Damage/resistances Rework And It's Effects On Frame Powers

Once they get the new damage system in place, and I can use my Braton Prime and Vasto on high level enemies, won't that mean that a bunch of warframe ultimates that are currently under-powered compared to Nova and Rhino will also benefit? Will Ember even need a rework after these changes are in effect? What effect will it have on Nova and Rhino for that matter.

The fact that they are reworking the damage system was, to me, the best news in the whole live stream, but I've been thinking about this ever since.

It won't have any effect on Rhino. Rhino Stomp ignores armor. It will always deal full damage, so any decreases to armor values won't affect. It does not deal any elemental damage so any weaknesses and resistances that are introduced will have no effect.

Don't know if Nova's explosions ignore armor. If yes, they would only be affected by any changes to armor values. In which case, the web server would probably crash with the amount of NERF NOVA threads.

Yes, hopefully a lot of abilities which are underpowered will receive a significant boost from the armor rework.  However, if the devs decide to balance out the lack of armor with an increase in health, then all offensive abilities will become less powerful.

Ember needs a (minor) rework because Fireball and Fire Blast are useless skills.  World on Fire might still be bugged, as well (I haven't checked recently).  However, the armor rework will hopefully make her actually useful against high level Infested (which she is supposed to utterly destroy, but doesn't).

I wasn't sure about Rhino's ulti, good to know. Nova's ulti I know for a fact is affected by armor, so this will make significant differences to it's later effectiveness.

Changes will have a strong positive effect on Mag and Nova, for sure.

Volt and Ember might be situationally useful again and Vaubans Tesla might profit, too. Not sure if Vortex is affected by armour.

Saryn might end up being less efficient when some Mobs will get a toxic resist value.

AP skills might win some, lose some. The devs hinted at AP damage being less effective against some enemies, IIRC.
