Hipolipolopigus
Are you running Windows 8? I believe this is one of the new security "features" that it has.

Letter13
Weird. I run it on Windows 8 with no problem... Though I made sure to add Warframe.exe/Warframe.x64.exe to Windows Defender/Firewall exceptions. Sounds like Windows Defender is getting a little huffy because it doesn't recognize the .exe files, or it might be getting touchy because it sees the anti-cheat engine checking your background applications. Ya pretty much your only option. It is not. Make sure that Windows Defender isn't forcibly blocking the program. It runs fine on Windows 8, and Windows 8 is a perfectly good operating system. It's not a problem. OP just has his windows defender settings on "Edgy." Windows 8 is an excellent operating system, I haven't had a single problem with it since I upgraded my desktop with it. It's fast as hell, and while it doesn't have a start menu, I'm a Keyboard Samurai. I need no start menu. check online for new drivers or something, I'm sure someone has fixed it or found out how to get around it. It's not a driver issue. Though the OP should get the updated 320.xx drivers. Edited August 8, 2013 by Letter13

It's not a "problem", per say. It's fixing something which isn't really an issue yet; GPU-accelerated viruses.

Well my friend got a new Laptop that has Window 8 preinstalled on it. He hated it. In the end he installed window 7. Yeah, I had to certify for Win 8 and Intel sales on the manufacturer sites. The Win 8 certification was 100x worse than my 3 part root canal. I can say with absolute certainty, there is no way in hell I'll use that piece of crap OS. I'm more than happy to wait for their next OS, which hopefully follows the tradition of Microsoft developing crap OS one year, then the next OS is good, then next one bad, rinse and repeat. Oh well. A highly streamlined operating system with an incredible startup time isn't for everyone. Guess your friend isn't pro-change. amrite? :) BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Streamlined aint far from the truth when talking about Win 8! Lock down the OS to make it more like iOS and sure, it's gonna be more streamlined. I sir am pro change, but not pro crap OS. BETTER... the search function to find the programs you want is far more smoother and less clunkier then the Windows 7 search function... I can find any program I want at such a faster speed, I can breeze through control panel like a God... The Windows 8 works like a dream.. and every day I get better at using it. You obviously don't manage company networks or client systems on a large domain then, because if you did you would despise the UI change. My boss purchased two Win 8 tablets for us to test for viability of integrating into the company. I can tell you right now it isn't going to happen for a good 7-10 years, if ever. It isn't a security concern. It isn't a speed concern. It is a UI concern. And if Win 8 is so awesome, then why does it use the Metro theme that most other major manufactures (Toshiba being on of them) abandoned well before the release of Win 8? Letter13
Then maybe Windows 8 isn't made for company use, just personal use. A thousand times this. Many hospitals still use Windows 95/98, and a lot of large scale companies still use Windows NT/2000. Why? Because for gigantic companies, it's easier to stick with what they know. From my own experience, Windows 8 requires a lot of re-learning by the user, but getting used to it does pay off. The OS is very fast, and as far as being "more locked down" than previous versions, it seems just as locked down as Windows 7 and Vista was. CatPhoenix
No problem with win 8 here, 32 or 64 bit... I don't recall it needing admin rights... this is a very odd message. Perhaps try the 32 bit version?

The OS is very fast, and as far as being "more locked down" than previous versions, it seems just as locked down as Windows 7 and Vista was. Okay, first off. I've been working contract jobs at not only Provena Health (Hospital Network) installing their new computers and citrix based computers that are going in all the patient rooms as part of the requirement of Meaningful Use and assembling their MUCOWs (if you don't know the term, then you don't have room to talk about what hospitals use in the US). Additionally, I did contract work for Citgo at their refinery in IL, Exelon at their nuclear power plant in IL, ATMI Precast in their IT office in IL, Power Packaging at their Corporate office in IL and now currently at Federal Signal and Notification as a corporate contractor in IL. Now tell me again which gigantic companies still use 95/98, because the only times I know those are used is when they don't have 100's of thousands of dollars to upgrade machinery control boards to install a new Windows 7 computer (Win 7 is the standard at all the companies I mentioned btw). All the depends on the PC setup. Some PC can't even run the Windows 8.1 beta fine.
