Well, It Finally Happened...

I accidentally fused my 11-point Hellfire mod while upgrading my Serration :) Submitted a ticket, but I don't know how successful that will be in getting the mod back :P In any case, they should implement some sort of "retrieval" system to get back unintentionally fused mods. I didn't even know I had fused it until I couldn't find it :P

You have my sympathies. I've accidentally sold a focus before. Thankfully, it was unranked because I didn't even realize I had it until I sold it. Go figure. Still, I saw a suggestion a while ago that we could benefit from the ability to 'lock' mods in our inventory. Unable to use them as fusion material, unable to sell, etc. Unless we unlocked them first. It would solve virtually al of the accidental mod loss issues in one fell swoop.

maxing hellfire is easy, i lost once a splitchamber due to a tired eye xD

Not sure if it's worth for them to work on this issue, better fix more important issues :P There is always a limit until people can get protected, and let's face it, YOU hardly make these kind of mistakes

Lucky for you it wasn't the other way around (fuse your lvl9-serration into a hellfire mod)... Now that would be reason for reporting, hehe.

maybe a tip. Just load weapons/frames with mods you don't wanna lose.

I believe you may be peeved about how some people in our society expect others to fix their problems , but your brief social commentary on this issue is misguided and out of place.

The UI for the modding system is convoluted, but it has been much improved from past iterations *cheers to DE for that*. It still needs more work with reasonable safeguards to reduce the likelihood of user error (aka human error). A user can reduce his chances of making an error is he moves more slowly & carefully, but he still runs the chance of making an error.

I made an error and I submitted a ticket outlining my situation. I then posted here in part to vent but also to make note that errors of this sort do take place & there should be a system to correct those errors if they occur. Other games have similar systems. The most common I have seen are buybacks for the marketplace when items are accidentally sold.

I keep telling DE to add a "lock" system or a "favorite" system so that we can just Fuze All mods instantly, while protecting the ones we actually want.

True. There is a limit to how much protection can be afforded users. I suppose it will depend on how many tickets of this sort they receive. They may not receive enough to warrant changes for the UI they have now.

simple option to tick favorits wich will only show in seperated menu, and wont be among all other mods, would work wonders, that way you can mindlessly fuse everything outside favorits and never worry you may accsident fuse something you dont want to loose.

words yo

my point is still valid and true.

if you goof, you goof, you should be wiser by doing so.

that said, my statement is not directed solely at you.

while i do agree that a locking mechanic would be helpful, we all know that there will still be a never ending supply of people goofing and asking for a handout from someone else.

You're a @(*()$ idiot.

This was a genuine accident.

Getting real tired of jackasses on these forums.

you call me names, yet im the jackass? sounds legit.

valid point is still valid. had there been a glitch that forced him to fuse a mod then by all means ask for a fix. that, however is not what happened.

No its not.

"I willingly fused my Maxed hellfire mod to my Serration mod, It wasn't worth, can I have it back?" is asking for a handout.

"I accidentally fused one of my maxed mods because the current mod sorting system is a cluster F***, could I have it back?" is fine.

words with more foul language... for shame.

it is obvious what side of the fence you are on.

to each his own i suppose.

if you desire to be one of the "gimme gimme" sort, then so be it.

sort of on topic and on par with what stormo said:

i hate to go into a kind of legal wording realm with things, but the moment they ask "are you sure you want to fuse", is the moment it ceases to be an accident, its also the moment you take responsibility for what you have done. granted the current system is a jumbled mess at times, its still no reason to just hit the "i have read the rules" button before actually doing so. (i really hope people get that joke... even though its not funny)

I've fused stuff accidentally before.

I just accepted that it was my own damn fault and moved on.

Sure if you had fused a rare mod/rank 8 serration into something you'd have my sympathy, but Hellfire isn't exactly hard to come by, and 5 ranks on it is chump change.
