Do Rifle/shotgun Mods Ever Drop Anymore?

So I've been noticing a trend since 9.5.... "Dude, where's my Primary Mods!?"

 

Ammo Drum? Yeah, we've seen tons and tons and tons of those.

 

But what about everything ELSE?

 

Did lots of Jupiter missions lately trying to get my Acrid (which should be just about done building as I type this). Found LOTS of Convulsion Mods (Lightning for Pistol), but not a single Stormbringer.

 

During that Corpus Event, I saw quite a few Deep Freeze, and only a couple Cryo Rounds from doing all of those Corpus Alerts and Corpus Void missions. A few No Returns (very few), and only 1 Piercing Hit. Even managed to find a few North Wind (those used to be rare as crap).

 

My New Account test on Mercury? 3 Heated Charges so far (!), 0 Hellfires.

 

And of course the pages and pages and pages and pages of Reach and Ammo Drum dropping off of everything.

 

So..... do you guys expect us to kill everything with our pistols now? My New Account Test's Lato is now 3x as strong as the MK1 Braton and might even be stronger than the full Braton I'm about to buy except for the Fire Rate. All because of the fact I'm getting way more Pistol mods than Rifle ones.

 

And since 9.5, I've seen 1 lone Shotgun Spazz. That's the One-and-Only Shotgun mod I've actually seen after 9.5 went live.

 

EDIT: Also.... why are Armor Piercing mods so stinking rare now? I hate the thoughts of trying to do Earth in that new account test with zero Armor Piercing... that is going to royally suck.

Yes, I'm trying to find Serration and so far nothing at all for the rifle

ditto Serration/Hornet Strike not found one yet with 9.5 in any of the quick fixes.  Mercury/Earth/Saturn/Phobos I've tried them all joining pugs and not one.

I've seen a few hornet strikes but serration seems to be extinct all together.

Hell thunderbolt is more common to me now.

Since the change I've found 1 hellfire, a scattering of piercing hits and a stack of freeze damage for all 3 types but I still have no idea where hellfire and strombringer went.

I've had no luck getting a second Serration for my companion cube, nor have I seen any Hornet Strikes.

 

I did stumble across a bunch of Cryo Rounds, Fast Hands, and Speed Triggers doing low level runs to rank up gear for mastery points.  I also ran across several boosters.

 

The drop tables seem to rotate what they throw down on a nightly basis.  You'll only get 2-5 different drops, but you'll get those drops over & over, and then the next 24-hour cycle they seem to reset with a new selection.

@OP just got a shotgun mod from level 20 ish Infested in a spy mission if it matters, but yet to find the others outside of defence which I am bored with so avoiding

 

edit: Back to what I hate but needed to unlock Europa, but I got even more Point Blank mods now that I have unlocked Valefor, I averaged 1-3 per 5 wave run as loot.

It seems like these 'Uncommon' Mods have accidently been derped into 'Rare' drop tables. Been trying and trying and trying to get a Serration, instead I've got mountains of Ammo Drum, Well of Life, and Sentinal Regens...

Ok so spoke too soon, finally found where to get Serration;

Sedna - Kappa

One dropped on my 4th run.

 

Loads and loads of heated charge and other warframe power mods.

I'm hoping I can AT LEAST get Piercing Hit from mobs in Venus on that new account trial of mine.... otherwise, Earth is going to be Hell without it.

Kappa dropped it? because I did about 20 kappa runs today and got nothing but revenge, regen, and one thunderbolt. I guess there just super rare now.

Why is it every time I need a certain Mod, something like this thread comes up.  I was hoping it was the RNG Gods again, but I too have not been getting many Rifle/Shotty mods.  And I need a Stormbringer for Nef.

Piercing Hit was ridiculously common Pre-9.5; everything in Mercury dropped them by the truckloads.

 

After 9.5.2, I made a New Account to test out my "Getting Started" guide, and I've done probably 10-12 missions and the 1 and only rifle mod I've gotten, period, is an Ammo Drum.

 

3 Heated Charges, though.

I found magazine warp today from a Grineer Napalmer during a capture mission on Saturn (I think it was Enceladus, but I can't remember). I've gotten Piercing Hit a lot, and Shotgun Spazz twice on Mars, but that won't help anyone trying to get through Earth first. Tactical pump dropped a few times on Phobos if I remember correctly. I keep finding Cleanse Infested on Eris and Pluto Infested missions, and I found one Chilling Grasp and a Crowd Control a couple of days ago, but I don't remember where. Other than that, I haven't seen any other rifle or shotgun mods.

 

The funny thing is that before 9.5 I kept saying that the one mod I didn't have was Reach . . .  be careful what you wish for.

On a funny note.

 

I found a Flow in Mercury.

 

.....a...........Flow......

 

That makes #9 for me.

 

How many Focus do I have?

 

.....still none.

 

And I do a Lv61-63 Alert in Neptune, Corpus. What mods did I find?

 

1 U5 Fusion Cure

1 Reach (lawl)

1 Warframe Power (forget which one, TBH, it was either Common or Uncommon)

1 Cryo Rounds

 

........and that's it, out of a 132-mob Exterminate.

 

Same junk (other than the core) that I'd be getting from Venus and Mars. I thought higher level stuff was supposed to drop better stuff?

Just to add:

 

I got my 2 Serrations from Kappa and bailed, took 8 runs total to get what I wanted.

I'm still searching for Gunslinger and Piercing Hit.

 

Magazine warp.... cripes man I have like 40 of those and I use them as fillers for fusion.

 

Otherwise, I get tons and tons of commons and uncommons that frankly are junk. I still get a bunch of "Reach" for example, and Sentinal Regen, doesnt matter where I go. I wish the Regen actually worked on the sentinal... which it doesnt.

It was some random drop from a mob. When the first one dropped I about lost it as Ive been looking for a few days.

Its one mod I never got and now gladly helping my Orthos until I can get a Prime Reaper

Finally got 1 serration as a wave 5 reward on IO, still to find Hornets Strike though

 

edit another serration as reward after 5 runs, but no Hornets Strike as yet
