde shooting aspect of the game. Then I am satisfied.

I rather have good content for veterans that is consistent with the game horde shooting which it excels in than  trials. they have been as waste of resources and few people play them

RSB is also nothing special, they have no leverage in raids.

I already uninstalled the game from my pc, there is literally nothing to do in WF for me when I have over 7k hours in steam and 3k hours in-game

Only thing I ever enjoyed was raids with friends and trying to beat our fastest times or getting mad at my friend because she did so many raids and has so many energizes

Eidolons and Plains were only fun for about a month before I got so sick of doing bounties for the stupid mods and only NOW are the drop chances not stupid low, which after all i farmed for them before I have no motivation to waste more time on eidolon. I got my focus trees maxed, I got the new arcanes and I was done, I went back to raids because even WITHOUT A REWARD AT ALL me and my friends found it more fun than wasting time in plains/waiting for eidolons and even killing them. Goodbye Warframe and Goodbye raid friends, was a ton of fun running through the 845 trials I got to do with everyone.

Exactly. Its not like we are already used to the countless bugs that takes months to get fixed (when they get fixed).

Feedback, again after 2 years of feedback from multiple people (including OP and myself?

Okay, one last time.

1, Bugs - they happen - but many of those found on LoR and JV launch were so basic that it made people wonder if any QA cycle has passed.
2. Loot - We get it, free 2 play game - but how do you excuse Arcane Ice and junk like that?
3. Life drain - one of the most basic and boring mechanics. Especially when global bless was a thing.
4. Arch wing - self explanatory.
5. No new trials for over 2 years - This is why people stopped doing them on mass - you can't expect to reheat content without any new rewards for over 2 years and people to enjoy it.
6. P2P fails.
7.Failing the basic structures of any self aware raid.
8. JV had no actual BOSS FIGHT.
9. LoR had one "BOSS FIGHT", which was more hard on nightmare Vay Hek hydroid farm.
10. Attitude from DE before today.
11. JV launch crap with the injector farm.

Yes, this is a short list of issues that does not delve into madness, but guess what - even with all of that bull crap, we still did the raids, loved them and wanted more. DE never did deliver.

The thought totally just occurred to me... you're shutting down Raids but not Conclave? LUL

This. And archwing.

And shutting them down BEFORE the new content.

Doing the raids daily was one of the few reasons a number of my friends still play warframe and we get together at the same time everyday.

RIP.

I came back to Warframe almost 2 years ago after having no one to play with way back when the Paris was released. RSB and the raid community welcomed me with open arms and I was brought into a wonderful community where I have met all of my great WF friends that I play with even today. Removing raids (even temporarily) will be destroying all the work put into RSB and the speedrunning community. Without raids I feel as if I might just quit this game and never come back. PLEASE reconsider your decision!

I went back in my forum posts history a bit...

Without raids as they are currently, i don't see myself playing warframe on a daily basis anymore. It would kill the most active communities and clans that revolve mostly around bringing people together to do raids.

Also RIP speedruns and Tenno Without Border 2018.

i'm sorta sad about the trials going away. As a player that has yet to complete a normal lor due to no one wanting to help others do them. I am in a huge clan yet when I ask I get no reply or no one knows how to do them but would love to learn. I really just wanted to get the cool stuff like the emblems for your shoulders and stuff like that.

If you don't support raids because other people feel very strongly about raids then I doubt you would ever had supported raids in the first place.

Ok improving raids is great and all, but why would they need to be removed? All this does is take away a thing to do from a group of players for a while, and as an example, solar rail conflicts have been in armistice for what, 3 years? How about you don't remove raids so that the people that do play them still have something to do whilst waiting for these changes?

If it doesn't take literal years to "fix" and improve the raids like Dark Sector did, then I'm fine. But really, if it takes longer than 3 months it will be too much already!

Yup! I'm fine if they remove them with the intention to shift all work towards raids to get them back as quick as possible. But we both know DE doesn't work that way....
