So in your case you would see AU dollars, and when you go to the payment page, you'd see the final tally + tax. IIRC that would explain the price discrepancy. Sales through the Xbox Marketplace are handled by Microsoft, and MS would have to adjust for the AU sales tax because they have offices in AU. Sales made through the DE website dodge the tax issue because DE isn't legally obligated to collect sales tax from customers in countries they don't have offices in, though there may be a currency conversion surcharge from the creditor.
