Forum Clans now Available!

Recommended Posts

Hey, @[DE] Drew. This is only for clans or can we create an Alliance page too?

EDIT: what about regional recruit subforums?

I've several problems with this.

There is no option to change the Clan state (Closed, Open etc etc.)

You have no way of deleting Topics.

The Calendar systems is god awfully broken.

There is no proper Text Editor for 'About this clan'.

There is no clear way of sorting these 'Clan Forums', this'll end up in a mess, just like the previous implementation of condensed Subforums. (Some proper thread categories might be in order, at least by size)

Could there be more effort on testing these new features before implementing them, this is frankly just ridiculous.

Tenno,

1) What about gifs? They are allowed?
2) May be "clan" created for alliance or other things?
3) It is necessarily to add prefix and suffix or recommended?
4) What if i create forum clan, but i'm not "senior" warlord(but also warlord) and original clan creator do not wanna be leader at forum?

Also, how do we identify if our clan is actually open for recruiting or not?

I'd imagine the Clan state option (Closed, Open etc.) would be in play here, if it worked...

Very cool new feature! Will we eventually be able to create Alliance pages from our Clan pages? Because that would be really cool.

Many of us have alliances. We want to have a page for those alliances, even if it's just to show off our alliances. That's the point.

I've just returned to Warframe recently after taking over a year off.

Our clan is growing exponentially since open recruitment began, and we may be changing alliances next month. I've already been approached by 3 or 4 alliances (including coalitions of alliances) this week or two in-game.

It would be nice to shop around and see what our options are first, so we can find the best fit for our clan's playstyle.

1) Within the Clan? Yup, same as normal posting.
2) Alliances can still use the Recruitment Subforum at this time.
3) It will become necessary for sorting/filter in the future.
4) You can create it for your Clan as long as you have permission.

We can work on fixing bugs.  Feel free to ignore this feature if you're not interested at this time. The other recruitment forums can stay open while this feature improves.

Concerning deletion, we almost never delete threads/posts on the forums. Please use the appropriate moderation tools or submit a request via the Community Inbox.

Ok so far, I like it. But I see several problems;

  1. There is no way to change the clan state. (Closed, Private, Open)
  2. No clan tier category.
  3. The way it sorts out clans seem to be quite unfair. It will put clans first depending on what is in the title. This will encourage people to add unnecessary dashes and characters to be on top for more visibility. Clans that start with "W" or "Z" will be at the bottom...
  4. Can't format what is in "About this clan".

Other than that I think its great.

Glad to see new clan features! I hope there will be more integration for this in the future, and maybe the ability to make an Alliance page?

It's also a little frustrating that you completely removed the option to join Public clans (If not for privileges, then for the sake of allegiance and seeing who's actually in and who's visiting).

Any chance to re-enable that, or change the settings to an Open clan instead?

Or do I have to delete the page and restart for that?

'Public' is a bit misleading, so I've hidden the option for now so Clans can choose:

  • Open - all content visible
  • Closed - only members can view content

I can still change a Clan to "Public" if requested.

Tenno,

You can now use the “Clans” feature on the Warframe forums to find, recruit, and communicate with Clans! This feature will replace the existing Clan Recruitment subforums and give Clans a place to exist permanently on the forums, without the need for bumping or frequent reposting.  In addition, the Clans feature allows you to fully communicate and coordinate with your clanmates on the forums. This feature is not currently linked with in-game clans, so you’ll need to encourage your clanmates to join via the Clans link on the forums, and you can send invites to their forum accounts.

Clan features:

  • Create Clan subforums and threads.
  • Create Clan calendars and events.
  • Assign Leaders and Moderators for Clan content.
  • Upload Clan Emblem to the forums.

Clan creation etiquette (failure to follow could result in forum Clan deletion):

  • Do not create duplicate Clans
  • Do not create Clans that don’t belong to you.
  • Name exactly as it appears in game (or will appear in game).
  • Clan Emblem exactly as it appears in game (or will appear in game).
  • Include platform as a prefix.
  • Include Clan size as a suffix.
    • Example: PC: Crewmanity (Moon).

To start using this feature, click the Clans subforum or the Clans link in the menu bar.

(note: previous Recruitment subforums will be reorganized for Squads, Alliances, and Trading.)

If you have any additional question, please post them in this thread!

FAQ:
Will forum Clans automatically link to in-game Clans?
Forum Clans are completely separate at this time, so you’ll need to manually join and create both an in-game and forum clan.

What if someone pretends to be a Clan Warlord?
If you see someone pretending to be a Warlord, report them using the Community Inbox, and we can verify their in-game Clan role.

Are Clans moderated like the rest of the forums?
Yes, Clans are moderate like any other part of the forums and must adhere to the Community Guidelines. However, Clan leaders can assign their own moderators as well that are exclusive to their Clan.

Can I create a Clan on the forums before making one in-game?
Yes, feel free to use this feature to get a headstart on building your in-game clan or to gauge interest.

Why can’t people see my Clan?
Make sure you haven’t set your Clan to “Private”. You can request a change via the Community Inbox. (I'll work on giving Clan owners the power to change this setting).
 Private setting removed for now.

What if my Clan changes size?
You can update your Clan name under Manage Clan > Edit Clan Settings.

What if the Clan Warlord disappears?
If someone else becomes the new Clan Warlord, they can also be promoted to the Clan leader on the forums.

Can I delete my Clan on the forums?
Yes, if you wish to delete a Clan you own, please request via the Community Inbox to have it removed.

What will happen to my old Recruiting thread?
Old threads will be locked as we transition to the new Clans feature.

Hello @[DE]Drew

What about for us that run larger alliances in game?

I am the owner of https://planetary-alliance.com which is one of the largest alliance in the game:

Have you guys forgot about us alliances and are we just left to drown here in the forums deep sea? :sadcry:

Do you have any plans for alliances in the making too?
Could you consider to make a section for all us alliances too in Warframe please?

Thank you very much in advance for your consideration.
:fist:

Can there be a way to prevent posts into the "topics"?

Prefer to be able to use them simply as areas for information.

Might be nice to also have a preset set of backgrounds and badges so people don't have to start with just a blank slate if they choose.

Awesome, thanks for the swift fixes and response, Drew!

Still a little rough around the edges, but a lot of potential for this feature to grow and help clans out in the future. Much appreciated!

Playing around with it.

It would be nice if there was a simple questionaire or process added for those wishing to join, to be approved by clan moderators / warlords, for people using it for recruitment.

Or being able to bump someone up from potential member to member status or something once they respond to a clan recruitment topic thread thing.

Is there an option to make our clan section visible to everyone but make it so people have to request an invite before joining?

I want interested members to be able to see our recruiting section but have to ask and post an "application". As it stands now, it seems everyone can join open clans, which isn't the best IMO.

Giving us more options would be neat. Let us decide who can see our page and if people can join freely or not.

Hi.

Will it be possible to change the founder of the forum clan and, if so, how?

If not, how can we delete the clan?

Thanks.

ok it says on the open that "everyone can join" and on closed that they must be invited so on the open one does that mean any tom, jack or harry can join it wither the clan wants them too or not?
