Uninstall From Steam, Re-Download From Site?

I was wondering, If I uninstall Warframe from Steam, and then Re-download it from the site, would I then be able to pay using a UGC card for platinum?

You will not be able to. If you made your Warframe account through Steam, then your account can only purchase good via the Steam Wallet.

Yes you can. I started my account on steam but re-downloaded the game from the site (without steam). Given that unless you have a bit of know-how to copy files from one directory to the other in the proper manner, you have to re-download all the files.

 

I made my account through steam, but I now happily play without steam, cuts down launcher load time significantly, and now I don't need steam always on whenever I want to play Warframe.

Is it just download and install from the website or is it just a "ghetto" way of going around Steam?

That is correct. Sadly there is no way to unlink your Warframe account from the steam wallet (if made through steam), though you can run the game without steam.

You would need to remake your account from warframe.com instead of through Steam, so that your account is a standard warframe one, and not a steam linked account.
