Volt Sucks! Because Of Speed!

Volts speed ability is simultaneously his best and worst ability, whenever a volt is on my team i cant wait for the mission to end because i get a migraine from that stupid fishbowl zoom from the ability. I have the exact same thought when i think about building Volt "Hes good for speed runs but makes me want to bash my head against a concrete wall.."

Then when i deliberately let the Volt on my team leave me behind so i can enjoy the game he runs back and uses speed again and yells at me. Its just a really really annoying ability that ruins the fun. Please remove the stupid zoom i beg you!

It shows how controversal Volt's Speed is. Honestly I myself hate that in the whole game the most, even more than a Loki trolling others with Switch Teleport.

I always ask (especially during defense missions - honestly, why using speed during defense? I would crush your skull under our iron heels...) every volt I end up in team with, not to use speed. Always nicely first, but when they don't give a jack I usually quit mission instead of vomiting all over my place.

Don't misunderstand, that effect looks alirght for the fast speed of running... but:

- Why, oh why the heck is that effect present when I'm standing in one place? Sure, the firerate bonus is present but how does that doesn't make one get a tunnelvision syndrome.

- Even during running or moving it is extremely annoying/sickening when suddenly you get the effect. If I'm Volt it's fine since I know when I will start it but everyone else is taken by surprise and since somehow many volts enjoy triggering that skill while the others are trying to parkour the result is usually everybody falling and failing besides the Volt. Well, maybe they don't enjoy it, but overall don't care and that riles me up every time.

- A "charge-up" period for the skill with a well outlined area of effect could solve the problem but that is just... well, strange and hardly good looking - I for one would make the skill "personal-use-only" again, even if that would mess up some teams speed-run plans. Even if they take off the effect only, that wouldn't be enough since the sudden speed change can literally floor some people if used at not appropiate times (kinda 78.13% of the time).

Anyways it's a big no-no for Speed from me. I would give a higher fire/attack rate bonus for whole team and that's it - it would be more than useful and would make Volt a coveted frame even against Infested.

i love the FOV allows me to see more things

I'm the same way, I actually have the opposite problem with low FOVs in fact. That said, I am sympathetic to the problem, it wouldn't really bother me that much to get rid of the FOV change. Nonetheless though, Speed is one of my favorite skills in the game, and is pretty much the single handed justification for Volt's existence in my view. It's one skill which, even after practical considerations can increase your mission completion efficiency by about 30% in most mission types.

As much as I love having the FoV increase, I know it makes others sick, and I know that the recoil from the Strun has the same effect on me.  That's why I'd like it to be removed and for them to just increase the max FoV a bit.  That way, those of us that like seeing more can still do so without making others sick.

It's amazing how the devs keep ignoring these people. It's as if they enjoy Volts making others on the team suffer. A Simple fix would help but they refuse to do anything and are purposely waiting, yet they made a change to Volt FX.

That makes no sense.

Well, i don't care. The FoV is not my problem. :)

Maybe its on their list but the FOV on/off option isnt that easy to make.

Oh really? I'm not experienced in game development but since the game already has an FOV slider, I'm going to assume changing FOV isn't an issue. So here we go:

if (Volt's speed is used) {

       if (option is on) {

               // increase the FOV

       } else {

               // the FOV doesn't change

       }

       increaseSpeed();

}

Of course the actual implementation isn't quite as simple, but the logic itself is. Honestly, it shouldn't take weeks for it to be implemented, but the devs probably have had other more pressing issues in the past few weeks (like fixing the drop tables, thanks a lot guys! fusion cores exist again!).

It is a greatly maneuverable ability, and since most warframes have some ability based on travel, this works great. The team buff keeps Volt from leaving his teammates behind in missions, and should not be removed just because it makes your head hurt.

I don't want the skill/mechanism to be removed. I want to get rid of the FOV change that comes with it.

I agree 100% I hate having volt on my team because they all like to spam Speed and give me motion sickness and a headache by the end of the match.

-1 for volt speed, change back to just buff volt not piss off the rest of the party.

"So all those times I stopped and let the rest run forward, just to help that Rhino or Frost in back catch up to everyone using my speed WASN'T DEEMED HELPFUL?"

But in all seriousness, don't blame us, this is the supposed "rebalance" that the devs gave Volt. It's obvious they want Volt to be a lower tier frame because it's cheap, so for now, I guess we can just appreciate those who tried to be team players with it, not running ahead but staying behind to help the whole team move forward.

I've never really had a problem with the fov change. I'm too busy with whatever i'm doing to be distracted by some peripheral vision crap.

Honestly, when i'm putting the train down on some ancients you could flip the view upside down and make it rainbow bloom and i'd still be shooting.
