Open World Area

After talking with my clan mates, I've came to the idea of an open world city/area of tenno, wearing normal clothes, without helmets, ofc. It's a grande idea, but I want that everyone to think about this, it could be a huge improvement to the clan/guild/legion idea, kinda useless to some, but would be great for the most, just me, I want to hear your opinion.

Normal clothes and no helmets? No. The Tenno re mysterious and not normal people. The corpus referred to use in the lore as the "faceless ones" which is very cool. That idea would ruin the lore! Who wants to play a space ninja at a house warming party? Plus, the servers can barely handle what is there, let alone a massive world with thousands.

It's just a concept, an idea. Not a huge open world area, more like a linked-clan system. They could change the normal clothes part and no helmets, but it still could be a good concept. Like a place where clans could met. This topic has lots to be talked though...

I do think the game does need some form of community when starting the game, but there's no way in the lore that the Tenno would be in an open world. They exist in the dojo, they leave to do missions, and they return to the dojo. Their recreation involves improving themselves in the dojo, or they sleep/hibernate in the barracks.

The dojo is what DE's answer was for building more of that community feeling, along with the regional chat, but I don't believe they are going to do more to tie them together.

I'm not sure how they could create an open 3D lobby without breaking the feeling of secluded Tenno ninjas hiding in space.

I don't want to just shoot down your idea, in fact... in theory, it doesn't sound bad.

But it's something for a long, far far far away future in Warframe.

Main reasons for this, is the lack of any kind of interaction in Dojo for example..... usually Dojos are completely lifeless, maybe one or two people buying a bp and exiting, and from time to time, people going to the course/arena. And that's about it, there's nothing to do, there is no interaction between Tenno.... there's absolutely no reason to be there, hence, nobody is (it's not unexpected, since dojo feature is something like an alpha state). And there's also the hosting problem.....without servers, hosting such an area would probably be out of the question.

Until those things are addressed, i believe this needs to be put away for the moment and wait until it's actually plausible..... and there are many things that would take priority over this, i honestly think that it would even be kinda wasteful to think of something like this in the present state. Also as a personal opinion, i think the helmet-less things and such would take something away from the game.... i don't think we are ready for that either.

Thinking about the idea that they're humans still, they need to co-exist, also a place for tournaments, and developing pvp, would be great, this game has lots to show, I think I'm not the only one who feels too separated from the other players, it feels like counter-strike, with only a place where you met with your mates, and join a server to kill things, even ninjas were more communicative.

Again, this is just an idea, I know that the social part of Warframe is in alpha state, but it would be good to start a topic about this, seeing that more and more people are thinking about this concept. But it would be good that the DE could take this in consideration, it would be nice to chill in game, not just kill kill and do missions then..meh...bored...exiting.

It would be so cool if the game had more open-world maps.An advanced city with skyscrapers, tall buildings connected with each other with bridges. How about a gigantic Corpus factory where the Tenno can see how the Corpus are manufactured/created.I would love to see or be in a mission in the Grinner homeworld.Another great idea would be if you could Move or build your dojo on any planet. Why does it always have to be in the void? Always hidden? Lets say it would be on a planet and both factions can attack your dojo and your clan-mates have to defend it.This would be an entirely new mission type,  "Dojo Defense" where Grinner/Corpus dropships invade your dojo. You have to defend your reactors, labs. The clan master would have the option to change the dojo invisible any time.

Great Cthulhu, do I hope this never happens. What an aweful idea/break from lore. I don't want to see Tenno faces, nor do I want Tenno cities.

We are mysterious faceless bio-nano-space!ninja's who hide away in "small" numbers and only leave our hidden lairs to wreak S#&$.

I understand the apprehension about the logistics regarding a large city space, what i don't understand is the citing of a "lore" reason why the Tenno would have no personality. We rescue fellow Tenno without Warframes from captivity, they can show their faces, Lotus is reportedly an A.I. and she has a detectable personality and emotion. As for them being the "Faceless Ones" that doesn't mean they are to EACH OTHER just their enemies. You shouldn't have the bond and unity that the Tenno have with them being so introverted as to not show their faces to each other.

What I think could work is a huge Temple Station, with multiple dojos linked, and you can choose an open area "lobby" ( Phantasy Star Online style) where multiple dojos can congregate up to an amount. Limited trade may happen here as well as some minigames like games of mental and martial skill. Mahjong, sparring, balance tests, target practice, all these could give special decorative items like weapon skins, emblems, Sentinel pieces, etc.

For the look of your Tenno, you can go full suit and face cover, helmetless (you can customize basics like skin, eye, hair colour or style  and tattoos or piercings).

You can alternatively wear a suit that is less for combat and more peacetime yet indicative of your chosen frame's personality (Knightly outfit for Excalibur, Barbarian-like for Rhino, Djinn-style dress for Ember).

All of this can be done in a not so large area and segmented into shards. It would engender some friendly competition and a sense of scale for the community that would still fit with warframe and not seem too silly IMO.

The problem is people have this religious unshakable belief on what the chiseled in rock FACT of the game lore is, and apparently a mention of them being faceless in regards to enemy perception means that it violates the lore like a yardstick through a corndog. There is the lore that is and the lore we perceive, when our perception gets in the way of objectivity it creates often violent clashing. I am ok with being wrong and am ok with an idea SIMILAR to this if done in a respectful way.

I am sure many people would love the feeling of being a faceless murder machine cutting a bloody swath across the universe as a silent loner and that is fine, but accepting others want to be more social than that is fine as well. There are different players with different wants, if a social area for non mission activities is something you are averted to then avoid it. As for it taking away precious development resources for what YOU want, it may be a bit more reasonable to understand that if it were to be done it means there are enough people interested.

We can have BOTH action-packed missions of mayhem and paced dojo activities with friends. Variety is not necessarily a bad thing!

Seems like you didn't got the point, maybe I haven't put the point too good, but the basic idea, worths a try, and thinking about it. They could even get more money by using it. Getting more items in the game and etc. If that something isn't good for you, that doesn't mean that it's not good for the others.

i can't even get myself to read these posts lol.

the only way to have interaction like in a town/dojo would be if there was weapons on weapons/ bp's on bp's/ armor on armor/ ...

which then could be traded or sold at player shops. pointless discussion.

yes - it would be "cool"
