Alternative Warframes [Idea]

So I think everyone has their own opinion on each frame but I also think everyone has those frames in mind who they would like to have a massive rework involving their abilities, stats and even health style simply because of their themes and the lack of justice the design gives that theme.

Of course, this is a very grey area to tread near, but would it be a bad idea if they were to release frames who were based on the same theme while being completely different? For example, Nekros is a Warframe based on death while his play style is mostly being a bullet sponge or, the most famous style for him, farmer/grinder. If you were told you'd become a death wielder you wouldn't expect this. Another example could be Chroma who is based on a Dragon while his play style is either tank a hell of a lot or multiply your damage output; personally, this doesn't seem very immersive for a dragon based frame.

Like I mentioned earlier, very grey are to tread near. I'm sure many people would be pleased to see DE try a second attempt at many frames. A smoother idea of this would be Oberon as he is based on a druid/paladin as a healer/tank/CC frame along with taking up the slot for a radiation-based Warframe. This could grant an opportunity to make another Radiation frame without crossing a line if his initial theme is different. A reversed way of doing this would be if someone always liked the idea of having a paladin being purely a tank, someone to specialise in 1v1 combat specifically or something along those lines.

This could also fix people wanting to play Warframe as a classic RPG, basing the character off of themselves as the "Alternate Warframes" could also swap the gender of its Original Counterpart. The names wouldn't be too hard to design either as they can be based on the same themes as the originals as well (while typing this, this is giving me "Pokemon: The First Movie" vibes). Basic examples could be:

Ember = Flare, Frost = Glacier, Volt = Thorce (a bit of a stretch of a joke), Ash = Merc, Nova = Galax, etc.

Names have got a lot more creative over the last few years so if they were to make this idea into reality (Doubt it but it's something) I highly doubt that they will actually use these names.

On the off chance that this happens, it'd probably happen in a major update being worth the number of updates each original frame was up to so people don't feel cheated or deceived (like they do with primes but on a much bigger scale).

Warframe is an amazing game and hardly needs any changes or additions, but it could work for a major expansion in years to come if they ever run out of ideas ;).

I'm pretty sure OP meant that they would make a different frame that is somewhat similar to another of a different Gender. For example DE won't make a female Rhino skin but they could make a somewhat similar frame of a opposite gender

Given that Warframe already has a problem of Warframes lacking proper identities, I don't think this is a good idea. It would flood the roster with Warframes and sure, that would potentially add a lot of cosmetic variation, but the big selling point of new content, especially Warframes is just how they play. If you don't have that, then how do you get people excited?

Also as a sidenote, yes, some primes are underwhelming, but what they all offer is a reduced barrier into optimization with their additional polarity slots. I don't think that this should be understated. They are skins, sure, but skins with a lot of perks.

I didn't say that DE should do it, I meant that they would rather do that than Genderswap skins

I could see where you and OP were coming from though. It would mean that those that really want their genderswaps could get them in a less nebulous way than just remodelling the existing warframes and throwing them on the skin list. By the same token though, I don't know if going down this route will be favorable to the game's variability. Your reasoning is a lot more creative than most people that throw this idea out there though, so I'll throw you a like even though I don't agree with your thesis.

I personally don't care if DE does it or not as I will always main Chroma(have been for 2+ years) but if they made a gender swap skin for Chroma I wouldn't be too happy and I'm so glad that they aren't planning on it, so it was more a suggestion for those people who want genderswap to quit complaining and asking for it without breaking lore and all that stuff.

I think there may have a misunderstanding happening

Reread to be sure I got you right: If I read your initial statement in the context of this, then you wouldn't be happy with a female Chroma, but if they came along and made Estrella (Female dragon names are hard) that also was a dragon frame, with a slightly varied kit then you would be fine with it?

If this is the case then I can get behind it too, only if it doesn't strain the roster.

In that case I wouldn't mind at all BUT the kit would have to be completely different with maybe fire being the only similarity. As long as the alternate Gender warframes that have similar themes have different kits than their male/female counterparts then I'm ok with it.
