1. Are we focusing on the right things? Adding weapons isn’t want we want!

This trend is emerging and it’s a problem we need to address, today in the stream we talked about this and a brief summary of Steve’s thoughts on this follow:

Steve - "This is all we've been talking about internally. Initially our pattern was to add locations, enemies, etc. Now that we've fleshed out that we need to speak to the long-term player. The early term players still exist, people still experience the game as noobs. For veteran players worried about our focus. We hear them, we are overhauling the damage system - not from scratch, but making changes to how elemental, physical, and armor piercing damage in game. We have a narrowing build diversity in higher end content. We have all of our level designers right now taking mission types, tearing them apart, putting them back together. It's not fair to say the game play is boring, it's that game play after 500 hours is boring. We will put more effort into diversifying what you can do.  Mission types, damage model, dueling, are short answers. But also coming are new locations."

We still have weapons in the pipeline being released that other members of our team our working on, but we hear the discussion loud and clear.

We discussed this in the Livestream, please review the content and summary if interested: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/95416-thank-you-for-watching-livestream-12/?p=1071202

2. Armor 2.0, system overhauls

Our last Hot Topic had an interesting  experience of igniting priority in a system we had not given enough attention to. The Armor system, and by consequence the Damage system, are being reviewed and reworked. What this means is there won’t be one “best” build for high-end content, diversity and options will hopefully be added back once we make changes.

3. Necro frame is next!

We revealed that the next Warframe to join the Aresenal will be a Necromancy themed frame. Tons of great threads have already spawned with creativity.  Exciting!

4. Boss reworks!

The next boss on the rework slate is the J3-Golem – he will be making a terrifying  and colossal appearance in a future Update. Many threads have emerged addressing the Stalker and the role of minibosses as a whole, which is becoming a focus for us as well. The Stalker has been a mysterious and welcome part of the Warframe experience, and we want more things like it!

5. Prime Systems

Aside from the question of “Who is the next Prime Warframe” (it’s Mag), the system as a whole has been receiving some feedback. Specifically, players are curious as to why and what our goal is to have a system that features upgrades of existing weapons in the game.  Scott strongly feels that the Prime weapons offer goals to players who seek out such rare and prestigious gear – he is reviewing suggestions, but the current system is going to stick around for now.

6. Net code, strict NAT, and more.

This has been a lingering issue that affects select groups of our players and prevents them from enjoying Warframe. This was brought up in the Livestream to bring attention to the issues and what we are doing about them.  A quick summary is that the issues demand further improvements to the code that is the backbone of our multiplayer game, and is ongoing.

7. Gamescom plug

Shameless “If you are at Gamescom, come visit us!” Plug. Our booth location will be Hall 8. B-060.  See ya there!

8. DEMegan joins us!

You may have seen the Alias “DEMegan” lurking in the shadows. Megan has joined the Warframe community team here at DE and will be helping out with all things Community (moderation, hot topics, and more!).

9. Events

The Arid Fear event has been met with polarizing reactions. We never want to put our players in this situation again and regret that this event was shrouded in confusion. We will be restructuring and rethinking events moving forward so they don’t repeat the issues that have emerged from our current event structure.

First I would like to say thank you all for all the work you put into this amazing game, I want to be a counter voice to a lot of the complaints I see coming up lately. After 400 hours I think the game is progressing great!

I would really like to see some more information and options on the new dojo rooms. Destroying the whole thing for new rooms and not being able to ever build the old style seems like a poor solution. We need more documentation on how these changes affect the dojo and clan without just trial and error.

I would like more ability to plan, as well as move rooms and options to use the old or new rooms. Adding a preview ability would be nice as well.

And on the same subject, are we any closer to the other rooms that Steve had talked about a couple streams ago? Enhanced foundry ability, clan-wide buffs and such?

Thanks for your time.

as much as i defend the necroframe, something with soulgathering is to much, would anyway be a passive, who not exist in warfram

sry i find the "classic" necro(mancer) theme so outdated, and the whole raise your enemys as allys is just nyx for corpses with a hood and dangly parts

i hope the necro frame doesnt encompass zombies and puppeteer-ing. gonna fail so hard if it does.

yea . . :s

I doubt that most of the players, long term players, claim that the game-play is plain boring.

I think our concern is mostly that it's always the same, not matter if in Mercury, or in Pluto.... you do exactly the same thing, the same way.... the only variation is stats..... you need more mods and more gear to put out enough damage to kill things, that's about it..... it's reduced to simply "can you dish enough damage to kill the sponges at that scaled stat lvl?".

I am over 700 hours of gameplay.... and i still play the game fairly regularly and i love it. But to go as far as to say "the gameplay is boring after 500 hours" is condescending. After 50 hours at most, you are incredible dulled by the repetition..... the gameplay gets boring pretty quick in fact. But some things keep you alive for more time, the weapons.... the mods.... the farming...... the void....... that is, of course, if you can handle the repetition.

That's why i think suggestions like these are needed:

Although this game is like a roller coaster with it's ups and downs it's still the best MMO I've ever played, not just because of the amazing game but because of the amazing staff in charge of it. I'll be looking forward to all the changes in the future and being here to experience them with everyone.

I think the necromancy themed warframe should seriously be reconsidered, I mean this isn't some game that has the standard worn out "fantasy" theme with all the cliches that come with it, and I would hate to see this game go that way.

Ok so space ninjas with guns is not fantasy?

Agree with most of that. I am at 160h (prob 100 of actual play) mastery 7.5ish and I think the game gets very repetitive around 50h. That's when you start to realize there isn't really anything to do besides run nearly identical missions and set your own open ended goals. It's almost like a sandbox style game with no sandbox :P

However, the game isn't BORING, it's just repetitive. There isn't a point. This game will need to get dynamic as well; minibosses, surprises, and yes, a quest like mechanic such as Cells will be needed. A new metagame will have to be invented - mastery does not suffice.

I still truly enjoy playing, and really have a massive amount of respect for what DE has built - especially the core gameplay. Variety, surprises and challenges are needed. Please continue to pay attention to the players - I'd wager that a handful of players in this thread have spent more hours playing than the entire dev team combined.

Thanks for your continued effort DE - I like the direction DE and Rebecca are going with being more receptive to the community. I think more discourse is needed but for the first time in a while, it feels like the ship is on course.

Thanks.

MGS4 also featured Screaming Mantis which use nanomachine to manipulate the dead's nervous/nanomachine system and control them. TBH, nothing wrong with this thematic Warframe. Warframe has never been a hard scifi game.

The game as a whole is repetitive because there are little variations in level. Same enemies, same stage over and over again. While new tileset and new weapons certainly alleviate the problem, they're not enough.

What we need is randomized event within the mission itself. Miniboss like Steve the pink Ancient that can regenerate and intoxicate at the same time which guarantee mod drop similar to the Commander glitch would be a good addition to the game. Or an event that turn the table against the Tenno like Rescue mission that the hostage happen to be a Stalker, Vor's ambush in the reactor room, four or five Grineer elite holding the control panel in the deception mission, etc.

short term:

-transparent ui makes you accidentally click planet missions. "oh crap, i'm on party, everyone's not ready, i can't cancel it, i should rejoin the group!"

-performance issue since patch 9.0.0 <-- fixed!!!! thanks guys!
-def missions are not rewarding. "let's bail when we get what we want!" *bails at wave 5

mid term:
-we new customizable HUD! new/custom crosshair! some of our lovely, creative tennos have some great hud idea in the ui feedback! (500 upvotes guys!!)
-mod ui with hundreds of page is frustrating. again, some lovely and creative tennos in the ui feedback have some great idea

long term (kinda urgent, but least expectation. take your time guys....):

-dedicated server

-able to join group without any single bug or problem

I gotta say I  love the idea of the Necromancy frame and he looks amazing in the concept art. Please make him look exactly like that in-game! :D

Additionally, thank you for addressing things like the damage system, mission overhauls, and longswords, especially. It was refreshing and heartening to get an idea where the game is headed.

Also, hello and welcome DEMegan :)
