Modding Weapons Without A Catalyst

I have played Warframe for quite a long time and do quite a lot of end game stuff. But my weapons aren't good enough because I can't get a catalyst in them. I want the Devs to make modding for end game better for non paying players.

Be watchful of catalyst alerts (there was one just after the livestream) and if you are lucky you might get one as a login reward.

There is also forma, which halves the mod costs by adding polarities.

You don't have to pay, I have about 5 reactors and 6 catalyst BP laying around in my foundry just because I monitor alerts.

You could always farm forma and go that route.

Non Paying players, Wow that is just so annoying to read, I don't think they give a S#&$ about you if you don't support the games development. take your 50 plat and leave.

It is far easier to get forma then the catalyst. Just run tier 2 void until you get forma and use them till you free up enough points to get the build you want to work. It not ideal but it would certainly work if your luck was terrible with alerts.

Most of what you get for a catalyst are classic cash shop benefits like reload speed, ammo economy, etc. I can put all the charge damage, armor pen, and anti-grineer into a melee weapon without any help.

 

They are helping the non-catalyst though. Combo-mods are high efficiency for their points.Pistol armor pen just went from 30% to 90%, and it still only costs 7%.

They obviously do because theres stuff in the market thats credits, second you dont have to be so rude

 

any how, i agree, i wish there was a way to get catalyst or maybe even slots! i've bought over 1k platinum, still i have 5 pages of weapons and im out now.. and 8 frames thats it..

plus i cant remember (besides last night for the livestream) the last time we had a catalyst alert.

A catalyst is only 20 platinum. $4.99 will get you 3 cataysts. If you enjoy the game support the developer and give something back. I originally was gonna go the play without pay, but quickly changed my mind when I got hooked.

As you say you dont need a catalyst to do well at T3 void, even with forma is a more handy resource is enought.

Then you, sir, aren't ready for the end-game! Seriously, it's not even that hard to level weapons, and if you run defense with other people you don't even have to use the weapon to get affinity for it.

 

If you love using a weapon enough to want to supercharge it, you're most undoubtedly going to use Forma to be able to slot all the mods you need. Don't have the mods for it yet? Keep on truckin until you do.

Then pay up for a catalyst. First you ask for a modding option for free players but you can't be bothered to level your weapons again? You could also wait for an alert that gets you a catalyst, I got like 8 so far and I didn't buy a single one.

I don't have that many, but I still do the same thing and currently have 4 catalysts and 1 reactor (which will be used if Necro is any good).
