A Friend Thinks Secondaries Suck. Do You Agree?

Not gonna say his name, but he says secondaries suck. He says his Acrid takes 2 shots to kill medium Grineer on Ceres and a whole clip to kill Lech Kril. He says it takes 4 shots to kill level 20 Corpus Scouts and because of this Acrid sucks. Apparently, 2 shots is weak and everything needs to one shot.

 

Do you agree? Many people say secondaries are better than primaries. What do you think?

 

EDIT: He's got every weapon and put 4-5 Forma into most of the good ones. He was using a modded Acrid and saying that it (and other things like Despair) don't compare to something like an Ogris, Torid or Flux Rifle.

 

He denied the video proof below this post and said he has numbers to prove it, but I didn't get the chance to ask.

 

He says Serration is multiplicative and Hornet Strike is additive, so Serration has a huge boost.

Apparently primary mods are multiplicative and secondaries are additive, so primary mods have higher damage. He says this.. not sure.

Tell him to try the AKBOLTO with a high lvl Pistollero mod and damage increased mods, and he will change his mind. Way better than my latron with high lvl mods on it.

What makes the acrid strong is it's DoT poison stacking damage not the initial damage itself. Most things will die from one bullet since the DoT will most likely kill them. Acrid is great, kills bosses faster than most primaries if not all.

I agree, a gun that takes 2 shots to kill something is obviously inferior to guns like the Tealsniper and Ogris which take one.
