Supra Vs. Gorgon?

Question

Short and sweet. Which is better in the long run?

I'm running the Gorgon right now for levelling and I kind of like it. Was thinking about potatoing it. Then I saw that the Supra does bullet damage too, but has a slower projectile speed and smaller effective range. So which is better overall? I only have one potato to spend....

It depends how close you are to being able to get your hands on the supra. If you'll be able to build the supra reasonably soon then save the potato, if not then supercharge the gorgon. While the supra has hell of a lot of power behind it there's a lot of work in building it.

Supra has better damage potential.

Disadvantages:

-Supra projectiles travel at 40 m/s (compared to Despair for example, which is 70 m/s). This takes getting used to

-Doesn't benefit from penetration (Metal Auger and Shred mods). Not a big deal, but many Saryns prefer the Gorgon with penetration so they can pop Venom bulbs more easily

On the flip side, Volt's Electric Shield makes the Supra a hitscan weapon (unsure if penetration works in this case). It's even more of an investment to make a Warframe specifically for this gun, but it's definitely worth it. I haven't even Forma'd my Supra, but with Electric Shield I can still kill any boss in a single clip if I make sure to hit every shot.

Supra by far.

Stat wise, and... ya know...

LAZORZ

This is true. I'll probably go for it based on the stats. The slow bullets worry me though.

The Supra is better in the long run due to the massive damage increase over the Gorgon. However, it's going to cost you quite a lot of time/effort to craft the Supra. By the time you're done getting the materials, you'll likely encounter another potato.

I'm actually just the Fieldrons away from it.

In that case I'll probably save it. My only issue is the Control Modules needed to make Fieldrons.

Supra if you can get to mastery rank 7.

I'm actually already at 8 ^^;

I already have Volt, but I don't use him for Defense. The projectile speed is my only real concern. Other than that I'm Supra all the way.

I stucked between these two weapons. I like both, both are potatoed, but I just want 1 main weapon - forma, and forma again and again -.

I can handle better the gorgon, but the supra is really great in close fights. Although the slooow projectiles can hurt the dps at long, even middle range. Idk.

The Supra is more worth a potato. It's one of the few bullet damage weapons right now that can be modded to still do decent damage to level 70+ Grineer. Its very wasteful at mid-long range though.

It's worth pointing out that a Gorgon with a Shred mod could hit about 1-4 enemies per bullet, which I'm pretty sure would easily make up for the lower base damage it has compared to Supra (which doesn't benefit from Puncture)

I think I'm probably going with the Supra. The Gorgon's slightly better accuracy (due to the bullet speed) isn't really worth the reduced damage, especially when looking at point blank ranges half the time.

True, but I was one of those people who couldn't get at a computer for the event. =P

Plus, I'm not the biggest fan of non-integrated puncture. It's too expensive mod point-wise and upgrade-wise for me.
