Sophronius
I am very pleased to see new animations and stances, each unique to different 'frames. There are a few that seem off. In this thread I would like to address Nyx in particular. I feel that Nyx's new stance does not fit because... 1. This is a Warframe that has all but 1 passive ability. This is not a power/nuke frame. Therefore a power stance does not match. 2. Nyx is a psychic. As such I would think her stance would look quite proper, intelligent, passively intimidating. Instead it looks... caveman-ish. Or perhaps more like a psycho. 3. Nyx is a female 'frame. This stance looks more masculine. What I do like is the levitating that she does in the dojo. This is awesome, would like to keep it. But the other portion of her stance in the dojo looks ridiculous for just "standing around casually." In the safety of your own dojo. I hate to say this because I know that animation can be a lot of work. However Nyx just doesn't look right. I prefer to use my secondary due to how it looks. I also rather zoom (mouse right click) in the dojo instead of using the stance. I will leave what her stance should be open to debate instead of spouting ideas, as I cannot think of anything specific at the moment.
notlamprey
I noticed the same thing, and I have to agree. My overal impression of Nyx, plus the characterization she got in "The Call," doesn't match up with this new idle stance.
MetalGerbil
i agree. dono what would be best but the new idle feels off. too forward and aggressive for someone who shoots physic bolts, messes with your head, and has an attack where she sits back and redirects incoming attacks. snrd3r
As a Nyx player primarily, I rather like her current stance. Since I mainly use the one power anyway, I feel my Nyx is characterized more by weapon use and athletics than powers, so it doesn't seem inappropriate to me. That said, I think we really should be allowed to choose for ourselves. Also, her arm clips with her torso while using the Flux Rifle, but I guess that's another matter. Sophronius
After giving it some thought... I see Nyx as one to stand in the back and remain calm and calculating. How many Nyx's charge into the enemy on defense missions? I usually pick a spot close to the pod or on top of it. The way I see it... Nyx would be standing with at least 30 to 40 degrees of her left side (or right, whichever) facing the enemy. Her head looking to the left, towards the enemy. The weapon would be pointed a little towards the floor, but still in the enemy's direction. And Nyx would be standing more straight up, perhaps not as much as Ash though. This would look more calm, but still intimidating. It should also look more like she is considering available options before attacking. That's how I would see a psychic. Just throwing one out there. Ryftshadow
I agree. I think the ONLY issue I have with this awesome new update is my Nyx's stance. She is by far my favourite frame and I'd like to see her with a more fitting stance. Also this was important enough to make me stop lurking XD
SlimShazbot
I don't have a problem with the pose itself. There's some clipping issues that irk me, but it makes her seem to be more light-footed and stealthy, like she's readying to sprint around. Also I feel the hunch also fits because as she's a frame who deal with psychic manipulation and disturbance, I'd imagine she's not 100% sane herself. SlimShazbot
That said, after looking at Mag's idle, I think it would also fit Nyx well.
Sophronius
I don't know... Personally I see a psychic to behave more like a member of Psi Corp (Babylon 5). Except without all the desire for world/universal domination. Kind of like Bester I suppose. Video example. -----> The psychic is the first guy to appear on screen to the left, the name is Bester. His abilities have been suppressed so that he can't use them. Others on the ship do not want him "reading their minds." This explains why he mentions not being able to use his abilities. Once again, someone who is intelligent. I don't see the reason that a psychic would be crazy... unless they were abused because of it.
CapricaSix
I love the most new idle animations and postures, especially the new Xenomorph Banshee, but Nyx... it feels a bit off lol, "sickly" like others have said. She looks like an either pure evil criminal mastermind or a bit on the "special" side :P Sexy fit Nyx became a mousey/ratty creepy Nyx Edit: Actually Ember looks a bit off too, it's like she's being crushed by the weight of her wobbly bits™ and constantly exhausted, gravity is a harsh mistress but not that harsh lol. I don't play Ember a lot though so I don't really mind either way. Edited August 10, 2013 by CapricaSix
BlueWhistler
The Saryn stance is feminine with a hint of sass to her. Nyx should get something similar with regard to her femininity. Her current stance is a bit too aggressive & masculine.

Misgenesis
Nyx's stance indicates that she is not mentally stable, and this reflects to her skills. It could use some tweaks right now but it should be kept like she is having ''problems'' I dont see any agression in her stance now... It could use some tweaks right now but it should be kept like she is having ''problems'' Yeah, because I totally like playing as this. In livestream 11 the sound designers said they would rather not add voices to the tenno so that the players could "embody the warframes." Some of these stances put a specific persona on these 'frames. I suppose we should change the profile pics of her to a psycho as well? Think imma go around spouting, "HEEEEREEE'S JOHNNY!" To everyone now. XD

ViciousDelicious
I have to agree as a main Nyx player. I was a bit put off from my dear warframe's stance. Nyx, as many have stated, is an intelligent, and calculating warframe. She would indeed be more occupied in her mind than physically on the battlefield. For someone who can take over minds, incite absolute chaos, and has the ability to turn pure will-power into a tangible force (chaos bolts and absorb)... yeah she could use a little work. I'm just giving a suggestion. I know how time-consuming creating animations are. I'm just putting in my two cents. Nyx's stance indicates that she is not mentally stable, and this reflects to her skills. It could use some tweaks right now but it should be kept like she is having ''problems'' I dont see any agression in her stance now... I'd disagree. I think anyone with that much mental power is very much stable, if not in greater control of her mind than everyone else. You don't send mentally unstable people to fight wars.
