I've currently made two lex prime builds, I've got one forma and a catalyst, what could I do to make them better?

Those elemental status mods are the only ones I've got, and literally every single Lex build ive ever seen has hydraulic crosshair?

just my 2 cents, i dont put HC because you need to get headshot for it to proc when i can just use harrow, press 4 and do a good amount of crit damage without even aiming at the head

Crit and Status hybrid build.

 

Hornet Strike is mandatory.

With 180% multishot from Barrel Diffusion + Lethal Torrent, and a 71.8% critical chance with Primed Pistol Gambit, 
you are almost guarantee crit on every shot.

180% multishot is 100% on second bullet, 80% on third bullet.

Meaning you are constantly hitting with 2 - 3 bullets that each has 71% crit chance.

 

Hydraulic Crosshair and Sharpened Bullets sure will make a better crit build, but you are losing out on base damage

when you spend the 2 slots on aiming mods instead of using Elementals. Since chances of orange crit is quite unstable 
when you could deliver a more consistent damage output by using just elementals.
 

Seeker is mainly for shooting through multiple enemies, since Lex Prime would easily shoot a low level enemy dead,
but their corpse will remain as obstacle/ cover that prevent an enemy behind from getting shot.
Shooting through a row of 3 - 4 enemies with a single shot is actually better since given the low ammo capacity 
and the often reloading

Stunning Speed serves to buff the elemental proc (whatever you mod on it actually is irrelevant)
but the most important aspect is reload speed which you will be reloading very often given the capacity.

I choose Corrosive because a Lex Prime will be shooting a lot of enemies dead relatively fast, 
with exception of Heavy Gunner, Bombard, Napalm, Nox... that have armor and radiation bonus doesn't cut as well
as corrosive procs stripping armor and dealing increased damage each follow up shots.

The damage loss against other faction that is not affected by corrosive is very insignificant, because they tend to die faster.

Hey.

Hornet Strike, Barrel Diffusion and Lethal Torrent are vitals to any pistol because of base damage and multishot. Lethal Torrent also up your fire rate significantly which helps with useablity on lots of weapon.

25% crit means you can put down a strong crit build with primed pistol gambit and primed target cracker

It might be tempting to up the great 25 status with dual stat mods but Lex has a slow fire rate in general so you might want to focus on tapping heads and let the bodies hit the floor faster with 90% elemental. Again, 25 status is not bad so put corrosive in. Rad/Viral has strong damage multiplier on actually troublesome units so that works also.

Leaves with last slot, anything works really. Augur Pact for tid bits more damage. Stunning Speed for more consistent procs and shorter downtime. etc etc
