Forum Clans now Available!

Recommended Posts

Tenno,

You can now use the “Clans” feature on the Warframe forums to find, recruit, and communicate with Clans! This feature will replace the existing Clan Recruitment subforums and give Clans a place to exist permanently on the forums, without the need for bumping or frequent reposting.  In addition, the Clans feature allows you to fully communicate and coordinate with your clanmates on the forums. This feature is not currently linked with in-game clans, so you’ll need to encourage your clanmates to join via the Clans link on the forums, and you can send invites to their forum accounts.

Clan features:

  • Create Clan subforums and threads.
  • Create Clan calendars and events.
  • Assign Leaders and Moderators for Clan content.
  • Upload Clan Emblem to the forums.

Clan creation etiquette (failure to follow could result in forum Clan deletion):

  • Do not create duplicate Clans
  • Do not create Clans that don’t belong to you.
  • Name exactly as it appears in game (or will appear in game).
  • Clan Emblem exactly as it appears in game (or will appear in game).

To start using this feature, click the Clans subforum or the Clans link in the menu bar.

(note: previous Recruitment subforums will be reorganized for Squads, Alliances, and Trading.)

If you have any additional questions, please post them in this thread!

FAQ:
Will forum Clans automatically link to in-game Clans?
Forum Clans are completely separate at this time, so you’ll need to manually join and create both an in-game and forum clan.

What if someone pretends to be a Clan Warlord?
If you see someone pretending to be a Warlord, report them using the Community Inbox, and we can verify their in-game Clan role.

Are Clans moderated like the rest of the forums?
Yes, Clans are moderate like any other part of the forums and must adhere to the Community Guidelines. However, Clan leaders can assign their own moderators as well that are exclusive to their Clan.

Can I create a Clan on the forums before making one in-game?
Yes, feel free to use this feature to get a head start on building your in-game clan or to gauge interest.

What if my Clan changes size?
You can update your Clan under Manage Clan > Edit Clan Settings.

What if the Clan Warlord disappears?
If someone else becomes the new Clan Warlord, they can also be promoted to the Clan leader on the forums.

Can I delete my Clan on the forums?
Yes, if you wish to delete a Clan you own, please request via the Community Inbox to have it removed.

What will happen to my old Recruiting thread?
Old threads will be locked as we transition to the new Clans feature.

Oh cool I guess. Is this leading into a dojo update? With the kingpin system hopefully.

"Edit Clan Settings" lack the "Privacy" option.

We'll have to update manually at this time. I'll work on fixing that option.

I am the leader of a language-specific clan, may I add [language] at the end of the clans name?

Does starting a clan page require founder status in a clan or just Warlord?

It requires neither

That's because it's a feature of the forum software, which calls it clubs, I guess

Yup, exactly. I'll add the URL to my list of things that should be updated.

I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of designing a brand-new forum system just for one game. It is probably an extension for whatever DE uses to power the forums.

I have a question though. Before we used the recruitment forums so people who weren't in a clan presented themselves and we could invite them.

How is this going to work now? Moon Clans have up to 1k members, it's pure madness ^_^"

Will have to try the new system more later. But what we really need is a clan revamp in-game, not on the forums. Not everyone is in here so it is problematic.

You can just set a Public Clan and create your own "Applications" (or whatever you want) topic. Treat it the same way you would have with only a thread, except now you have a lot more options.
