If we fail, then we're just wasting time, seeing as how the settlement wont be released until later and we'd just be waiting that much longer for new content.

New content shouldn't be locked behind event walls. The grineer galleons weren't and the void wasn't. Especially not painfully dull ones with no actual reward for them.

I personally like the idea that some new content is locked behind events. It makes me feel more involved with the evolution of the game and the war that the game is based around.

So, you decide to boycott the event because the only reward is a new tileset?

Wow, greed and selfishness are rampant...

Honestly, if the event was difficult, I'd understand, but it's not, and it's meant to add a kind of lore to the game, a story to follow. Why can't people just play it and have fun? Why must there be an awesome, individual reward at the end to have motivation?

Seriously, sometimes......

It makes me feel bored as hell because Running the same spy, sabotage and capture missions (but now with 3 guys and a really ugly screen effect!) as always isn't fun. They seem to be locked at level 15 rather than being based on your levels or anything and the only reward is the ability to grind more things I'll probably never use once they hit 30 as well as the chance to do the same missions over again, only now in a desert (because boy howdy do I love deserts in my videogames).

When we win this event, I hope the &#! hats that were rooting for us to fail live up to their word and boycott the new maps. Afterall, isn't the reason you "boycott" the event is because you don't like the idea of content being locked/unlocked by events right?

They want newbies to enjoy these missions too.

And you can level lowbie/forma'd warframes and weapons on them.

Galleons ARE locked behind an event wall....

How many have you seen/been on since the event ended? None.

You're thinking Fomorian, not Galleon.

The galleons were added in Update 8 without any events preceeding them.

The Fomorians just happened to use the same tileset as the Galleons do.

But anyways, to the "Boycott" people:

GROW UP, PLEASE.

Seriously.

They give us a little something to do that isn't Defense Defense Defense and people are nitpicking every little thing and whining about it.

I swear, stupid nitpicky whining will be the end of Warframe. I couldn't possibly understand how Rebecca, Steve, and company put up with the constant freaking whining over every little thing.

DE: You guys did much better with this than the Fomorian Event.

Things I love about this event:

1). It is 6 days, not one weekend. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for that. Not everybody has time Fri/Sat/Sun to stay up all night to bum rush an event.

2). No "GET THIS NOW OR IT IS GONE FOREVER!" rewards. Thank you, again, for that. I was getting tired of feeling FORCED to play Warframe or I'd miss out on something that might not ever happen again, ever.

3). Thank you for making it lower-level. During the Fomorian Event, I was too late to participate in the Mercury Fomorian, I was able to do a couple missions on the Earth one, and by the time I had done those, only the Uranus, Sedna, Eris, and Pluto ones were available, and I couldn't solo those. I got to "enjoy" overpowered mobs killing my Rhino in <4 seconds with his Iron Skin up. Also, it allows Newbies to participate, and it allows people to level up their gear as I mentioned above.

4). Thanks for giving us reason to fight the Corpus. The Fomorians and the Informer was all Grineer Grineer Grineer... its nice to fight boxheads for once, its a nice change-of-pace.

My question is... say we fill up the bar in the weekend, does DE have a contingency plan? Or is this going down like the Fomorian Event?

Why would they need one? If the bar fills up early then it fills up early. This is not like the Fomorian Event where it ended early and some people missed out on a reward because they didn't finish their personal goal. When this event ends, EVERYONE gets the new map.
