Thunderbolt is crap unless you are farming low level enemies because when thunderbolt actually goes off, it replaces your actual arrow.  It does not add an explosion, it replaces your shot with one.  250 damage just isn't that much on the higher level planets and won't do much to a group of guys, but your regular arrows (with proper damage mods) hit like trucks.  It also appears that if thunderbolt goes off on your first arrow thus replacing it, the explosion is unable to trigger multi shot so you potentially lose a second arrow.

Why the hell did he need 6 and a half minutes just to tell us his build? Anyway OP with elemental mods, Serration and the Crit Chance+Crit Damage mods the bows will do more damage than Thunderbolt will do as Thunderbolt replaces the actual bolt and you can't and won't do anything above or below 250 damage. The usual Serration and Split Chamber builds would do just fine on Paris. I heard reload speed makes you draw your bow faster, but don't quote me on that.

Split Chamber (Multishot is essentially double damage)

Serration (Moar damage)

Piercing Hit (Missing isn't as brutal)

Cryo Rounds (Makes weakspots easier to hit if you hit another body part)

Point Strike (Abuse the 20% crit chance!)

Vital Sense (And the 150% crit damage!)

Shred (Charge time is much more tolerable and added puncture because we can.)

Hawk Eye (Anything can go here as long as it's not Thunderbolt. Personally the extra zoom makes it easier to snipe from long distances.)

The Paris doesn't have as good of a crit damage in comparison to Dread, but if you miss, you'll still deal okayish damage. The idea is to abuse the high crit change and decent crit damage while being accurate and hitting weak spots. Every bow should have this build, really, because the difference between a crit. head shot and a normal body shot is 6k/600 damage. At least missing isn't as brutal.

Thunderbolt replaces your potential 6k arrows with a 250 damage explosion that doesn't scale with Serration or Cryo Rounds, doesn't get critcal hits and doesn't hit weak points. Worthless. If you want explosions get the Ogris.

I wouldn't suggest using shred. Puncture doesn't work on the bows (except possibly lancer shields, I'm not sure about those), and thus the much higher firing rate boost of speed trigger is a better choice.

Alternatively you could use both speed trigger and shred in place of the hawkeye, and have near instant charge.

These are both good suggestions. Forgot about puncture not working on projectile weapons. :T

I just thought this because projectile weapons are already able to pin bodies to the wall, dealing damage to an enemy behind the one you sniped. Meh.

It's definitely counterintuitive. Until I was informed that it didn't work, I expected it to work better on projectiles. It just makes sense that a flying blade or other projectile would have more momentum and be better capable of penetrating things. I imagine it's just a matter of having to handle the calculations different, and they haven't yet gotten around to it, or aren't planning to.

HI,

I've recently got paris and i am wondering which mod to give it..........

And where to get thunderbolt mod?

Serration, Split Chamber, Point Strike, Vital Sense this are the most important mods you want

after that you may add mods like Piercieng Hit, Speed Trigger, Arrow Mutation

i can only say thunderbolt is a bad mod, because it always only does 250 dmg

and so limitad your Dmg output
