Default Number Of Warframe Slots

When you join the game, how much slots are available to you for free?  I apparently only have 2 when a person that joined a few weeks after have 4.  This is confusing me so much.

Its 2.

 

However you can get 1-2 extra by using the 50 platinum you get for free, I would recommend 1 wf slot and 4 weapon slots (2x2).

they said that the mastery level will give you slots when you lvl up

i dont think u can get slots for free, only through platinium or buyin the warframe thru platinium u get an extra slot, 20 platinium for 1 lost, (ouch)
