Vortune
Since the Mod-system is similar with a Cardgame in looks, it would be great to have Vandal, Prime or Sparkly Mods. A version of a Mod with boosted Stats. For an example the warframe skills. The Vandal version would take away some duration but adds a lot of more skill damage. The Prime version would take away some Damage and adds a much longer Duration The sparkly version would be an all-rounder. adding a fair amount of Damage and Duration. Adding visual effects to the skill would be amazing aswell. For example: vaubans Tesla Vandal: The Grenade gets a Lotus sign and Tesla rings and emmits small ,blue n´dark lightnings. Prime: The Grenade is overgrown with golden "vines" and emmits a holographic effect. (like the one, when you enter a Void mission) sparkly: The Grenade got a mirror effect on its surface and emmits a colourful spotlight aiming in the air. Aquiring these mods have to be very difficult. Like T3 Defenses, Void missions or Nightmare mode. Like this, the warframe skills would be more individual. I dont know if there already is a similar topic here. let me know if there is.
Sophista
How nice, fresh idea. I like that general direction of making upgrades upgradeable. Edited August 8, 2013 by PiotrGracz
Stormandreas
So basicly the Vandal version would give you the most overpowered version, giving you less cast time and a huge amount more damage, where a prime one would say 'You know what, I'm going to screw you over', and increase your cast time with less damage, What?Adding VFX for each ability for each one of the mods would be extreamly hard, so probably better to stick with the actual stats
DanPaul7
A bit weird but not too bad

If duration is not available on the skill, the range would suffer. vandal vortex would take away some duration and adds damage. vandal rhino charge would add damage and reduce the range. banshees soundquake would add some damage and reduces the duration of the skill(less damage ticks). HeatHunter
I like that idea, as long as these mods are not some exclusive weekend event content... The Vandal versions are supposed to be exclusive atm, so mods should be available to all players and should also be obtainable by playing the game (could be hard to achieve, but must be obtainable) I'm fine with cosmetic upgrades as exclusive content, but gamechanging items must always be free obtainable. GeneralArmchair
Exclusive items should be restricted to aesthetic changes only. It is poor design for a new player who joins the game years from now to be doomed to always having a strictly worse build because he wasn't around for the __________ event to get the exclusive ___________. Enguzrad
I don't like it, it's just more powerful mods to get and fusion up. And they are not even new, they are just better versions of existing mods.
HeatHunter
I think the OP is suggesting a system like the alternet helmets. Give somethign and take something... So you have different versions of a mod doing something better than the original one, but have a negative influence on another side e.g. +power duration, -power strength +power strength, -energy efficience ... of course this has to be balanced, but the Idea is nice and atm. it's an idea and the details have to be worked out ;)

PettiTheYeti
So, if it works like a helmet, why not wear a helmet?
Enguzrad
Ok, so it would be like skins for mods. Well, if it stays at minor stat changes it may not be bad. A little more customization but not strong enough to change into must have things.
