Casardis
Key word here is "activate." This concerns Warframes such as Rhino, Trinity and Saryn, possibly others. The ideas came from watching the Kogake contest videos and the Warframe Open Beta Trailer. Look at how Rhino performs Radial Blast after Loki switch-teleported: http://youtu.be/Gx5RDaGVkZE?t=1m13s What I mean by that is to be able to "cast" it while in the air, but that the effect only unleashes when you hit the ground. This will allow some powers to benefit from the fast-paced gameplay, as well as further possible, breathtaking combos and maneuvers. For example, Rhino Stomp cannot be activated in the air currently. However, I think it should be possible to, making Rhino go straight down with velocity (like a jump attack) until he hits the ground, unleashing the Stomp's power. Imagine a Nova dropping a Wormhole in the air, near a huge group of enemy in Phobos (I'm sure many of you encountered some of these ridiculous groups in the open areas by now). The Rhino would run to it, teleport above, activate Rhino Stomp and rain down death when he lands in the middle. The same way can work for Saryn, who will create a sphere of poison between her palms, and explode it by striking the ground when she reaches it. Trinity has a long cast time with Blessing, she could benefit from that as well. Unlike Ember's World of Fire, who can activate it in the air and uses the same animation but faster, Trinity's Blessing will only unleash when she hits the ground, like Rhino Stomp. I don't think it will make things broken in any ways. It just means less tediousness in running and making sure you've landed right on your feet all the time (I'm looking at you, dreaded "cannot use in air" bug...) Casardis
Bump! Any other suggestions for certain Warframes affected by this? I haven't played all of them yet, but I'm sure this could have bugged certain others. Loki comes to mind for me. In fact, he of all people should be to activate AND unleash Radial Disarm in mid-air IMO, similarly to Nova. He would stop and make a spinning animation with his hand while floating to do it, or even spin while he's falling (which would be quite a flashy landing). ZyloWolfzan
Excalibur could do this, he sticks his sword in the ground to launch the javelins, so he could do basically a jumping melee attack when in the air, plummet down and then BAM javelins everywhere. signed would certainly be fun to add to the many tricks of the Tenno arsenal. Casardis
Bump! I just realized this could benefit Banshee as well. The ones I have trouble seeing how it could work would be Frost and Mag, but that's pretty much it for Power 4 I think.

I also think almost all '1' powers should instacast with nearly zero animation, and not take you out of zoom. By the way, Nova would NEVER cast a wormhole in a group of enemies. She would cast M Prime :P
OblivionNecroninja
Nova's Molecular Prime should work like this instead of how it currently does (the animation involves slamming her hand into the ground, but she can use it in midair? WTF!?) Bump! I just realized this could benefit Banshee as well. The ones I have trouble seeing how it could work would be Frost and Mag, but that's pretty much it for Power 4 I think. Mag should stay hovering in midair during Crush (that would look SO COOL) and I have no idea for frost. Casardis
By the way, Nova would NEVER cast a wormhole in a group of enemies. She would cast M Prime :P Only if she's the one using the Wormhole to get in the middle herself. XD That's why I'm presenting team scenarios where you don't have to do it, nor does it mean it's the most effective way, but that it could be an amusing alternative to taking down enemies. Nova's Wormhole has lots of potential for flourish, but it's not used because most people spam 4 all the time. Mag should stay hovering in midair during Crush (that would look SO COOL) and I have no idea for frost. That's true. The way Nova just stops in the air is awkward, but the same goes for almost any skills that can be activated in the air (Loki's Decoy, Ember's WoF and Fire Blast, Nova's Antimatter Drop, etc). I wouldn't mind that it makes her fall instead of floating, but if it's going to stay that way, at least make the air animation different. As for Mag, floating makes sense for her during the casting due to her power. Magneto and even Cole from Infamous (since some of his powers are electromagnetic) come to mind especially. I sincerely like your idea... ....but I would hope DE is paying more attention to creating situations where using player skills or abilities other than ulitmates IS the most effective way. Not just rewarded with a flourish.
Casardis
I won't contest that of course. Thankfully there are active topics on the matter. In fact, your own topic is one of them. For those who don't know, here's the link: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/99502-ancient-healer-resists-your-molecular-prime/ In any case, my suggestion applies to all levels of powers, not just ultimates. Energy Vampire and Link is an example. The fact that ALL her skills require you to be on the ground makes her feel a bit clunky at times (and that comes from someone who has Trinity as their favorite Warframe). DoomsDayDan
I can totally see Rhino Stomp making him fall straight to the ground kinda like the Stomp power in SR4

I know back when the Kogake came out I actually started the petition to give us the awesome kick-flip we now have as a dash-attack. Some warframes would greatly benefit from casting in air. In terms of playability and fluidity.

I'd really love to see much, much more fludity in powers. Reduced cast times, air casts for pretty much all abilities unless they are very, very powerful etc. There's rarely a time when you can't get your power off. Instead, it just feels sluggish, or makes you not feel like using it bc the gun is faster. Unless we get a ton of invulnerability frames, I'm not sure what the goal of all of these permalock cast animations is. Maybe it's 'flavor'. However the flavor of a long cast time tends to be 'weaksause' :P Wish i could upvote 2x, this is a small tweak which could easily improve gameplay (by increasing ninja-tude). Yefrign
the key word I'd agree with is "Some" some frames should be able to cast in mid air like many of Ash's abilities; Smoke Screen as an example.
