Dojo Architect Room!

I was thinking it might be handy and over all cool to have a room for the architects to plan, construct and view the map in.

How I'm thinking it is like this:

- A room about the same size if not a tad larger than the tech/bio/chem labs.

- In the center of the room is a large table with a level based (layer based) holographic structure of the Dojo.

- The end of the table facing the door could be interacted with like the labs.

- Press 'X' and a Panel will open up giving you a movable and rotatable map.

- Clan Architects can use this map to plan out, mark sections and build stuff.

- Other clan members (except for Warlords maybe) can not alter the Dojo but can view the map.

--------

As with what the Architects would do specifically it would go something like this:

- An Architect (and Warlord?) would be able to see the map in whole and communicate about planning through a chat section on the side of the Panel.

- Places such as free nodes, rooms and decorations could be 'marked' on the map which would also make the marked sections visible IN the Dojo OUTSIDE the map.

- Architects could both construct in the room and outside in the dojo itself like it is now.

- There would be no limit to how many rooms are in the Dojo but there could only be 1 - 2 on each floor.

- Outside the Architect Room, players would not be able to 'plan' or 'mark' places. This is to maintain a realistic purpose for the room.

-------

Now for the 'marked' places.

- Architects would be able to choose from a selection list what kind of "mark" they'd want to have. Options would include something like:

- Flags. Maybe a slim flag on a pole on each side of the door. (or players could choose on which side or both) - Color highlights. Either as a frame around the "marked" door or as a symbol of some sorts on the floor in front of it (maybe a clan emblem).

- Message board above or beside the door.

- A small banner on a small pole on the "marked" place for decorations.

- A colored symbol.

------

Last but not least, the "markings" would differ in outlook depending on whether they'd be for decorations or rooms. Something simple like color or aura or something of the sorts. I hope this is eligible for realistic consideration. Any suggestions and feedback are of course welcome. I think this has been suggested somewhere else but It's a good enough idea to deserve it's own detailed topic.

would be very helpful to have a layout type construction option, although not a fan of having to build the room for the ability. I do like the idea and the functionality you described, however i think it would be just as effective as an 'interface' in the clan hall and would save time, resources and dojo space.

That sounds really cool. The interface idea too. I'm not saying it HAS to be EXACTLY like I stated, just an approximation enough to make building easier along with a map to actually prevent you from getting lost in the mazes the dojo's very quickly become.

But more ideas people! Creativity and feedback is what keeps this game original and fun.

lol. What would also be extremely convenient is being able to systematically destroy rooms connected to each other without waiting for two hours before each and every one finishes. Something like, you can't destroy a cross connector with a reactor on one node without the reactor being already cued for destruction. But If it is already cued for destruction you can destroy all rooms connected, given that they don't become "island rooms".
