CaedesEnder
As much as I love my Vasto, I love being Pedantic too so I thought id point this out.Despite its nick-name as a 6 shooter, They where only ever loaded with 5 bullets. The reason being that the hammer could rest on the empty 6th chamber so as to not risk it going off as they rode/ran and blow their leg off.Although I am aware that space ninjas would have probly found a way round this, it would add a nice little quirk to the weapon. Also i dont think slip magazine should work on it either ;)

In the most common, the pin on the hammer cannot reach the percussion cap on the round until a small sear pushed up by the trigger action adjusts the angle and position of the hammer and pin when the trigger is pulled. For anyone curious, there are also several semi automatics that can be carried safely with a round already in the chamber. NotBot
I load the entire cylinder of my .38 when I'm out shooting, and I've lost more body-parts to dentistry than my revolver. This isn't the gun of the cowboys of old, and it's certainly more advanced than a modern day revolver.

theasl
Yeah, my vasto has more rounds than it can physically hold!
Syllabea
No, that's called a Cowboy Load if i'm correct. They did that so that they wouldn't shoot themselves if the hammer accidentally went off. If you're going to be in a fight, you want all six shots.

Ob1Kn00b
A. They can totally hold 6 shots. B. This is the world of space-ninjas where throwing stars are better then bullets anyway.
arisaka
Only certain revolvers were recommended to hold five rounds, but were physically possible and designed to to hold 6 (I think the Single Action Army was like that).

CaedesEnder
A. They can totally hold 6 shots. So could a western revolver, the reason it didnt was saftey :)
Saravind
the empty chamber was basically a old day version of the safety, and alot of the old revolvers wouldnt fire by sitting in your holster whilst riding because the hammer isnt loose enough........
