LiNK4g
It appears that, not to my knowledge, there were a lot of people that didn't like the spiky Rhino skin shown here: However, every time I was in game with the skin on or I saw another Rhino with the skin on all I could read was stuff like, "Wow that looks siiiiiccckkkk" or "Whoaaa, whaat?"I think that only a small group who were upset about the spikes for some reason posted on this. I loved the spikes, it felt to me as tho when he powered em up, they would protrude from his suit forming some sort of spiky iron shell (implement some damage return to melee attacks eh? ;D)But now it looks like someone took a Wallace and Gromit iron-puddy cannon and gooped him in ... stuff? o.O Cmon guys, it looks like iron-tapioca pudding... Izeck
DE should make Iron skin.. er, skins. Like they do with helmets and such. If I want aluminum foil Rhino, but others like Christmas tree Rhino, let us have it as a choice.
Kohira
No, I still don't like the spiky stuff. Ok... maybe a little bit... but just in that screenshot... FU.. Edited August 11, 2013 by Kohira
Sirabot
I don't think the community will ever reach an agreement on what's best for Rhino. At this point. I'd say just go back to default Tinfoil.
Sirabot
Or just leave it as it is and remove the "bumps".

saltshaker42
A clear example of why making a game based on the community's choice is extremely hard to do.
Numot
The problem with the new one is the bumps aren't placed well. If they had taken the time to place them it would like he had scales or something. It's not terrible, but the doom spikes were just far better. A clear example of why making a game based on the community's choice is extremely hard to do. A key to doing this is remembering that often the forums represent a vocal minority and you need to get in game and check feedback there. I'm in the same boat as the OP, in game people who noticed my spiked Rhino thought it was pretty cool. Only till I looked in the forums did I see people complain about it. WARGAMES
they should have just tried a heightened thicker armor with what was already going over him under the spikes. if they had enhanced that it'd have been pretty good even if bland for now. Danakar
The only thing I believe would have been better is to just keep a few 'lumps' on the actual armor plating (and preferably in a more symmetrical way); and remove them from the underlying bodysuit. It looks rather awkward to have these 'lumps' everywhere when the Iron Skin effect is mostly applied on the armor plating of the Rhino frame. sambarpowder
The spikes should all align toward a direction, like fur or bone crests. Simply having them stick out was uggerly.
theangelbelow88
I like the new look, I hated the foil look with the first effect, the metal porcupine look was better but still ugly, this new one looks more like plate covering, which fits perfectly with the skill's name and description. gell
I like the current one, but the only problem with it is it needs to remain shiny/glossy the whole time. When you cast it, it looks that way, but after a couple seconds, the effect goes away and is left with just the energy swirls thing, which is harder to see from a distance. If they kept the shine on, it would be much easier to see. Large spikes doesn't make sense to me unless they add reflecting damage to melee attackers. Only till I looked in the forums did I see people complain about it. I think this is exactly what the DE staff need to take note of they should have just tried a heightened thicker armor with what was already going over him under the spikes. if they had enhanced that it'd have been pretty good even if bland for now. I did also like the plating that was under the spikes, it was full plating defending you from all sides! Damn it... Rhino is ugly again ._. I love the spikes god damn it. Rhino looks badass with it. I agree, but please don't use god's name in vain over it. There's nothing important enough to sin over. Ya, it doesn't make sense that these little lumps are still somehow protecting you from damage... if anything the armor should get thinner, not reduce to little bumps here and there I like the current one, but the only problem with it is it needs to remain shiny/glossy the whole time. When you cast it, it looks that way, but after a couple seconds, the effect goes away and is left with just the energy swirls thing, which is harder to see from a distance. I'm trying to get them to add reflecting damage to melee attackers ;DDD I actually support the idea for iron skin "skins". Let us choose how our rhino shines! I like this idea too :D Havel the Rock If you want armour, you choose stats over aesthetics. If you want to sacrifice a bit of stats for some aesthetics, you choose Havel over Smough. I'd agree, this game is mostly aesthetics since there really isn't much PvP, but which Iron Skin are you saying is "Havel?"
JBoat
Letting us choose the look of Iron Skin would be pretty cool. Hell it would be awesome if we could customize all our skills to some extent, kinda like how Champions online was. As far as the new visuals for Iron Skin go, I hate it. My Rhino now looks like hes got metallic tumors on him. There was a brief period after they took away the spikes were he didn't have any protrusions coming out of his body at all and I loved. It was exactly what I have wanted Iron Skin to be like. A glossy textured finish were you could see his colors and lights. The light reflections in the skin could be a bit more then necessary at some angles, but not nearly as bad as the spikes or lump's. Just take away the lumps and I think it would be perfect. PaperAlien
Oh! I know! In the future, when they start making extra powers for existingf rames (if that ever happens), they could make an alternative to Iron Skin that reflects melee damage and gives DR or something. We could give that the spiky skin!
KrisxK
I agree, the new iron skin looks terrible, i don't know how the hell they thought this was improvement.
