DirkDeadeye
But the event persists throughout the intended time frame? I mean this would allow busy people to finish. What I mean by that is, anyone who satisfied the events requirements for top tier gear, within the window of the global requirements of the event, get a special prize.. And leaving the events window of 4-6 days open for everyone else to participate and still get their rewards.. And I realize I did a bad job of explaining that. Hopefully you got the gist. AlchemistMute
So if someone gets all 100 points before the event is finished, they get more shiny stuff. However, you still have the remaining 5 days to get the original rewards. People will just complain about it like they did with Primed Chamber; hard to get and will never be found again. (Pretty much.)
Geoff8733
That might be a nice prize for an event to encourage early participation. You'd have to keep it to a prestige reward so you don't unduly punish latecomers though. Statues, badges, maybe a prime item, something like that. DirkDeadeye
I'm not even salty about not finishing in time. I think some of these events are fun, and should be played throughout the week. Cutting them short from guilds who crank it out in half the time isn't fair to the community, in a sense that we're missing out on content that isn't the same monotonous grind..and gives a little more incentive to keep playing the event. Gonna happen either way, but that doesn't mean this unique content should be cut so short. And why does everyone treat feedback like it's been written in stone. I'm up for healthy discussion, rather than flat out shooting down ideas.

I'd be happy to let the "rush clans" have a badge, so long as I can participate in the event to the extent that my real-life schedule allows. Which would be relevant if everyone was complaining about missing out on the 100 points and not the event in general. Oh wait.

That's what I mean..something still significant to people who are competitive, but not significant to the player base at large.
NeopetsMaster4432
I don't think that the people who finished the event should get an additional prize, but those that did not complete the event shouldn't get the prize as easily. They're adding the mods into drop tables later, so hopefully that'll stop all the QQing. bleeps
I think you'd still get complaints because people would view the "special early prize" as the "real" prize. They would be upset they didn't get it. Just like people view getting any tier below the highest 100 point as not good enough.

Depends on how far back you look at the situation. It's not right to make broad assessments like that.

Plenty of people complained about a new tileset, enemies and a badge not being good enough. Seeing the pattern here? No matter what DE does, people will complain. I'm not knocking your idea down entirely, I just don't see there being an easy fix. Whatever the mystery fix-all is, it's going to take time and a lot more "failed" events to figure out. Hazmatzone
What to do when all the active players get their 100 points and anymore earned points don't contribute anymore but there are still inactive accounts which DE accounted for in total points, so then the event never gets completed. Or what happens when DE accounts for inactive accounts but we end up finishing early because DE puts too short of points up so threads are made complaining that DE doesn't care about them? birdei
if early finishers get a special reward then the late comers will just compalin about how the early finishers get an exclusive reward that they can't get and be whining all over again.
