[Event/Operation Fan Concept] The Eclipse War {Spoilers From Second Dream and Cetus, Using the Solar Eclipse for a Community Event}[Concept Ending]

THE ECLIPSE WAR

BRIEF IDEA OF THIS CONCEPT

Key Facts this concept takes in:

• The Eclipse is an actual phenomenon where the Moon passes in between the Earth and the Sun
• {The Second Dream} The Lotus, in an attempt to protect the Reservoir and the Tenno in it, banished the Moon into the Void until it was returned through the events of the Second Dream.
• {Cetus} Eidolons, titanic fragments of an old Sentient, emerges only at nighttime outside of Cetus's barrier.

But what side effects would could occur to the scale of displacing the Moon like the Lotus did? What did an event such as that could've done to the Moon's gravitational force? Who would take advantage of this blunder of the Lotus?

 

GAMEPLAY AND LORE

"Natah, my foolish daughter. Your actions in hiding the Moon has become an ultimate undoing. The time is near. The eclipse arrives...

Brother of the plains, you will be next to awake. With my power, you will be rebuilt...reborn."

 

Hunhow has been waiting for the natural phenomenon known as the solar eclipse to enact his plan to bring back his brethren broken in the plains. He initiates an assault on both Lua and the plains of Cetus to assist in the Eidolon's attempt to be whole once and for all. He swiftly sends his Decaying Sentient Drones {Decaying Battalyst and Decaying Conculyst} and Sentient Carriers for a special operation:

In Lua, his forces have installed and hidden a terraforming device which maintains the gravitational anomaly of the solar eclipse.

In Cetus, his forces invades the plains to assist in the reassembly of the Eidolons. Incursions await in the plains where the Sentient are taking over the Grineer forts. However, the regular cycle of the Eidolons appearing will still occur, but with Hunhow's drones in control...

The Tenno have to choices in this Event. Like the Gravidus Dilemna, the end results are determined by which missions is completely progressd first:

• Assault Hunhouw's Forces in Lua and seek out the destruction of the device which supports the gravitational anomaly of the solar eclipse
• Push Hunhow's forces out of the Plains of Eidolon and stop his grasp in attempting to bring back his broken Sentient brother.

Granted that this specific Event/Operation Fan Concept does have a spoiler and will require the Second Dream as a mission requirement to unlock, I feel that an event like this would probably be a fitting occasion for the actual sequence known as the solar eclipse. I also feel that an event where the Sentient take a more serious action and invade multiple planets would be another fitting occasion.

Along with this, I have plans to introduce a character in Warframe that has not been used yet as a new villain in the game.

On the topic of this event, I have not added in the rewards given with this concept as it can get over my head what type of rewards are given in some content.

However, I feel the idea of Primary Weapons made from the husks of Sentient Drones could be a cool addition.

A SPECIAL BACKGROUND EFFECT DURING THIS EVENT IN CETUS

Since this event takes place in the Warframe universe where the solar eclipse occurs, I can see in the background of the plains and in Cetus the Solar eclipse visibly shown. I think an eclipse with the Moon as it looks now would be pretty interesting to look at during this event for the sake of a little immersion in this Operation.

Other possible background images I could see is the sky being littered by Sentient Carriers like this one below:

Speaking of the carriers, I would like to go over about how the Sentient Carriers can play out in this Eclipse War Event/Operation and how they will play out with the Decayed Sentient Drones.

Still working on specific mechanics that the Sentient Carriers can have in this specific Event/Operation. I am aware of what [DE] had originally planned for them to be suppliers of Oro, so I will take that part of the mechanic in it to do something fun with it.

CURRENT BRAINSTORM ON LUA MISSIONS IN THIS EVENT

In Lua Missions, the main objectives can range to a few of the following:

• [SEEK AND DESTROY MISSION] Find a set amount of Sentient Carriers in a Lua Mission (perhaps at max 3-5 Sentient Carriers) and destroy them.
• [MOBILE DEFENSE] Locate consoles in Lua to let the Lotus read data and find the location of a terraform machine.

I mostly made this concept mostly because I felt we haven't had an event/operation take place which felt like the stakes were high for a while. Granted that the developers have much of their time occupied with the new Warframes and content soon to come, I felt that an event like this would be fun and exciting to play in.

Much of the more fun events like the Gravidus Dilemna had some surprising results where passively the community was in competition within themselves. I'd like to experiment an event such as this in the near future to have the same weight as those events of the past.

CURRENT BRAINSTORM ON PLAINS OF EIDOLON INCURSION MISSIONS IN THIS EVENT

In The Plains of Eidolon Missions, the main objectives can range to a few of the following:

• [LIBERATION] A group of Hunhow's Drones takeover a Grineer camp. Drive them out and watch out for reinforcements
• [ESCORT DETONATOR] Lotus deploys a bomb in the plains which the Tenno must lead to a location where Sentient Drones are working to restore the Eidolons

At this point, I will be now moving on for my next work which will first start in the Fan Extra to tell a story based on an actual Warframe Character and will soon make a Concept out of the character I will be introducing.

This concept has been fun. I thank the few that enjoyed it.

While I am hoping I can get a comment in this particular concept, I am planning something I'd call an "Episode System" Concept. The idea is to present one possible solution to the rising of videos and thread posts of new players not understanding the context of Warframe's storyline as they progress.

There happens to be an increase in videos of new player experience problems where the new players are a bit confused about the context of Warframe's storyline and the world around it.

 

In the future, I'd like to work on a few concepts commentating on this issue.

I must ask, why have you chosen to use Decaying Sentients on the Plains? Decaying Sentients only appear in the Void where they are being poisoned by that dimension

My general mindset was to make Sentient enemies that would be easier to handle in the Plains as they don't have the Damage Reduction Mechanic unlike their original variants. And I was also considering making up the story that Hunhow brought the Drones from the Void to Earth to handle this special event.

But that is just my mindset on this.

If you feel that using the real Sentient Drones is a better option, I think I can change around this concept to include them instead.

THOUGHTS ON ADDING IN THE STALKER AND HIS ACOLYTES IN THIS EVENT

I have been pondering on bringing in the Stalker and the Acolytes to accompany Hunhow in his efforts to bring back the Eidolons only to hunt down the Tenno. That maybe asking for a little too much however.

As of now, this concept is soon to fade away due to inactive responses.

For now, I have been working on introducing new Acolytes into this Event which could arrive in both the Plains and Lua for this event. I still need some feedback on the subject before proceeding however.

new acolytes? that would mean introducing more survivors of the old war.Instead of more acolytes why not introduce more sub characters like the syndicate operatives.

Well, part of the new Acolytes I made before was a Kubrow with the Stalker's helmet as one of them. Though that may not be possible now that I think about it.

I've already have plans to introduce yet again a Corpus group from the past in the Fan Concepts for another extended storyline, and of course there is the Machinery group for later.

Right now, I was just hoping to be some focus on the concept of this war as a possible event in Warframe.

I have future plans for new Fan Concepts:

• One will once again bring back an enemy group to give some life to the Corpus Faction
• The other may include a special Quest which leads to a storyline involving the Orokin Derelict
