Althix
aoe is very small. when sliding attack deals... 75 yes? damage. i don't see why you wanna use dagger for charge it's such a waste. for charge you grab Orthos. however you will have one mod slot free if you go with PP and damage mods, so you can put there KB if you want. Mod points is not a problem. p.s. just checked. i have reach. so you have two mod slots free. KB and RC Edited August 12, 2013 by Althix

Phoenix86
Why do one when you can do both? because there's no room to equip everything? :) aoe is very small. when sliding attack deals... 75 yes? damage. i don't see why you wanna use dagger for charge it's such a waste. for charge you grab Orthos. however you will have one mod slot free if you go with PP and damage mods, so you can put there KB if you want. Another problem is that Rending Strike and Focus Energy works better with Charged attacks
Althix
200 is good, 180 is decent. but with Orthos i have greater aoe.

effinator
200 is good, 180 is decent. but with Orthos i have greater aoe. But you don't look as stylish. Dem fangs are a thing of beauty.
Phoenix86
200 is good, 180 is decent. but with Orthos i have greater aoe. 1.7 sec charge vs 0.7 charge man... it means Fangs deal over 400 dmg in the same time u do 200... the only downside is that it is single target
Althix
as you can see aoe is my main argument why charge on daggers is bad. on the other hand melee weapons are more cosmetic addition or fast travel system rather than... potent tool for killing. I see, that's why i use only Gram or Zorens (1 for CC/DPS other for mobility) On a side note: since i'm asking about a specific weapon i'd like to know if ur comment comes from experience (you own Fang Prime?) or from theory/personal opinion
Althix
you see i shoot more, melee less. my fang is very standart: Fury, PP, Reach and elemental mods (focus energy is one of them). I was thinking about charge build for fang but again situations where i actually need a charge is very limited. AoE is very small even with maxed reflex coil charging one target is a kinda waste of a mod slot. But again imho. So standart melee attacks and sliding attack is enough for fang imho. i have 7 of 8 mods on it and it's fine. I was thinking about heavy augmentation of Orthos with new dual mods... but... on regular missions you don't need that kind of damage(unless you farming bosses as melee invisible loki). On high level defense mission... useless again. Because you will either get yourself shot if it's corpus or grineer or time that you will waste by killing infested in melee on Palus or Xini isn't worth it. So from my practical point of view it's not worth it. But if you wanna say to yourself "oh yes i made this fang soooooo badass" it's fine as well. Especially when you indeed can have both. You have space and mod points is not a problem.

SkacikPLz
I've modded my fang prime to normal attacks. North wind (since it has the polarity slot) for better dealing with shields. Molten impact, for better dealing with infested (AP is only 0.5x dmg against light infested) Smite Infested, again to even out the crippled damage output against light infested. Maxed Fury - because i can. Focus Energy - Because it's better than Shocking touch. Maxed Pressure Point - nuff said, makes grineer/corpus/heavy infested cry. Sundering strike - because i still had points left. And i use it on Ash with maxed Steel Charge, this way fangs are quite good against pretty much anything. AP and high base damage(with Pressure point), totally piss over insane armor scaling of high level enemies.
Transmorphic_Wyvern
I use the following setup with my reaper prime but my usage is generally the same: Maxed Rending Strike One-Off-Maxed Sundering Strike Maxed Focus Energy Maxed Fury Maxed Pressure Point Maxed Killing Maxed Reflex Coil I generally use normal attacks, but the charge mods are there if I have/want to use them
