Get your AU Tennocon digital pricing right, DE

Uhhh, DE is quoting a price in AU dollars, as I said in the OP. And linking directly to the page that shows a different price in the same currency.

Countries where the currency is accepted shows prices in local. So in your case you would see AU dollars, and when you go to the payment page, you'd see the final tally + tax.

If you're making the payment via card, or something similar, your service provider would be adding on the extra. So that would be the tax part of your purchase.

IIRC that would explain the price discrepancy.

Thanks for completely incorrectly explaining how things work here, it's greatly appreciated and really relevant.

You're welcome. Considering I don't have the problem you seem to be having, I guess it just sucks. So, cough it up, and if you don't agree with the price, don't buy it.

Hope you have a good day! :D

Sales through the Xbox Marketplace are handled by Microsoft, and MS would have to adjust for the AU sales tax because they have offices in AU.

Sales made through the DE website dodge the tax issue because DE isn't legally obligated to collect sales tax from customers in countries they don't have offices in, though there may be a currency conversion surcharge from the creditor.
